Power armour abilities

I’ve recently fallen in love with power armour, i honestly don’t know why I didn’t try it before but there are a few things it needs in my eyes.
1) an alternative energy unlock. Overdrive doesn’t work for abilities like power gauntlet chest beam and energy wave, I’ve tried but if you have a build using these abilities overdrive is a no drive.
2) concussive blasts could use an advantage that turns it into a beam AOE to fit in with the rest of the abilities and trigger specialisation conditions I’d even sacrifice the repell for this which often doesn’t help much.
3) an alternate ultimate, the old one is dated, it’s not bad but both aesthetically and practically it could be better. I’d suggest an alternative: chest beam overload - considered a chest, shoulder and hand slot because it thematically takes all power from all systems is a 100m beam aoe with burn through and plasma burn. With a 1 point advantage for tanks increasing threat and a one point advantage for everyone else either a small heap over time or charged up for utility.
4) shoulder slot has 2 physical options and one energy option (eye beams) I’d suggest adding another beam shoulder slot - energy cannons, aesthetically some people like eye beams but I really don’t, so I just wish there was an alternative toggle to use, inspired by the costume unlock that adds two huge cannons on your back I thought “wouldn’t that be awesome if those were a costume unlock for an actual ability” in terms of the debuff I do like 2020 fission which is why I still use eye beam, so I guess this is just an aesthetic thing, that said the energy cannons could be single target beams but have a point advantage to change the damage type to sonic and become a tight cone AOE.

I can imagine people might have more to say about the actual mechanics of power armour but these are just the bits that if I could make any changes to a power set that I’d put at the top of my list.

    Honestly the non-toggle PA powers could use an overhaul at some point, as either a secondary progression track within the set, or moved to their own brand new set entirely. Right now, they're lonely orphans without a proper place to go.
    (Hopefully) Useful CO Resources: HeroCreator (character planner), Cosmic Timers/Alert Checklist, Blood Moon Map, Anniversary Cat Map, and more (eventually, anyway).

    From what I’ve heard so far I don’t think they’d get their own set. The non toggles do work with concentration which I’ve tested but there synergy with power unlocks is an issue, chest beam and energy wave can be used with pulveriser but the ability power gauntlet has no synergy with any energy unlock, strangely it deals less damage than tactical missile but I don’t know if the trade off of having an interrupt is worth the damage loss it’s a shame because this is one of the best looking blast abilities in my personal opinion. Also chest beam is actually pretty good… the charge time is a bit bothersome and drops the possible DPS down… it’s the one ability from the non toggles that despite its drawbacks is actually ok.

    The energy issue with power armor is that it's does high dps. However wish I could get some move to work more fluent with other powers. Im not saying they need to change how it works.

    If they make the energy too good then they will nerf the damage in the process and that would be bad for the delayed powers. And make too much builds way to similar in how they work. I rather they fix it to work better with existing energy forms. Like making the knock ability more probable. Repels, bleeds and what not.

    Or fix the Lazer Sword Energy to give PA a reasonable benefit.

    What I think we really need is few new powers to balance out the gaps between.

    Because the only two chest slots are way too identical add..

    A new Chest PA Slot:
    Plusion Wave
    *A malfunction in your suit causes a 25ft cone of static enegry locks and slowly pulls enemies towards you triggering repel and occasional knock down. But chance to knock everything back. Good for tanks and CC.

    Melee PA moves:
    *Turn chainsaw gauntlet into a Hand Slot. This will not affect how it is used.
    *Or make up for this by giving us a normal chainsaw power for humans as an alternative in gadgets.


    New Ultimate
    Quantum Cannon:
    Sacrifice all your energy to fire a devastating beam. Does epic damage but murders your energy regeneration for a 7 seconds. While halfing your health bar.
    CAN BE CUSTOMISED TO FIRE THE LAZER FROM HEAD, CHEST, OR PALMS. Doesn't need to be a shoulder cannon. But use the FX of this:

    I definitely think there’s more potential in PA for more abilities and cross power set synergies, and moves with different mechanics. That ultimate sounds awesome. Needs to be full range too!

    On top of that it’d be nice to have a power display for the power armour weapons, maybe even cosmetics for those slot attatchments.
    Also whilst talking about beams and missiles why not expand the machine guns from just mini gun, maybe wrist sub machine guns and or shotgun, shoulder anti-material rifle ect… imagine war machine from the Ironman comics and movies.
