Qliphothic Warzone
The Qliphothic Warzone has been enabled. Please talk with Until Liaison Bradley in the Renaissance Center for more information nd to start the main mission arc. You must be level 40.
NOTE: We are currently looking for feedback on the missions present in the zone. Many other things are implemented but are still being worked on!NOTE: Rewards have not been put in place yet. The regular missions will grant Silver Champion Recognition while the cosmic encounter will grant Silver and Gold Champion Recognition. - The Silver and Gold Champions Recognition vendor stores have been merged. They still require different currency.
- MCPD, Snake Bucks and PRIMUS tokens have been removed from the game. Unity tokens will be awarded in their place.
- The currency exchange vendor will allow you to exchange those tokens for Unity tokens.
- Removed Justice gear from the Drifter store.
- Added Justice gear to the Champion Recognition store.
- Justice gear now costs a combination of 2 Superdense Diamonds, 2 of another type of Rampage token, 225 GCR and 450 SCR.
Added the following items to the Champion Recognition vendor: NOTE: More will be added in future patches.
- Spook V, Spook J, Slug, Oubliette, Portal Guardian and Eidolon of Destruction action figures.
- Psionic and Dark essence auras.
- Shadow Destroyer's Shoulder Capes (currently male only), Helmet, Armor (currently male only), Gloves and hip armor.
- Mind Drain and Shadow Eruption power unlocks.
- Manifest Mind Worms, Elder Worms Crystal Eruption, Shattering Rain and Devouring Shadows devices.
- Cosmic "of Rage" secondary items.
- Paranormal Perfection, Darkness Consumption, and Shadow Destroyer's Contempt mods.
Hermes VendorNOTE: This vendor is still under construction but will feature numerous temporary items to aid you in your challenges in the Qliphothic Warzone.Power Changes
- Fixed some powers applying an old version of Snare.
- Fixed the Freedom! buff from not properly locking out the nailed to the ground debuff.
- Leg Rumbler advantage now applies nailed to the ground.
Corrupt Effect
- Adjusted the way corrupt works.
- Duration slightly increased with ranks of the powers.
- Amount of damage done to villains after the effect expires decreased per rank.
- The Corrupt effect does not scale with any stats (and never has). This is intended and will not change.
- Currently Corrupt does not trigger Manipulator. This may change in a future update but is intended for now.
- This changes will affect the following powers: Mind Control, Endbringer's Grasp and Blood of Corruption device.
New Power: Shadow Eruption
- PBAoE Dimensional damage and knocks back foes.
- NOTE: This power will be receiving additional effect and advantages.
New Power: Mind Drain
- NOTE: The FX for this power are still being worked on.
- Similar to Lifedrain this power deals damage and restores your health.
- Advantage: Deplete. Makes the power heal nearby allies.
Enemy Groups
- Fixed a bug where Aura of Radiant Protection on mobs wasn't actually doing anything.
- Fixed a bug where Aura of Ebon Destruction on mobs wasn't actually doing anything.
- Adjusted some attacks on Elder Worms and Trey Kings/Qliphothic Horrors so they chain together more fluidly.
Elder Worms
- The Elder worms have gained the ability to apply Stress (-Ego Resistance, Malaise (-Recharge Speed), Graceless (-Dodge) and Disorient (-Damage, Minor snare) through some of their attacks.
Follower
- Now uses a group pbaoe heal.
- Now uses a group pbaoe shield.
Substantiator
- Fixed a bug where it could not use its manifest worms attack that summons mind worms.
Trey Kings/Qliphotic HorrorsNOTE: This group is still under revision.
- Adjusted damage types to Toxic.
- The Trey Kings have gained the ability to apply Poison (Damage over Time), Noxious Poison (AoE Damage over Time) and Debilitating Poison (-Toxic Resistance) through some of their attacks.
Manipulator
- Now uses Aura of Ebon Destruction.
Qliphothic Acolyte
- Now uses Aura of Radiant Protection.
- Now uses Planar Fracture.
- Now uses a group shield.

Shadow Eruption does a full charge automatically when you activate it.
On the Unity Tokens, the cap for it should be increased to 9999 since all the other recog got removed. Heck, why not just increase the cap for all the recognitions?

Bug/Issue:
The Destroyer helmet lacks a surface at the back of the mask, makes it reeaaal awkward without covering up!

Due to players blinking, one eye does the crazy-twitch whenever you blink, as shown below:

Specular:Gold Specular doesn't work the same way for the helmet as the rest, causing a hardly noticeable change to the shading, but nothing else.
The gloves also have this issue, at least when tested on the male model.

Female currently only has the helmet "Shadow Destroyer", hands "Armor Destroyer" and hip layer "Shadpw Destroyer", missing the shoulders and chest layer entirely. Aside from the typo on the hip piece, I would suggest naming all the pieces "Shadow Destroyer", keeping the search function reliable and effective.
Bug:
Some of the pieces are inconsistent when first equipped, namely the shoulderpieces and their capes. Room for a quality-of-life improvement:

As shown above, the two shoulders also have completely different cape options, one having the mystic strands, while the other has traditional cape patterns. I suggest giving either both options, as I'm sure is the intention anyway!

Changes to the way we gain Justice Gear need to be taken back to the drawing board.
Currently whilst it is annoying because nothing is guaranteed, this change essentially enforces that...PLUS a requirement for an absurd about of SCR and GCR.
Unless these missions are dropping like...20 SCR per mission or something...this is going to be very very negative and will dissuade anyone except those who are already endgame geared from running this content. Which, would be a massive shame because it is actually a very very nice place and good content.
We already have players who don't run things like TA or Cosmics because they are wholly unappealing and only run Rampages and other content, no need to add this update to the list.
Whilst it is nice to see Justice Gear turned into more SCR/GCR friendly...you should then remove the token requirement altogether.
I'd SUGGEST doing one or two of the following:
* We should be allowed to convert our Rampage tokens into SCR and GCR.
* Revise the price of Justice Gear to this: 150 SCR and 90 GCR + 2 superdense diamonds and 2 [Insert appropriate token type]
* Allow players to now pool SCR and GCR resources using our hideout banks. You do not lose anything by doing this because the same amount of effort is put in. If I am using my main or my alt, it is still my time investment and that should be respected instead of disregarded. The game used to be very alt friendly but seems to have recently moved towards punishing you for wanting to gear more than one character.
* Adjust the drop rates in rampages to be less RNG more assured drop, there is nothing more annoying than spending time in a rampage and not being rewarded for it appropriately (i.e. a token). IF there ARE plans to adjust Rampages, PLEASE do NOT go forward with these Justice price changes UNTIL those Rampages have been adjusted in terms of difficulty and reward.

Thoughts on Mind Drain:
I figured there'd be a little bone thrown at Telepathy, good to see I wasn't wrong anyways:
* Mechanics for this power as well as the initial maintained animation are pretty pleasing at the moment.
* It's basically an ego damage version of Lifedrain (as noted), so the energy cost is pretty much where it should be IMO, however it should benefit from Mentalist power cost reductions from ID Mastery, Ego Form and Congress of Selves. Currently it does not as Lifedrain and Mind Drain have identical energy costs.
* Adjust where it sits on the All Powers window, it is listed as a HEALING power, whilst Lifedrain is listed as a RANGED ATTACK power.

Mind Drain: Allow Mind Drain to benefit from Mentalist Cost reductions from ID Mastery, Ego Form and Congress of Selves.

Mind Drain: Is listed as a heal power whilst Lifedrain is in the Ranged Attack category. Either move Lifedrain to "Healing" category or move Mind Drain to "Ranged Attack" category within their respective power sets.

Mind Drain: STEAL Courtney Olmacher's VFX for this power's maintain!! Note: Courtney's maintain is not actually a power but is a VFX only, so it won't be attached to a power. Just make it thicker and "cooler" (I refer to the pink semi circle like chains from my character's head to his (whilst he is trying to use Bite). Perhaps change the way it 'moves' so it looks like it's draining from your enemy and boosting you? IIRC his maintain looks like a constant back and forth stream.
Oh! Bonus points if you make the end of the maintain shatter like his psychic link does! Bit difficult to see here, but the "tally marks" near my character's hands is what happens when you shatter the link:

Mind Drain: Use some older SFX from Telepathy for this power's maintain. Something like Empathic Healing or some "mentalist" sounding maintain (not TKA). Older Telepathy has nice sounds mostly, please re use them or variants of them for telepathy powers. (#SaveMindBreakFromItsAwfulSound2016)

Halve the Silver Champions Recognition & Gold Champion Recognition cost for Mind Drain (or just get rid of its cost) - Mind Drain's cost for SCR/GCR...is stupid. Halve the needed amounts for this power and the rest which are priced similarly. 250 SCR and 125 GCR for Mind Drain, Shadow Eruption & Hydra. Better yet...just let Mind Drain and Shadow Eruption be free powers. There is already plenty in that store to spend stuff on.

Make the objects, like the books, usable while your affected by DoTs. Having to wait out the poison every time you want to use one get annoying fast.
Edit: I also really agree with theravenforce that we should be able to acquire or sell GCR with other recog tokens.
Which is just AWFUL.

If the goal is to make people queue less often for Rampages, this is a step in the right direction. Why bother with the Rampage grind at all when people can just slap around a few more giant animals or clones and, for 25 additional GCR, they can opt out of Rampage RNG entirely and get BiS gear?
I suppose an alternative approach would also be to add GCR to Rampage rewards somehow, but I like what the guy I quoted suggested better. This is something deep-rooted within the Cryptic engine in general, because this same thing happens in STO and it's extremely annoying.
*Needs specifics & more information to better understand what it should be doing, so I'll reserve judgement until it is updated.

*Current power description states that it applies a stun, but it does not actually apply any sort of stun to targets, only knocks them back, so I'm guessing either its a direct rip from Shady D (his stuns I think) OR, it's meant to be an advantage. Either way, it stacks Manipulator, so something is wrong.
*Shadow Eruption has a forced charge. This should probably be removed. I think the knock back and stun should only occur on full charge, whilst spam taps just apply a lower end of damage.
*This power is basically like a better TK Maelstrom, so probably needs a cool down on par with TK Maelstrom (Ignore this piece of feedback if the power is NOT meant to innately stun).

Well, I don't agree with the other means to obtain GCR other than Cosmics or Epic Lairs. Unless you make it an even greater grind to make players realize, "Hey... you can do it your way, but Cosmics and Epic lairs gain you GCR many times better.".
- Mind Drain is a fun & thematic Mind power (Thank You!!!) Energy costs seems a bit high. I like the animation suggestion Ravenforce mentioned. That would look very cool. I'm disappointed that this power will cost SCR & GCR --- as it rounds out the weak telepathy set so nicely. C'est la Vie.
- Any chance that other pets in the mind tree can learn to cast any of the telepathy debuffs? I.E Psychic Vortex and Summon Nightmare? The debuffs are nice and would make those pet powers a bit more desirable than they are now.
Overall, thank you for new toys for telepathic builds to play with.
Prices can generally more easily be lowered as opposed to raised. Reach your conclusions instead of jumping to them. You'll give better feedback and have a much better shot at affecting change if you actually play things through before saying the first thing that comes to mind.

The only positive to this update is that it looks like a proper Rampage with Zone dedication.

EDIT: After finally getting done with the missions, I took a battle against Obbie, and holy jesus, her dps is WAY too high. She pretty much one shot me no matter what I did, blocking or not. Hope it will come down some.
A: Make the cost in SCR only, that way people can not only get it in a reasonable amount of time, but players that don't live in the US have a chance at getting it without having to stay up until 3AM on a work night to get enough players for the cosmics/TA
B: Massively reduce the cost...by at least half.
C: Change rampages to drop GCR, SCR and the required tokens.
outside of your foolish decision about justice gear, the rest of the changes are looking rather promising...provided you increase all of the recog caps to 9999..other wise things just become annoying.

Also, wow you people. They make the literal objectively best gear in the game actually require that you do content matching its reward level instead of just being able to leech in alerts all day, and you just start moaning and whining. This is the most legitimate case of entitlement I've seen in awhile. I've been disgusted by how easily they've handed out justice gear since it was introduced, (not that it should have ever been introduced in the first place since we were already absolutely destroying everything in the game already with just heroic/legion gear, and still are, but too late for any argument there).
Here's an idea to try before immediately complaining and saying you quit or whatever: Go play the game, like, go do the new content and stuff... They're legitimately trying to give us content for the first time in years guys! Yeesh, this community...
Also: Holy hell, you guys actually managed to get Stalc to forum post for the first time nearly 7 years of playing the game because even he can't believe the immediate knee jerk complaints over justice gear acquisition change and total ignorance of A WHOLE ZONE OF CONTENT TO DO, (even if it is just endgame dailies)....

Suggestion: Drop the number of books required to around 8 or so. Otherwise, this particular quest is going to take a much longer amount of time than the other two. Unless that's intended. Given the SCR/Heroic trainwreck that remains to this day, can you really blame people for being nervous when version 2.0 rears its ugly head?
Besides, it's important for the devs to be aware that a fair amount of their playerbase doesn't appreciate changes which make the game less accessible and less enjoyable. Multiple paths to gear (GCR for Distinguished, Rampage token RNG for Justice) was just fine and didn't need to be changed like this.
While I intend to wait and see what happens from here, I'm still concerned.

Endbringer's Grasp - Corruption Mechanic: Reduce the time needed to activate Corruption on targets from 3 seconds to 1 second. The power is pretty fixed and enemies can move around freely as it does not apply any sort of snare or movement reduction whilst active (it probably should, to maximize Corruption)

Bug?: Lore points cannot be taken again if you've already interacted with them once, meaning you have to find TWELVE DIFFERENT lore points across the given area for that mission, which is quite a drag. Normal interaction points for stuff either vanish and later respawn for you to use again (see Biotechnical Difficulties in MC) or allow you to reuse the same objective location multiple times.

If tokens were guaranteed? Then yes, I could see your "disgust" by how easily Justice is handed out. But currently? Unless you are farming the hell out of Rampages...you are not going to see tokens very often if at all.
Actually, in the past two rotations I have not seen any of the following: Superdense Diamond, Destreum Bearing, Hypercooled Ignimbrite or Petrified Scale.
And yes, I have run rampages multiple times (over 10 times) on different characters and just received 'worthless' rewards for my time.
There is a valid reason for the sour feedback that such a proposed change to Justice has given rise to. Justice Gear now requires too much.
Justice has always required you to participate in available content, but now it practically forces people to run content which to some is highly unappealing for various reasons.
It is serving to widen the gear divide instead of closing it. Not many people who post on forums are not running TA or Cosmics, so our opinion on stuff may likely be biased in favor because we have grown accustomed to such missions.
That isn't the case for everyone and that is something which should be understood.
Granted, this is not the final update and we may see that missions grant...20 SCR and 5 GCR from the missions and perhaps more from the dailies and that mobs in that zone have a chance to drop SCR on kill but right now, this is looking like a very sour change alongside a very cool content addition.

The second mission is a race as well, except there are too few Dark Disciples. I ran into the same problem; with only about 4 other people (2 teams of 2 players) taking them out as well, it was a chore completing that mission as the Dark Disciples do not respawn quickly.
The third mission is pretty straighforward, except for the Nightmare Demolisher. In my opinion, there was no reason to add toxic damage to this powerful enemy. You can sustain up to 5 stacks of poison debuff damage from one aoe knock attack.
Suggestion: Please consider using the empty floating platforms to place more books and mobs.
Suggestion: Please reduce the toxic damage of the Nightmare Demolisher.

That logic, of course, makes most of the people who already have Justice Gear massive leeches. Which is just plain rude.
The devs have floated this Justice+ GCR idea before, it got a negative reaction. They didn't listen. It will not improve player participation, it will simply make people not play the existing content (Rampages) because they are not sufficient in and of themselves to obtain the gear if they don't like the Epic stuff. If they want to make the higher level gear tied to participation then Justice Gear should only be obtainable via GCR and a new category of equipment put into Rampages only, with a system which rewards repeated replaying, rather than the aggravating RNG.
Any way. Off to the new stuff, let's see what it's like.
While I consider it nice that the enemies are using more tactics and powers, the fact the elder worms can seemingly stack slows on players without end tends to be a bit annoying. 5 stacks already is quite limiting but I've had 8 on me and probably can get more. This might need to be capped off.

I don't know if the amount of resources we are getting for some kills are accurate. I am seeing numbers as low as 400 but also as high as over 1,000. I am not considering the easy kill of the one boss since he was bugged, and gave over 11,000 resources, but that seems excessive amounts, to me.

I want to play this game, dang it. I want new content like this. I want story. I want an excuse to play to get stuff without doing rampages all the time which was extremely tedious, boring, and I never bothered with it. I'm going to go test it out myself but to be able to get Justice Gear through doing NEW content? Like, actual story that continues on what we've been playing?
Sign me up, please. I want to play this game! I don't want to just come on for roleplay events and that's it. I want to do more so maybe this is a good change. I am going to test it out, give it a shot and then write something more later.
