    Close match. Darkened was catching hell out there ;)

    I do love a good CO PvP video. There are lots of them out there but I haven't seen a thread for a long time. Let's see some more.

    This is and oldie but I really think it's a great video so I like to repost it from time to time. Don't know if this person even plays anymore.

    Will record something.. once.. I get free disk space (15 minutes of footage -> 45-90gb, and I just had ~1-2 tb of footage from other games I had to go through first.. allways fun when you try and make a pvp video with black and white intro and linkin park music but realize FFS all I recorded was GANKING FREAKIN NOOBS t.t )... get ready for mindless keyspamming xD

    This might be a good place to talk about the best way to capture video.

    I use ZD Soft screen capture software and selected 30fps and the DV Video Encoder codec. The results look pretty good, the action is smooth, but the colors look kind of grey. I set the movie dimensions to 640x400px. For seven minutes of footage the file size came in at about 1.5gigs. I'll post the video when it's done uploading.

    I am sure people use different techniques than I, but I use FRAPS to record 30FPS avi files (several gigs, ofc, but I have a big HD) and I normally record in 1280x720 resolution (although my monitor supports 1080p). CO is the one game I play in windowed mode, so its FRAPS renders end up letterboxed. I usually try to avoid that.

    I use Sony Vegas Pro 11 for all of my editing, effects, text generation, motion tracking, etc. I then export to 720p 30FPS wmv files (which visual quality doesn't seem to suffer any loss). This makes my 5minute video maybe 120 MB, so it's relatively youtube-friendly.

    well.... the last video I uploaded to youtube was 2.4 gb I think.. for 15 mins.. but that was just the recording of one single game.. I usually edit a few games together and put funky (free and therefor legal) music in the background.. but that 2.4gb were converted down fron 50gb of files :/


    fluent video > aspect ratio > full HD

    and thankfully I can record 1080p 30 fps with champions could go higher... but the graphics of the game are not good enough to justify 60fps videos

    (it's just a bugtest video a friend recorded on my machine to prove that archetypes are indeed bugged xD http://youtu.be/oacfDri_Ap8 but here that's the usual quality I do my stuff in.. right now there are a few more swtor and rift videos in my channel (most of them without sound) )

    I usually like to record my videos with the Demo Editor (assuming it doesn't BREAK EVERYTHING), and then get some nice angles. Also lets you focus on people other than yourself for the footage. Play back/record in 1280x800 or 1280x768, which gives headroom to crop out the Demo Editor console and produce a 720p video. \o/

    It does produce massive videos, though. I've got almost 200GB of videos that need editing and then deletion. HDD getting full. >_>

    Perhaps I shall record some PVP videos the next time we get some good groups rolling!

    I don't know anything about the demo editor, can you explain how it works? If it's anything like the video editing in GTA IV on PC then I am very excited :-)

    Yep! Lots of information there. It's very cool, and lets you make some pretty nifty videos once you learn how to map the camera paths.

    One word of warning, the Demo files get boggy fast. I made the mistake of recording some 10+ minutes of straight footage, which takes foreeever to load and can crash/become corrupt. So, my suggestion is to stop the demo recorder every time you die and start a new one (copy/paste the command and just add a 1, 2, 3, etc. to the end of the filename) thereafter. If you're the type that isn't dying, then do it during lulls in the fight.

    Also, the range at which it will display character models is relative entirely to your character's POV. So unfortunately you can't really do something like watch the entire SH match, from both sides, after it's over (it does render the map, but not the entities). I'd say the range is 150' to 250' from your character. Enough to capture most fights going on around you.

    It's fun, though! I think you'll like it. Also, it lets you forget about recording things like Ventrilo chat and background computer sounds like recording live PVP.

    I love demorecord. I especially love slowing down the playback for a little extra drama. The only thing about the demo playback is it doesn't show player names or lifebars or scores or anything. That's stuff I like to see in a PvP video. Is there a way to get that kind of info to show?

    I actually tried running screen capture and demorecord at the same time, thinking I could splice the footage together later. Crashed the game after a couple minutes of course.

    Believe or not, I have concept, and its just cute or not, or it will fit my toons' costume or not, so, I have some power I can't use. xD

    Taking balance both of power and outfit is the most fun thing in this game. :D

    Taking video or watching someones, will be good way to know some builds merit and also weak point. And also we can think about tactics.
    For sample, my Jewel Peach has good critical chance and severity (and also bit Tank) but so weak to knock and stealth and some DPS. You can know it from by my video.

    Or, my Stronghold one, I want everyone to know how many times I run to console in each match. And even being defeat and defeat and defeat, I still run to enemy boss and hit them... For put pressure on opponent team (Keep pushing up front line is so important at Stronghold.)

    Anyway, build or tactical discussions, we can move to other thread. I don't mind someone copy&paste my youtube URL anywhere. :D


    Ill help ya if you need taking video, My "Sigils of Radiant Sanctuary" one was taken that way, cause someone wanted to know opponent view of "How my stealth work to opponent team". :)

    I appreciate your videos, they are filling my CO void right now. My PC is down at the moment, today I should receive my new motherboard/cpu though so hopefully I can get back to contributing to this thread :-)

    I just wanted to say that its sad people hiding their overpowered Builds instead of try to tell cryptic that this game need more balanced. In other games Cheaters get banned.

    I'm impressed that you apparently use mouse on powers bar control, and haven't set the tooltip delay way up to avoid having it pop up information about the power you're using.

    I'm not well to use controller. xD
    So, my build and each powers' arrangement, are all optimized for Mouse & Keyboard control.
    (Like power for attack left, self-heal right, insta-active powers are all above and like that.)


    And I want to see pop up so I can know how buffs effect to each power.

    Well, I don't have any time to see it during fight, but I can see it afterward from video. :D

    Not just holds, roots, and knocks, there are many many things are happening in same time like interrupts, stealth, snipe, or like, "Someone is using some power without using Energy Builder, why?" or "Someone is hell TANK but I can't see his Defensive Slotted Passive... why?" etc, etc...

    We can figure out whats happening and what everyone are doing and what can we do. I wish my video will be some kind of hint for you. :D
