I approve all of these changes. In fact can we get more of these changes like right now?

    coolcoolcoolcool

    So now we've got
    1. Expiring tokens
    2. Event token caps that're just under any of the decent rewards
    3. Inflated event reward prices
Don't know about you guys, but I have a job and a family. I can't afford to spend eleven hours a day grinding on half a dozen alts to get every event item. Coupling this with the absolutely absurd zero-warning 24 hour item sales last week or so, are you guys trying to drive off your casual userbase?
  • lezard21lezard21 Posts: 1,510 Arc User
Why do you guys even bother o3o Like did you take the time to read how detailed and planned out this is? There is no going back. This is more a FYI thread than a feedback one

So all event items will drop from any enemy....but no additional Recognition can't be earned? So once end of year occurs if I had 399 tokens to buy that 400 item...I am just SoL ? I'll have to wait for this NEW NEW NEW Currency Event Vendor Token, the newest latest and greatest...again again.

This just sounds like a mess..really does.

How does the currency drop from mobs? I've been killing mobs in every zone for a while and didn't get a single event currency from them, also, have you noticed the anniversary destroids are still active on Millenium on the PTS?

It's been like that for several patches now.

I hope by "revisiting event item costs and rewards" you mean cheaper items and more/the same rewards, but... I'm not hopeful, there.

Also so like... all the tokens we've already put time into grinding out for future events are just going away with no compensation at all, right? That... sucks. I'd take even some silly little reward like being able to buy temporary transformations or consumables. Just something to trick my mind from thinking about how the extra time wasn't entirely a waste, heh.

^ Actually ignore that, I misunderstood, that's literally what this Reprint Event is for, isn't it?

This appears to include travel powers, which I was hoping it wouldn't.
Form powers (enrage, concentration, etc.) seem to be excluded from this rule.

    Some number porn
    k1mM98O.png

With green vouchers you can buy: 15% catalyst, Safeguard Catalyst, Rejuvenation formula at a 1:1 exchange, or trade in 15 for another attempt at the rng box
With Blue vouchers you can buy: the RP areas TP devices, AFs
With Purple Vouchers you can buy: Drifter Costumes, Heirloom gear
With Gold Vouchers you can buy: Key bundle costumes (Summer Shirt, Emmisive Helmet, etc) or Key Bundle devices (Voltanic Potential, Benigng Symbiote, etc)
With Cosmic Vouchers you can buy: new auras

    Feedback
I know you will probably add more stuff in the future, but currently the drop chance of blue tokens is too low for the rewards it gets (green rewards are arguably better)
Gold Tier could probably get a little nudge, we are currently looking at 166 boxes to get 1, which is equivalent to 830k Q aka 1.6k Zen, for items that don't cost more than 100g in AH

Feedback or Bug your decision but consider it before this power goes live and is never touched again
Torrent's damage is pitiable vs it's charge time. Since it's a power in the Wind Tree I have to point out that Hurricane deals more damage per second than what Torrent currently does for it's 2.5 seconds charge + activation, and Hurricane applies 2 effects, repel and knockback vs Torrent's knockdown one.

The rune advantage doesn't help it either, since Pyre does the same thing while doing more damage and applying a more useful effect (Clinging Flames).

The main problem seems to stem that the power was copied from back when it was intended to be a click, since neither it's damage nor it's cost increase with charge time.

This power costs 500 SCR, 250 GCR and 20k Questionite, in it's current state it's not worth it. So, PLEASE. Reconsider the balanceing of this power, I don't want to add another entry to the Power Bug list ಠ_ಠ

It was stated in the patch notes that Torrent's damage and cost are not currently scaling. It's a bug.

As for the animation, the handclap was un-ironically chosen. Noticed that when placing it in the GCR store too haha.

Yo-you're fucking kidding, right? What's literally the point of this? People actually like to save up currency during an event so they could spend less time the next time it comes around. Hell, casual players, who mind you, make up most of the playerbase, do this the most.

You're literally halting progress people would usually make earlier. Are you literally trying to make casual players quit and keep only the people who crap money out for this shitstorm? Even if you want money from people, this alone will make players mad at you and stop giving you money, it's literally removing player freedom on how they want to play the game and you expect they'll still throw money at you for removing a method of freedom which has been here for YEARS?

Honestly, the 'community' should've seen this coming when the Foxbat cred was removed from people because the event was "too easy".

This is some of the most brain dead inept **** I've seen from one company alone.

I have seen this happening in other games with Limited time tokens and events
However THOSE GAMES HAVE DIFFERENT EVENTS EVERY YEAR! Christmas event is not the same for those games for example!

You literally recycling and extend the Grindfest for the SAME EVENTS we have been stucked in maintenance Limbo the past years

If that's not Lazy idea for Content, I don't know what it is

Happy to see the Q exchange crisis being addressed and the voucher store cleaned up a bit.

I'm a bit skeptical of the new event system and stores, but I'm hoping it opens the door for better management of events in the future.

Not a dire issue, but the sheer amount of vendors in Millennium City is getting alarming. I know there's a lot of stuff to dish out, but there has to be more vendors than civvies in Millennium City these days.

There's still a fair amount of space in easily accessible buildings in RenCen where vendors could go. Some interiors are quite empty.

That's not really the point, though. Having dozens of different vendors around is messy at best, confusing at worst. Again it's not a critical issue but it's a tad obnoxious, imo.
  • Okay it's nice that we can choose any weapon skin for Gunslinger's Legacy but how about making another actual single pistol power for us to put Advantage Points in? It's a pretty weak attack device for Munitions by itself and is redundant if you already have SMG/Assault Rifle/Bullet Hail anyway. Steady Shot is the only existing single pistol attack power and that's an energy builder, even Gunslinger's Legacy is a superior choice.

    Event currencies not carrying over?
Ah. So basically ‘grind buggy drek for days over multiple characters’ for the people who don’t need to worry about obligations like being employed, or

shell out cash for the privilege of lootbox gambling to get drifter salvage, locking any sort of reasonable progress towards limited time items behind money, the ultimate superpower.

Merry Christmas to you too, I guess.

There's Drifter Store, Voucher Store, General goodies(bags, consumables etc) store, Event store, UNTIL recog store, SCR store, Nemesis store, DevToken store, Exchanger store(for titles and whatnot), Exchange store(to swap a recog for another), OV store and then the premium store.

Many of these could be in one single NPC who would just have a dialogue option for each store.

On a different note, I believe we could move some of the people around Defender to the Questionite building, like LadyHawke and the alert coordinator, so that the area around Defender isn't all cluttered and it'd give purpose to the Q building, since Mr QuestioniteLockbox is going there too.

Only thing would be advertising to people that the building actually has a purpose now, since a lot of people don't even know the vehicle testing area is in there, and that's been there for a whiiiile now.
  • For people with jobs, families, etc this is becoming very unfriendly to casual gamers. I like to be able to log on the weekend, get a few tokens from an event and then after go on with my day. At this rate CO is almost a full time job itself.

Forget the part where they capped out at how many characters you can have? FOR NO REASON?

I wasn't here for that... and I'd never accumulate that many to begin with. I haven't even gone past the first page... I really only cycle between 4/5 characters. My main, an MA/Void build and set of Ego Blade toons with virtually identical builds that I use for Q/Alert Farming... though one of them missed a vigilance check in and is now behind in the cycles of amassing Q for me to finish unlocking everything that I haven't yet. Though it sounds like I might be in for a much longer wait then I'd like.

Event currencies not carrying over is only a factor if you had a bunch left over, which only happens if you keep grinding after you finish getting everything you care about from one edition of an event. Sure, grinding an extra 500 currency this year saves you the time to grind that currency next year, but it's not a net time saver, it's just an issue of when you spend the time. It does mean that when you've gotten everything you care about from a current version of an event you should stop, but people do that anyway.

I am glad to see steps done to remove questionite from the game. CO was in desperate need of a Q sink for a long time, as the sad state of the exchange shows. However, I am *not* happy that the Paperback store items are Bind to Account/ Bind on Pickup. Where is the difference if Player A buys the boxes and sells items to Player B? The Q removed from the game is the same. You're removing another reason for community trading (after scrapping crafting and putting event rewards into grind stores) and turn the game into a brainless coop grind.

Call me a communist but I believe that giving the community the chance to exchange resources will create an overall better gaming experience then everyone just focussing on their own grind and how others are just there to get them forward.

Don't know about you guys, but I have a job and a family. I can't afford to spend eleven hours a day grinding on half a dozen alts to get every event item. Coupling this with the absolutely absurd zero-warning 24 hour item sales last week or so, are you guys trying to drive off your casual userbase?

I knew there was going to be hyperbole and I was not disappointed. How you got the idea that people will need to farm more because any of this, I dunno. If anything this means you now have no reason to farm an event at all if it has no rewards you care about, since you can't build up currency for next year. Also, they're talking about lowering prices. So... yeah, that's the price of engaging in outrage before digesting all the information.

What's next? Complaining that they added too many rewards you do care about the next time that happens? "wtf how dare you add 10 things I want, I don't have time to farm for all that!"

For people with jobs, families, etc this is becoming very unfriendly to casual gamers. I like to be able to log on the weekend, get a few tokens from an event and then after go on with my day. At this rate CO is almost a full time job itself.

Alternatively, this may very well be a cartoonish-looking Black Desert Online-lite. The one MMO where grinding involves going AFK on purpose.

Congrats on your total lack of reading comprehension. Care to point out where I said I didn't want the rewards?

Try to unstick your tongue from their boot before you point it out to me. (And before you point out 'decent', I'm directing that at the consumables and such.)

This is good change, especially for finally using the Character's weapon choice
    Terak Generator
    Fixed tooltip display.
    Slightly increased damage.
Now applies Superconductor to your primary target when maintained at least halfway.

Care to point out where I said that you said you didn't want the rewards Mr. Readingcomprehension? I know you wanna be outraged but calm down for a second and actually read things before you talk about them.

All they're removing is any motivation you might have had to farm an event just for currency, even when there's no rewards you want that year. How is this inconveniencing you at all?

I used this elsewhere to illustrate how this is ( not ) changing your grinding times, and I'll show it here too so you can glimpse it:

    With tokens carrying over:
-Year 1 you grind for 6 hours, and make 600 tokens and buy 1 item for 400 tokens, and have 200 left over the next year.
    - Year 2 you grind for 2 hours and make 200 tokens for 400 tokens total and buy 1 item for 400 tokens.

Total grind time 8 hours, total items gained 2.

    With tokens not carrying over:
    - Year 1 you grind for 4 hours, then stop knowing your tokens won't carry over next year, and buy 1 item for 400 tokens.
    - Year 2 you grind for 4 hours, then stop knowing your tokens won't carry over next year, and buy 1 item for 400 tokens.

Total grind time 8 hours, total items gained 2.

So as you can see, the only change is you no longer have a reason to grind an event once you're done getting rewards it has you care about. They're even adding a new end-of-the-year event that gives you another chance at something you might have missed, and so the tokens you have now don't have to go to waste. Take a day off from the "They're Out To Get Me" Club and recognize when something positive is happening.
