I like the thing of moving a bunch of store rewards into being drops instead, gives me a reason to go farm. Time to blow up more manimals! \o/

ALL IS RIGHT WITH THE WORLD \OWO/
My super cool CC build and how to use it.
My first thought to this is it's a crappy change that is obviously made to try to force people to grind every day of every event (as if we don't already do that when there's items we want and they all are 400 each). My second thought is that the currency drops better be higher and/or the store prices be a lot lower (no more of this 400 for everything crap). I generally only log in because of events but if it's going to be too much of a grind, which it's already a grind anyway, to get what should be fun event items, then I'm just not going to log in. Yes, I know, nobody cares if I play or not, but I still felt like saying something.
P.S. Keep in mind that people play multiple games and they all tend to run their big holiday events at the same time so some players have to micromanage their in-game time and/or choose which game gets their attention (i.e. if it's too difficult and no fun to do an event in one game, then they won't play that game). I know I've skipped some events in CO because I look at the grind and the prices of the items and decide it's not worth it to me.
The only thing mentioned that would in any way change the overall amount of event grinding you would be doing is that the prices will possibly be lower. Oh also and you no longer have a reason to grind an event at all if it doesn't have rewards you want. So really, the only possible outcomes are equal or less grinding.
My super cool CC build and how to use it.
With the change, you will always have to earn enough during that particular year's event to get what you want because you won't have any leftovers to help like before, you'll be starting from scratch every single time; that is a huge change. But like I said, if the event store prices are low enough, and/or currency drops high enough, it might be okay.

The overall amount of grinding isn't changed however.
With tokens carrying over:
-Year 1 you grind for 6 hours, and make 600 tokens and buy 1 item for 400 tokens, and have 200 left over the next year.
- Year 2 you grind for 2 hours and make 200 tokens for 400 tokens total and buy 1 item for 400 tokens.
Total grind time 8 hours, total items gained 2.
With tokens not carrying over:
- Year 1 you grind for 4 hours, then stop knowing your tokens won't carry over next year, and buy 1 item for 400 tokens.
- Year 2 you grind for 4 hours, then stop knowing your tokens won't carry over next year, and buy 1 item for 400 tokens.
Total grind time 8 hours, total items gained 2.
This is because those leftovers didn't come from nowhere, you spent time to get those as well so they didn't actually reduce the amount of time you spent grinding. The only real change here is that instead of grinding extra in the first year, you spent that time instead grinding in the second year. The only thing you lost was motivation to continue grinding when you've already gotten all the rewards you wanted in the current year, and that only applies to events that come once a year. For events that can come multiple times a year nothing has changed.
You're not even losing any of the extra tokens that you earned this year, because you'll still have an opportunity to spend them at the event where all the vendors are up simultaneously.
And on top of all that, there's a chance they're going to lower the prices of items because of the change to not getting carried over tokens. So, the only possible outcomes here are: same amount of grinding or less. Well, unless they start adding way more rewards that you care about than they have in the past, in which case you will be grinding more, but I'd love to hear someone make an argument for why they want less rewards that they want.
My super cool CC build and how to use it.

Block timing explained
Would also be nice to see some minor event item that could be bought for 1 of said currency with the new system just so we can get rid of the last bit at the end of each one without jumping through extra hoops.

And I agree that not being able to save up isn't so bad a change either. It just means you don't get what you want the first day, you have to wait a few days and save up. The only problem is that we're losing all the currency we already have saved up, but at least this Reprint event is giving us a chance to blow through our storage before it goes!
Grinding for tokens is not fun. Gathering tokens due to usual play is much more fun. Having enough after some casual play for a new item induces this one to enjoy it more.

This patch is just "We're trying to prevent Q-Exchange from dying again. So we're making items require Questionite to compensate!" Just hope that the new players are willing to play along since the vets practically already have everything.

No one knows how "bad" it will even be until we actually see the new prices. No sense in freaking out just yet. If the prices turn out to be horrible, feel free to go nuts. :P
Other games which reset the tokens have Different seasonal events every year or they add a whole brand new event mission chain to continue the plot!
Will Champions Online add additional Mission-chains for those events every year which explore the Lore even more and in the size of Death Ratling? I doubt it
It's Lazy design to recycle content! That's the huge deal for me here!
Same time pandering fetch quest dailies for every seasonal event (Go look for Teddy Bears, Go find fake Foxbats, got fire up fireworks, go bully halloweeners, got destroy destroits) and by the end of the event where the BIG BOYS come out to fight I'm already drained fromt he grinding
and one of the reasons I Hoarded myself Tokens as well after getting everything from the store for Next year, So i can reduce the mindless grinding! Because after years of Grinding, those events are not fun! Especially since I do them with multiple characters so i can get the event costumes faster with multiple resources, especially with the ridiculous amounts of 400 Tokens costumes
2 of my characters who I was trying the Steampunk dog sidekick from High Noon, but the Time frame for that event was ONLY 1 WEEK and they couldn't get it! Now their remaining Tokens will be gone
The reprint "Daily Gift!" mission has some of the names on the currency rewards switched. For example, selecting Turakian Coins rewards Elysium Coins.
Yeah, that's definitely why it doesn't bother me. We get like 1-2 new parts a week for events now, it's a pretty reasonable "grind".
As for new players and the piles of older parts, didn't they say next year they're going to be putting some of those in the TPB store instead?
Anyway, something I wanted to ask. Did they remove that vendor that let you spend extra event tokens to trade in event auras for a boxed version you could trade to another character? I know they only had it for like... one or two events, and then they might've removed it? I kinda miss that, it'd be useful.
New players are lucky, look at all the motivation to do events they'll have.
My super cool CC build and how to use it.
And bought a number of costumes, etc that I didn't really care to grind for before, but am now motivated to go ahead and purchase. It takes care of some far overdue "housecleaning" on the horde of alts.
The vendor that gives 20 tokens daily has really helped the alts that were almost there.

In the Collector's Store
Draysha Supercharger isn't spelled correctly the spelling in the store is: "Draysha Supercharge" also it's not a lockbox item but rather a Key Pack Device from the: Havoc Key Pack and thus shouldn't be in the Collector's Store.

i've been lvling a few alts and noticed a lack of event currency drops outside of the open world areas. 433 Kills in demon flame and no event currency drops at all. No drops in Alert missions either.
i jumped on a lvl 40 to test zones to see if drops happen outside MC. Desert, Canada, MI, and Lemuria open world areas all have a chance to drop event currency, but some Open Mission mobs wont drop anything.
Lvl 40 drops rates were around 2-4% chance, meaning 1 drop every 2-3 dozen kills, but sometimes i would kill 100+ and not see any drops.
Lvl 16 in MC saw a drop every 20 kills or so, even when fighting enemies well below the exp threshold.

So let me see if I understand this. You are saying that every year we have the chance to have a new currency line (same name?) to the point where our currency list can grow infinitely? So if I have 1 or 2 of a certain currency, I'll be stuck with it forever? If so, that is a stupid decision. We need a way to discard old currency if it's not going to be used anymore.
If I'm wrong, please say so.
