make WALK toggle

Please make walk toggle. Just for the sake of roleplaying. I think you should promote roleplaying and walking is just nice after a hard day of hero work. But like this, you cant even jump easily with walk on. And honestly, having a thumb on some key all the time is not fun at all.

I have walk set to mouse 1 plus mouse 2. Since I mouselook with mouse2 anyway, it isn't an ordeal to walk that way.

I'm pretty sure there was a way to do this, when I finally get in the game (10% left of a 300 MB patch to go), I'll try and figure out how I did it before.

I like that when you use the 360 controller, walking is simply a matter of pushing the stick only slightly forward. So nice.

Hmm, maybe someone can explain it for dumbs like me? :-)
I tried that. But how do I bind it to specific key. It seems to do nothing.

I use for example /bind ; ++walk but it does nothing.

You can also hotkey the walk from the keybinds in your options. It just doesn't have a default keybind like it does in WoW.

Using the /bind command, do you walk only as long as you hold the key down, or do you just need to press it once to toggle between walk and run?

Ok now. I just tried to bind "unbindable" key :-)
    Thanks for an answer.

If I remember the syntax correctly (since it appears to work just like City of Heroes):

Typing /bind key ++walk will set the key up to be a toggle.
Typing /bind key +walk will set the key up so that it needs to be held down to work.

The extra "plus" makes the difference. :)

Is there some reason you want to walk and not run? Run is already toggle-able.

It's been like 3 years since I played CoH so I don't know the binds anymore. What I need is toggle jump for Super Jump.
    I'll try ++jump

There are many people who like to Walk for RP reasons.
Just because you might never want to do that doesn't mean no one wants to.

I'm not sure if there's a way to make jump a toggle. Even if you could I wouldn't make that be the same key as the standard space bar jump anyway. That'd be far too weird to deal with in a combat situation. ;)

OK, next question: How do you clear a bind if you decide it isn't optimal? I ask because I am now stuck walking, and I can't seem to turn it off.

Would like to know how to unbind a key also, if any of you CoH alumni or backslash command genii would be kind enough to oblige.

Oh, and thanks for making us aware of this Coderanger.

/unbind, I would guess (at least that's what it is in COH)

Makes sense, thanks for the suggestion Myopic.

I'm off to try some dangerous, yet well informed, keybinding experiments.
