The new zone looks really cool, but...

Hey devs, the new zone looks really cool! I can't wait for it to go live.

That said, before you make any *more* new zones like that, could you do something? Could you please add a few daily missions to the EXISTING zones we already have? The desert, canada, monster island, etc. Just because I'm a max level character doesn't mean I never want to go to these places again. They are supposed to be part of the "world", so please give us worthwhile reasons to keep going to them even at max level.

Again, new zone = awesome! Great job!

But please add some reasons to keep going to the existing areas before creating more brand new ones.

    I agree! Some quick thoughts:
-Revamp UNITY missions to feature activity in lower level areas
-Relocate some special/holiday events in lower level areas outside of MC - the Circus Mal race would be cool in desert canyons
-Have teleport devices to these areas become a rare world drop

Sorry, my fault for not really explaining what I mean. I mean missions that you can play yourself; without requiring some huge group to get together.

Citizens missions scaled at level cap would be amazing.
    Gemini - Lvl 4x - Soldier
    Omicron - Lvl 4x - Mind
    Emerald Myst - Lvl 2x - Claws/Fighting Hybrid
    Epsilon - Lvl 2x - Blade
    Asterius - Lvl 1x - Electric/Void Hybrid

I agree. Since most of these take place inside a private instance, there is no reason they couldn't scale and reward end game currency.

Sure, they could be like additional Unity missions, giving 1 scr each

I've always wanted an event in the Desert. Single munitions need more powers and there are tons that are NPC powers there. They could make mechanical horses for vehicles and have us fight one of many villains there.

To add a request for the _next_ new zone after this one, I'd love to see something more focused on a major supervillain team attack, but as a warzone. I have characters for whom this high end magic/warp/chaos stuff is appropriate but others for whom something a bit less bizarre would be much more interesting.

I'd like to see the open missions be converted to use Scary Monster technology and updated somewhat (could use a bump in challenge level). Other than bug fixes, most are fine as they are, though a few (War on Peace, Raptor Rush) are super-lame, and some bosses are dubious (ASCII Oakley is a Master Villain).

I wish there was more to do in the lvl 30-34 range than just MI. It would be great to have some arcs in MC, Desert and Canada that covered those lvls. Getting so tired of helping out those Manimals ;)

On top of that, if you finish a certain amount (like Unity missions), villian arc of them (purple gang, psi, black aces, ect) or area (Westside, City Central, Downtown, ect) then that could grant 2 gcr.

GCR will only ever be given out with the most difficult content. Anything that doesn't take a lot of time and can be done solo will most likely not ever drop it. SCR is all you can really hope for here.

Fair enough. Personally, I would be happy with some type of "daily" that requires you to complete any open mission in every world zone(MC, Desert, Canada, Monster Island) and rewards Q. It would be a lot of fun going to each zone in between Alerts, IMO.

I vote Viper. Viper warzone. Do it.

Also I would love some really tough solo missions that reward GCR... probably not gonna happen, but I think it would be really cool. Even have some ideas on how that could be done in a way that works with trinity characters.

VIPER taking over a small country would be an easily-justifiable development. Or maybe the Warlord -- VIPER troops would be easy to reskin as Shadow Army soldiers, and if the devs were up for it they could give us his War Machine support supervillains.

Champions Earth has several fictional countries, so we don't have to worry over real-world geopolitics. One in Latin America or Africa could use the Monster Island terrain.

A VIPER warzone with a few new VIPER villains (Halfjack, Superior, the rest of VMS-Alpha, perhaps Draconis making a power play), the Duchess, would be pretty cool.

A fair statement. However, and this is key:

"playerbase reaction" is not the same thing as "forum reaction"

Typically, less than 10% of the playerbase post on the forums. So "playerbase reaction" will be judged by internal numbers(people playing the new content, and then replaying it again), not forum reaction.

I agree. Since most of these take place inside a private instance, there is no reason they couldn't scale and reward end game currency.
They could also make character-level missions from Socrates, but its interface would need to be cleaned up. (Automatically removing missions that are more than 5 levels under you, for instance; why do those repeatable <20 missions stay on your computer forever in the first place??)

Also, they do occasionally have clue drops that lead to open-world missions. Clue drops that lead to sets of instanced missions themed around villain groups or potential new threats would be good. Such multi-mission clues could drop after you reach a certain level (15, maybe) and could be zone-specific or even require you to jet around.

One comparison to CoX--the tram system in that game sometimes lead to instanced missions as an extra destination. If Cryptic could do that with the jet, that would be cool; I'm just not sure the game is set up for something like that to occur, this is CO, after all, a different game.

I couldn't agree more. CO concentrates more on magic-themed threats when there is so much potential elsewhere, and VIPER is one group that should definitely be explored. They're already supposed to have assassinated world leaders, they are apparently international, and have the morally inept view of the world supervillainy requires.

There's also another angle to this. VIPER wants to control the world. Do you really think they would stand idly by while extradimensional forces attempt to undercut their plans? Maybe VIPER should be found in the upcoming new zone as well....

As for Spinny's idea of small amounts of GCR in solo missions...that actually doesn't sound like a bad idea either. Getting some reward for completing tough missions (or sets of missions) would be an alternative (if a minor one) to the usual, but even a small amount could add up over time. Probably not gonna happen, as Spinny said, but it'd still be nice.

VIPER's patron god, Nama, is normally hands-off regarding its operations, but has on rare past occasions ordered VIPER to attack major DEMON projects which posed a threat to Nama himself; even cooperating with heroes. This certainly sounds like such an occasion.

I actually was not aware VIPER has a 'patron god'. Guess I've been too busy smacking the goons around to catch that detail. It certainly is a reason they might be interested in keeping other forces off of Earth.

Don't forget, though, that there's also Argent and Psi and several other groups whose scope may not be as great as VIPER's...but that could change. Imagine an alliance between several of these gangs specifically because VIPER is a threat to each of them individually. Once such an alliance felt strong enough to move against the snakes, they'd certainly also feel strong enough to move against the world in general or heroes specifically.

Yeah but super hero stuff works largely the same way pro-wrestling does. Alliances never last long enough to "take over the whole WWF".

How about Eurostar or another major super villain team, as a final showdown?

Viper are cool I guess, but I can't help but also think of Cobra and Hydra and to me, those kinds of agent class enemies are, no matter how well equipped and trained, ultimately cannon fodder for real super heroes. Sure, there will be some Viper Bosses and Viper Super Villains and paid Mercenary Super Villains working for viper on a temp basis, but even most of those guys are only a threat due to the forces they can bring to bear on a geographical area or community, like.. well, like a villainous army of terrorists are. Not like a Super Villain or a team of super villains.

I read, "Hydra takes over a small country" and I think "The Avengers roll in and kick a bunch of ****, some people unfortunately don't survive but the heroes did all they could, case closed".

Hydra= Viper, and Avengers = any solid group of player heroes in Champions.

I read, "The Masters of Evil take over a small town and hold it's citizens hostage" and I think, "Oh crap."

Well, it's referenced in Serpent Lantern, and VIPER pops up in Aftershock in a couple of places, so they're certainly aware of and have access to the Qliphotic realm. It would make sense for them to have a small observation post or something, but I doubt they'd want to make a major attack into the Qliphotic realm.

If I could have anything added to the game, it would be this. Enough agents and alien storm-troopers. I play a superhero, I want to fight supervillains! It's one of the main defining elements of the genre. There are literally hundreds of colorful villains in the IP who haven't made an appearance in CO. All different styles, motivations, and power levels.
