Saving Slider Positions Separate

meeoeoowiemeeoeoowie Posts: 78 Arc User
Isn't this technically possible, since the sliders likely contain numerical data?

Sorry, let me elaborate a little. The idea is to have a function in the tailor where you "save/load slider preset", the game either saving up a string of code for you to copy-paste to load up the presets, or just saving it the way it saves costumes, but in the way of text.

This would add a lot of leisure for those with upwards ten, twenty, or even fourty costumes for a single character, when they want to make adjustments to their body proportions.

It means you could adjust the sliders on one costume, save that preset, then load it up on each of the other costumes, as opposed to manually changing the sliders.

If it is possibe, I think it would be a QoL improvement to the tailor that'd help certain people a lot when it comes down to the times you need it!

If there is any confusion on what I mean, don't hesitate to ask, I didn't explain it too well, and I don't mind having another attempt!

It wouldn't really be a bad thing for them to implement. No idea how difficult it would be though.

Are you talking about when you create new costumes? Or are you talking about altering an already made costume, and changing all others to match?

If you're talking about making a new costume, Click on a previous costume and then hit the new Costume slot, and the previous costume (and all it's settings) will pop up. Or create a generic costume with the slider you want, and save that. Then load it for each new costume slot.

As far as changing a previous costume, then altering all others to match, a slider save would be nice, but unlikely to happen. For now your best bet is to set your sliders where you want them, then make (and save) each costume you have in one slot. Then load each save in their corresponding slots.

I know this probably sounds confusing. Hell, It sounds confusing to me, reading it back. But not sure how else to explain it.

    Yes.
Save/Load Sliders should be an option.
But now i just use the "default" costume whenever i make a new one.
Ofcourse if you need to change the "default" costume sliders.....well...After having like 30+ Costume Slots used.....yup..
I think this been asked since 2009. Don't remember what the answer/explanation was to 'Why Not'.
Probably the usual, the difficulty and suckness of Cryptic Engine.

It has several uses. You may have made a costume with a lot of intricate parts, and want to save the body preset you used, to load it onto a different costume where you want the same proportions.

Maybe you have a character, "Hypermega Coolguy", but you are adjusting his chin to be a little thicker, but he has 30 costumes where his chin is visible, and now you need to manually slide his chin to just the right amount on all 30 costumes. In stead, if we had this, you could save the preset with the new chin, and load it manually on each of the costumes you want changed, not only making sure you get the accurate chin size, but saving you from moving each slider.

This is obviously even more useful if you are changing the body proportions of a character entirely, saving you hours of changing +10 sliders 30 times, in stead hitting "load" 30 times.

As for making new costumes, it means that when making a new character, you may have made some "strong woman" presets already, and simply load one up to get a better starting point. It isn't an implementation that would detract any existing methods, such as ones you mentioned, but it would vastly better the Quality-of-Life for tailoring.
