So, did testing. We didn't have the numbers, but some observations and thoughts:
    1. Fighting in the corner does seem to reduce the spawn area. This is helpful for greens, can be inconvenient for reds, but I think is a net gain. Stacked up greens absolutely melted.
    2. Healing from bugged reds when other colors spawned next to them was usually some, but not *too* bad. Stun is the way to go there.
    3. Having a single green detonate was usually survivable. Having two was usually not.
    4. I realize that killing two reds and paralyzing one is fine.
    5. Last I checked, which is admittedly a year ago, celestial cleansing could remove the green debuff. People might want to take it (remember, dps can use it on themselves...). This needs testing.

Miracle happen! This is a very rare sample of Eidolon succeeded.
Successful rate is about 2/50 (4%) in this half year.

Most of those runs are not recorded because of video taking over 60 minutes.

Eido runs that are on weekend afternoons succeed maybe half the time. Eido runs at other times are automatic failure.

Better forget Eido for a while since most vets are on hiatus or until devs fix eido (if they can).

I wonder if the devs would take another serious crack at it if everyone just gave up on it for a year?

I actually stopped playing mainly cause of Eido, it used to be my favorite boss and the only thing that I was down to actually do content-wise(even if I don't need anything that he gives), but now ? Lol, it's just a waste of time, so I'm gonna come back when they fix him !

It's funny how the reason Eido got bugged is because devs were trying to make him harder for players. Now he's too much of a bother and devs can't fix him. Sure, there were successful runs but it's extremely low chance and the rewards are crap.

Oh, well. Eido be sinking in the sea of ignored game content....

It would be funny if it were true, but it's not. Eido got bugged by accident, as far as can be determined; the patch that bugged him had nothing to do with him.

And Devs are misunderstanding about 'easy' Eidolon.
At that end players were over powered with Wardicator or what ever and they made both Eidolon fix with power nerf.
And some skilled players like Kamokami doesn't show up onlie for while...
    So much triple punch.

Wonder what's the next "unintended bug" future patches would make. It would be hilarious if was Therakiel when they revamp TT.

Nothing like the feeling of when you're told to change your fighting style or leave the fight (though it's my fault for only using one character, too).
That's a universal feature of difficult content: you're expected to bring someone who's a net asset towards winning the fight. There's generally enough overachievers at the other cosmics to carry low performance builds, but Eido is tuned high enough that it's less practical.
Right now, I'm trying crowd control for example, though I know that's not useful in this fight (but I'm not sure what happens if I end up applying a hold, though I just used non-control attacks instead).
The fight actually requires a dedicated crowd control specialist -- but due to how CC resistance works, if you aren't that specialist, your CC is either irrelevant (most targets are immune to CC) or detrimental (two people holding the same target is less hold duration than one person).
Also, does this fight scale based on player count?
Not meaningfully. Making it scale down when run by fewer than 30 players would probably up the success rate, though it would also result in secret runs.

    Eidolon chat templates.

[zone] Stick to the wall do not go forward to make sure not to activate timer.

[zone] Do not tell 'Eidolon is up' to random people we are gathering at private channel for the most skilled players for doing Eidolon at now.

    [zone] GROUP 1: Tank/Healers/Controller

    [zone] GROUP 2: Crushing/Particle

    [zone] GROUP 3: Slashing/Paranormal

    [zone] GROUP 4,5,6 : Other

[zone] Please make sure to cut off your dino device.

[zone] Please do no use any lunge power toward green/yellow/red objects spawned.

[zone] No [ice grades] to green/yellow/red objects spawned.

[zone] At green crystal spawned, please move to each position do not stick to Eido unless you are tank or tunnel heal.

[zone] At greens summoned, group 2 = left, 3 = middle, 4 = right to move quick.

[zone] Please do not use wide AoE attacks BUT single target attack during several green/yellow/red objects spawned together so close.

[zone] Keep take care for your next move to zone chat.

[zone] Do not rush to reds wait for zone call for your next move.

[TheEndGame] [Cosmic HQ] Eidolon is up! Please bring your best DPS build.

But do not bring any hope for lucky success.
At first make sure your build is set as Endgame DPS and read the tips very well.

There have been "training" runs for Eidolon, called up in various channels, in the past.

In these cases, while still not the best idea, it is OK to bring non-optimized characters to the fight. Because, you are there to LEARN the fight sequences. It is not expected to actually defeat Eidolon during these runs.

However, once an actual run is called with the intention of completion, now you should be bringing your A-game character and your A-game.

We could standardize the DPS builds. Have everybody bring a power armor build with Dex as Primary SS with the Expose Weakness Specialization.

That way, we get a heap of both generic damage resistance debuffs and particle resistance debuffs. Those -10% damage resistances will really add up if everyone's doing it.

-10% resist from dex doesn't apply to other characters and the PA specific debuff can only stack to 3. The idea of stacking resistance debuffs is already in use. That is why builds focussing on specific damage types are asked to join a specific teamup group, and that group is then assigned a specific orb.

I don't think we should want to go further than asking people to bring a character that is good at one of the required roles. For people that are asked to join in public channels that means bringing a good dps build. But if you want to bring another (required) role to Eido there is a clear path towards that: show off that character on the other cosmics. If you do well enough at those and have experience with the Eido fight in dps role, there is a good chance you can get that role in the Eido fight (at least now and then).

It is particularly easy to get an opportunity as a healer, because there's normally three of them and one healer doesn't make or break the fight.

I can't even chat or go take bio break during fight going on as healer.
All healers must keep Tank and CC alive. Healers have to heal and res DPS.
Healer should not die as able as possible.
Each healer have to fill out all auras, AoPM, AoED, AoRP, and CC may bring AoAC. Good.
Healer 'build' is not so difficult, but how-to-play during run becomes much more important.

We can't ask random players for CC and Tank in Eidolon.
CC and Tank are the roles that requires both best build and action.

Reliable Tank in Dino could try, but have to do it with even less amount of healers keeping alive, in team up.
(Healers shooting [Iniquity] to Tank can die very often at Geysers unless they know when Geysers happen because Iniquity stop the movement for short)
*My personal recommend is 100% dodge Tank with balanced amount of Health for now, because AoRP makes Tank tough and easy to heal for healers. Tank having high CON with [Defiance] is good too, but same heal amount is less effective to Tank having high amount of health.

For CC, the build must have to be optimized for doing Eidolon. 'I can CC Kiga and Ape, but first try for Eidolon' players doesn't make any sense. Kiga and Ape are very easy contents.
Come as DPS at first and learn, would be a good option for all Eidolon beginner players.

I can't say yes to hybrid PA even having DEX SS, because Eidolon health scales with amount of players. And I think green/yellow/reds also does. I can't say NO but will be better to join group 4,5,6.
My recommend is to fill out 1 group of Tank, CC and healers, 3 groups of pure DPS in each attribute at first and then think about other.

    GROUP 1: Tank/Healers/Controller
    GROUP 2: Crushing/Particle (DPS)
    GROUP 3: Slashing/Paranormal (DPS)
GROUP 4,5,6 : Other (mainly DPS)

Not connected to Eido but still messed him up... That is some strange coding devs put up.

It's actually fairly common in coding to reuse bits of code you already have in place when you need something that serves a very similar function. For example if I have a power that heals someone, and wrote some code that does that, then it saves time and space to reuse that function in other instances where a power is healing something, so long as it's coded in a modular way.

    Problems can start for a couple reasons. Say you're not documenting your code very well, and a new team comes in, they might not realize you've been doing this and start writing duplicate code which they start attaching to new things. This can end you up in our situation where you change something, unaware of all the things it's being used for, and then an entire class of npcs vanishes because you changed some code for a teleport spell >.>;

So it's not really that the code is strange, it's just poorly documented and possibly a bit messy.
    sannia1 wrote: »

This is actually somewhat the case already. Not in the "everyone is a PA" way, but in the way that most high-end players are using the same basic strategy of building their DPS characters no matter what the framework is. Having everyone switch to PA likely wouldn't give us much of a return as you think - and would definitely cause a delay as everyone levels up and gears up their new PA characters. Also some people just don't want to play a PA, and has been proven by the recent successful Eido runs, they don't have to.

I've been targeting computer PA for about 8 years now. Quarry PA can also work if you use missiles rather than beams.

On the topic of standardizing dps as PA, the last Eido run I attended the "Crushing/PA Group" was two people. Myself (PA beams) and Adavan (Force.) It's largely unreasonable to ask 2 people to take out a green. So we had other people assisting is who got no benefit from my debuffs.

I ended up in the exact same situation last run I attended, 2 people in the crushing/particle group. Here I thought PA was super OP and wildly popular .-.

Lightning dps works something like this.
    - use BL
    - use LA until Ions proc
    - apply Superconductor with CL
    - use BL after every two LA to refresh debuff
    - try to use that against cosmics... notice SC icon being pushed of screen
    - change UI layout and scaling to try fit more status icons on screen
    - back to cosmics..... SC icon is still pushed of screen..... OMG how many status icons are there?! And why does Superconductor starts with an S?! And why is the S so far into the alphabet?!
    - move target HUD all the way to the right of your screen... That works.. More or less
