It's only the hardest thing we could possibly ask them to do, don't worry! :D

So to have what we want in a game that we are supposedly all paying for, we need to give even more money to a company that doesn't want to invest in it proper product?

    No, thank you.

    No, thank you.

You're saying the only thing that is worth them working on is the foundry?

Not all the bugs, or the balance issues. Not new alerts to keep us interesting. No, no lets not have any of this infact lets say no we don't want auras thankyou.

Let's rally together to tell cryptic we want to wait a year or more by which time they would have lost the community and too much money to continue but we'll wait the year to get that foundry which probably will be fairly buggy if rushed.

You are talking as if it's this or nothing which makes me laugh. Sorry. :)

Well, you extrapolate what you wish to extrapolate. Just as I'm not the kind of person who's pre-paying for games nor adds-on (as certain as you can be to have them), I'm allready paying PW to have a better entertainment experience with this game (which includes correcting bugs, server maintenance and adding new content).

This + the fact that I personally think KickStarter should be for projects with no means and independance from big publishers. (but that's just a matter of opinion)

I'm not saying I don't want the foundry. I'm saying I'm not taking the job off the publisher's hand.

Not to take this off topic. But yes, in STO there is no reward at all for foundry missions. The mobs will still give XP for defeating them, but that is it. No xp, no cash, no prize at the end. I'm certain this was done as a way to prevent player abuse.

As a token offer to this problem. STO offers a daily reward similar to alerts where you can do 3 foundry missions to get a fixed daily reward. But all this has done is to create a ton of missions where the goal is to click on a terminal or two to get your daily done as fast as possible.

It is for this reason I have mixed feelings about the foundry. As a player the idea of a whole community being able to tell stories and express themselves with a new set of story telling tools is awesome. As a gamer, I know most of this will simply be ignored as it offers little gains. One only needs to look at White out for proof. Awesome story, mood, and setting....but so woefully underused.

Um, don't foundry missions (or a subset thereof) award dilithium ore? I'm pretty sure they do.

    Also: Yes, please.

I can't believe this waste of space thread is still open. While I love that fact that we as a community still show we wish for the foundry, this thread continues to be ignored by Cryptic.

Add to the fact that Cryptic has stated several times there is no Foundry in CO's future.

    # 1 The Foundry: THIS JUST IN!

Problem with THIS JUST IN being in the subject line is that implies new info. Since there is none, perhaps we should just lock this old tread and begin a new one if folks want to talk about or add new info.

I'm a new player. I think subbing is totally worth it. The Freeform character is so cool. You can do a lot of awesome stuff with it. I'm gonna stick around for a while. And even moreso if the Foundry ever gets added.

    Supergroup bases first, please.

With a basic implementation of supergroup bases with rooms and connecting corridors, they can stagger out the work of tagging of assets in the game and other UGC technology hookup and preparation by giving us a limited selection of map kits and tagged assets, which go to just one map our supergroup can access.

With the release of each and every asset pack over the course of the next year into the questionite store, they gradually build up to a state where they can wrap up the Foundry's implementation on the back-end and "turn it on" with some degree of confidence.
    Brou in Cryptic games.

    Yes, please. :D

Players created SO many good missions and mission arcs with Foundry in Star Trek Online, and with Architect Entertainment in City of Heroes before that. Champions Online could benefit SO much from an influx of user-generated content, and those of us who love the Nemesis system (but have been disappointed at the lack of attention it's received in recent years) would enjoy the opportunity to tell more Nemesis stories that Foundry could provide.

With cherries on top. And whip cream perhaps. Delectable foundry.

If it were at all possible, I'd like a hideout revamp to accompany this. The same customization as Sg bases but on a smaller scale. The current hideouts... while nice... aren't what I looked forward to.

Also. Yay maybe/maybe not future foundry!

I say stuff and I say things, sometimes together but only when I'm feeling adventurous.

    I'm @blu8 in game! :D

trolling or no idea what everyone here is talking about?

just in case it is the second, we are talking about the program used to create missions including maps by players. Just like in STO & Neverwinter.
why would we require 10 copies of the same program?

Thank you for the explanation Jedeite. I didn't know there was a limit per account.
I think with the Founders pack you get more, it certainly allows you access earlier..

But anyway, here we get told it's a 'tech issue' despite STO being made at the same time as CO. After a year of fiddling, theres works, we're still waiting.

Mind you, as of last year STO had 50 devs, don't know how many NW has but hirings were done in the first 4 months to add to both those teams.
