I have been poking around UNITY2, but haven't found anything yet... there are 4 final instance paths though, so a complete dig will take time, and it's entirely possible to miss something if the pixelbitching is set to ultra-granular.

I can't bring myself to deal with the MC UNITY missions yet though.
  • grievehartgrievehart Posts: 191 Arc User
Have redone unity 1 and 2 missions today and yesterday.
Found nothing new, but it's not significative: my chars are currently unable to get the 7th creepy thanks to fenny plush af being unaccessable until christmas, so big chances next steps will remain locked for me until that time.

But i bring your attention on that old pre on alert item called "coalesced qliphotic fragment", still obtainable in unity 1 missions (through the purple qliphoth portals appearing sometimes in instanced missions), and which could be (or not), considering his nature, an item requierement for next step.

So if you are lucky enough to have creepy 7th unlocked, try to farm some of those items and interact with things that are still mysterious today:

-the recent discovered spiral cheshire cat in vb
-the mysterious teddies dolls in PHs
    -the strange pets in MC
    -the first creepies in qwz
-anything else weird enough to justify a check

We already tried tossing Qliphotic Coalesced Energy into various things. Of course maybe more quantities are needed, or you need that + something else. Or maybe it's something completely different.

I might just be chasing a ghost, but here's a theory I'm pursuing:

A while back, the colors of some mods were changed to help differentiate them. The new color scheme of the enhancement mods bears a similarity to the color wheel on Spiral's booth. The colors aren't perfect, but the hues were close enough to pique my interest:
    image

As was mentioned, the UNITY 1 Special Assignment missions contain a Qliphotic tear that drops Coalesced Qliphotic Energy:
    image

Bringing the Energy to Spiral or Fenny did not appear to have an effect. But when you convert the energy, you get a random Rank 1 Armoring stat mod.

At first, I was hoping that the chip in the pink wedge of the wheel meant that if you get a pink (Presence?) mod, you win the "game of chance". That doesn't seem to be the case.

Next, I wanted to check if carrying a full set of Rank 1 Armoring mods from the Essences would bring up a prompt on Spiral. That's where I'm hitting a wall. I've converted over 100 Coalesced Qliphotic Energies and received zero Ego mods. The other seven stack counts are now in double-digits.

I might just be extremely unlucky with RNG. Or the drop table might be bugged. Or this might all be completely unrelated to Creepies. But maybe sharing it here can spark some other ideas. Any thoughts?

Just wanna go ahead and thank everyone who has so far contributed to this. I've just started and I've worked out and been helped along to this point as well. Will have to do some thinking on this! Hopefully I can pitch in too!

This is a very unusual yet not unwelcome addition! (I am glad I had the sense to set down my cup of tea before...well...dealing with Fenny)
  • chaosdrgnz43chaosdrgnz43 Posts: 1,654 Arc User
Coalesced Q energy was just a leftover from the previous crafting system. Old crafting ingredients also turn into r1 mods. I also though the same thing about the game of chance's wheel, but I realized that the point was just fixed at pink.

Speaking of... game of chance is a gambling game. Only gambling area in CO I know of is S.S. Bayou Queen. Maybe there's a clue there.

I had a similar thought and was cruising all the casinos in VB. Obviously you can't get inside em, but I was scouting the doors. And also, the fortune teller, but if there was anything there, it required and activation item/event/perk I was lacking, or my timing was off, or maybe I just wasn't standing in the precise right spot... or it's all nothing.

After about 10 minutes of searching, was able to find one of Sammie's Dollies and obtain a token!! This is quite a nice thing to participate in...albeit a little frustrating at times :bleep_bloop:

I found something in the VB bank. The three clocks state these times in this order: 300 600 1152
    Might be coordinates for somewhere.

It's cool that the mods match colors on the wheel, and there are crafting tables very close by to Spiral, and that crafting is a "game of chance".

What are all the games of chance btw?
    - Crafting
    - Lockboxes (don't think this will be anything based on what Kais has said)
    - any others?

Spiral's messages, while also spelling out UNITY, are consistent with the sort of things one might find in a magic 8-Ball, an Oragami 'fortune teller', etc. So beside the fortune teller in VB, are there any similarly themed locations or store-fronts in VB or other zones?

There is one other...Magic Chakra shop in VB, but I'd have to search for it again. I saw it yesterday...didn't see anything outside it

I tried to fuse a stack of pre mods in front of him, since the notch is on the pink one, but that seemed to have no effect.

    Latest lead (maybe)....

    Unlikely
    No
    Iffy
    Travesty
    You

Really believe the true clue is here.
I continue to check the annoying unity 1and 2 dailies but i'm pretty sure i lose my time: Spiral do not even appear to me so i'm convinced next steps will remain locked for me.

Something else which was, long ago linked to UNITY, is the Nemcon mission.
Did the most advanced people in creepy perks checked it lately ?

Also anybody checked around UNITY building, the current location but also the old location (Rencen, that building with an elevator wich leads you to a very high room with a narco cola machine)?

    To clarify some things:

No ZEN, Lockbox, one time only items (like things you get from a quest once), incredibly rare (like gold costume drops) or no longer dropping items are needed for triggers. Everything else is fair game.

No event perks, Subscription perks, Veteran perks, Lockbox perks, ZEN perks (can't think of any but putting that here just in case), special reward perks (like winning the leveling/art contest in the past), perks that can only be achieved once (like tutorial), or no longer achievable perks are needed for triggers. Everything else is fair game.

Based on this, crafting items might be a possibility. Yet, however, I still extremely doubt that this has anything to do with the wheel(s) on the booth, and let alone crafting items. I still suggest follow through with whatever the Cheshire keeps saying and try making the connections to UNITY.

Also anybody checked around UNITY building, the current location but also the old location (Rencen, that building with an elevator wich leads you to a very high room with a narco cola machine)?

Yes, we've already checked inside, around, and above the UNTIL HQ and blimp and have turned up nothing.

On my way to getting into UNITY 2, in the Upper Halls of the Dead, I found this hanging brazier that has a head impaled on it. It seems to be the only one there or in the Lower Halls that has the head, and that also is not on fire. Couldn't interact with it in any way so it might be a dud, but here it is:

While UNITY is probably a better candidate for a real clue there are some other ways to arrange the first letters of what Spiral says.

    U Tiny

    nuit ("night" in french)

Unfortunately, we have no easy way of knowing what's new. It could have been like that for years.

Using existing content is not out of bounds. You can slap a trigger-fence around any terrain or feature on the map, even if it isn't an object with assignable scripts; and like I said before, utlizing existing content makes the puzzle more challenging. If all we had to do was look for shiny new content, it may get too easy.

As I recall, the halls of the dead have multiple maps that seem to be reassigned randomly after every server reset, so the crypt map from last week may not be the same map as next week... but it's been a long time since I was doing those regularly, so I could be wrong.

So, with the new game in the VB Arcade, I thought of Monster Attacks on the city.

    Destroids Rise Again
    Nightmare Invasion
    Blood Moon
    Winter
    Anniversary

Those are the events where monsters attack the city. Unscrambling the words form "I am drawn." Hint to @RavenForce who became 2D a bit ago. So, maybe something to do with being 2D?

just to update everyone, we have a new hint from Kaiserin: "you guys have been overlooking the theater"

    We checked....:
    Salem's House
    Of Serums and Secrets
    VB Powerhouse Theater
    MC Powerhouse Theater
    Belle's Saloon

Even all of these have been looked at carefully, I'd encourage everyone to go check them some more. Maybe you'll spot something no one else has.

I imagine the teddy creepie from the Qzone was a hint for this as well. So IMO either the teddy itself or something else in one of the powerhouse theater's is creepy related. Orrrr it's some other theater.
  • n8mcdn8mcd Posts: 335 Arc User
Somebody with a Qliphothic Shard thingy should try taking it to the Teddy Bear in the PH theater
  • chaosdrgnz43chaosdrgnz43 Posts: 1,654 Arc User
I searched the following Powerhouse Theaters:
    Lemuria
    Monster Island
    Desert
    Canada
    Vibora Bay
    MC

I searched the curtains, tables, chairs, behind the stages light, sound booth, even the backstage crates. They all look the same and the Teddy has the same pose on every instance. I haven't been in the PH on the most of the instances, so there's always one file Patched followed by another two. Which I assume is the teddy bear, the powerhouse overhaul. (All PH back then didn't have the MCPH interior look) and something else(probably).

I looked into every backdrop and there's seemingly nothing unusual about them. My guess is that Teddy Bear needs a trigger of some sort. Might be a good way to use target-only event items at it.

Said Statue has a different stone texture than it's surrounding area. Not sure if it's creepy-related. I think I've seen this statue before all this creepy hunt started.

    Creepy 6 Obtained!

The Teddy Bear creepy in the Qliphotic Warzone has a curious sense of fashion:
    image

Sporting the latest in voodoo vanity, the Teddy Bear is modeling a Sovereign Sons Top Hat, obtainable by farming enemies of the Sovereign Sons faction.
    image

With the hat in your inventory, head to the Millennium City Powerhouse Theater. In the dressing room area in back, there is a mysterious teddy bear on the ground.
    image

If you have already found the Teddy Bear creepy in the QZone and are carrying the hat, you will get a prompt to interact with the bear: "Place your Sovereign Sons Hat on the teddy bear?" Upon doing so, the bear comes to life, donning its new headwear and saying, "Tip of the hat to you!"
    image

We can't have bears coming to life without repercussions, so welcome it to this mortal coil with a healthy dose of violence.
    image

The teddy will complain "Why do you hurt me?" and display some battle scars, but keep going. After enough damage is dealt, it will transform into a Creepy.
    image

You'll receive credit for Creepy number 6 and the Upstaged perk, with the next clue "Not all walls lock you out."
    image

The hat remains intact in your inventory.

A tip of the hat to @kamokami, @retehi#8400, @pantagruel01, @jedaithe, and the haberdashery hero himself @bringmeaslab; for their agricultural expertise in a late-night farming expedition to confirm the hat theory.

"Not all walls lock you out"

My first thoughts were for Desert jail, and MC jail which despite being jails doesn t prevent you to get in (and also convicts to get out, which is more annoying for a prison)

Second though was Slug temple on MI; the only door is rumbled and prevent you to enter through conventionnal means, but farmable elder worms gems can summon a portal to get in. And this is doable without the mission, which can be significative (or not).
Sadly i checked that place a couple days ago and found nothing. But maybe somebody more perked can uncover something.

And last interpretation, also the more annoying one; it could mean there's a wall somewhere which is traversable. Hope it's not that because i have no intention to check all walls of that game...

@Chaostitandragon, i encourage you to use "Holiday spirit" device on Eidolon friendly target, his reaction is funny

  • 'not all walls lock you out' might be a reference to cybermind and those firewalls

or it could be a reference to a wall somewhere with something special either on it or in front of it - but considering just how many walls there are in the game...

The cybermind walls lock you in, and seem like the only walls in the game that are major plot points (there's a wall in Aftershock you have to break through, but it does lock you out). It could also maybe be a pun?
