it's not fun to play a game where everything is difficult to an extreme in a normal game in modern times
Easy games are everywhere and it's refreshing to see a game that's actually hard or unforgiving of your mistakes. I can't see how being able to button mash blindfolded to victory doesn't get old.
I don't expect CO to become hard, but all I can see are people being upset that it will only be really easy instead of super easy to make characters that trivialize all the content.
that must be that block(which I sometimes remember to use and thats ones I bought a block for)
challenges? if its hard, its hard, if its easy, its easy. I'm not bothered either way.
casual, yes I'm in it for the alts....Which partially explains some of my builds. As long as it works, I'm not really bothered about deaths. res and run. (well except in Gravitar or Warlord)
Smackwell, nice to see someone else with a half arsed approach to builds.
I had one that I simply forgot to do any leveling on from 33-40. I did eventually remember to do the spec tree
What I did like in Rift was finding odd puzzles in(bloody awkward) places. Which required a lot of thinking, while hoping the mobs near you didn't notice.
or to really confuse people. helping out an 'enemy' player in a contested zone by attacking the thign that was killing them. wave at them, then wander off. Some of the other side were doign the same thing
Nope. Smart thing would be to make some entire instances that are just more challenging. You stay out of ours, we'll stay out of yours, everyone's happy.
You know... the same way they seperate the kindergardeners from the college students?:rolleyes:
Why not simply rework the difficulty system? That is already in place. Make elite more challenging, increase the rewards. Maybe a popup when you enter a dungeon, you can choose the difficulty and can see the bonus rewards for a higher setting.
They could simply offer some q, or a mod or just some small reward. Not so much that you feel you have to play elite but a little extra if you want the challenge and manage it.

They can't do that. Sure, the ""casuals(?)"" agree with you now, but the second the devs actually implement more challenging content with better rewards, even slightly better, the ""casuals(?)"" will start crying that they're being locked out of those better rewards.
Not sure if you've been here for the debates over the years, but that is literally where it always goes.
Personally, I want challenging content in more than just dungeons and adventure packs. I'd like to see some "elite" open world missions.. just mark em with a special symbol in the mission log so the weenies know to stay away.
And yeah, I agree with the idea that more challenging content should give better rewards... stuff like BoE costume pieces and AFs, maybe even special types of mods or whatever. Of course, if you wait a minute, I'm sure someone in this very thread will give you an example of how casuals react when you start talking about better rewards for challenging content like that...
^
This. don't force increased difficulty on anyone for anything. see This thread, I made a suggestion regarding this which also would encourage more team play.
No one actually mentioned forcing anything on anyone... in fact, it's always the casual side trying to force everyone to run lame ezmode content because they want the entire game to stay that way. You know like how you keep constantly saying that people prefer the game to be easy so leave everything easy...
Oh wait no... you were claiming the game isn't easy....
Wait... how can you be claiming both of those things? u_u

Yup, this has unfortunately happened many times in the past here.

Well I am relatively new to champions but I have been playing STO since beta. And it is more or less the same in that regard. Although they sometimes do try to make something a little more difficult (followed by the community crying like they were butchering little puppies).
Nevertheless they do have elite versions with better rewards of some content (mind you elite is still a cakewalk). Also CO got the cybermind alert "recently". Something of that difficulty in STO would have led to uprisings and most likely massive bloodshed. And with the fire and ice thing they are designing I would say they are not that afraid to throw a bit of a challenge at the players.
Now if they would introduce something here, even with only 2 settings. Like normal and elite (team). Than just state a big warning that the mission is meant for a full group. That way they can justify making it a bit harder and maybe even pose a bit of challenge to a solo player. I think something like that could work even in a casual game like CO.
They could also take the existing lairs and make them queueable. Make a normal and an elite version. Offer some questionite as reward, a little more for elite. Maybe go so far and throw in some marks as currency, sell gear for the marks.
So everything is obtainable by running normal, elite gives the same only faster. Elite would probably not be that challenging since it still is casual game but it would be start. If it works in STO I see no reason why it would not work here.

We don' like this sort of sensible talk in these parts. You got 'til sunset to move on.
Actually, I was responding to the spinny person ( the one I quoted). My comment was not directed at you. Hence the reason I didn't quote you Gradii.
I don't respond as if they're about me.
I respond as if they're about things that I have an interest in.
Because they are.
Same as you and everyone else
After all, if people only responded to posts directed at themselves, then most of these threads wouldn't actually get past the OP :P

actually my idea was to have the rewards be the same, but just to increase the chances of the best ones dropping.
Responds to the previous post as if it had been directed at him, even though he is pointing out that he is not one of the people demanding the whole game be kept easy, thereby pointing out that the post he is responding to wasn't even directed at him!
ok but can we stop the borderline forum bullying of me now and get back on topic please?
I really don't think you know what happened...I was defending you in my first post by telling the spinny thing to lay off you. From there it all got kind of confusing. I hate forum bullies.
You are about as sharp as a bag of wet mice, mate.
Have you ever been bitten by a mouse? I can assure you, they are quite sharp. And if they were wetted and stuffed in a bag en masse, I imagine that they'd be even more inclined to bite.

In reply to this, I didn't see any change to defence and I haven't read the entire thread so I probably missed out on a lot of random stuff.
