Sorcery version of Ebon Ruin - Magic Ball

So with the recent addition of Shade Storm in GCR/SCR store powers (which I absolutly adore) I had been thinking about more unique powers that could be potential addition in the store

How about a reskin of Ebon Ruin for Sorcery?
A Primary non-laser magic attak for those who prefer Blast Attacks insteads of magic Rays

I had been praparing a Magic+Darkness+Infernal combo build that would use Ebon Ruin as primary attack, but wouldn't be much better if there was an actual magic variation of it?

It could have a visual combination of Hex of Suffering + Sonic Boom Generator + Banish attack visuals

This could also make more usage of Eldrich Blast + Avenger's Preemptive Strike combo

Of course it could also be a reskin of Typhoon/Force Cascade, being AoE but dealing more damage on the primary target

    IMO reskinned powers should just be added to the game for everyone to enjoy.

    That said, it'd be nice if the magic set could synergize properly with stuff from the Energy Projector powergroups. That way, I could build myself a fire mage, ice wizard, lightning conjurer, or (better yet) mix up all 3 plus Force and Wind to be a real master of magic. Certainly better than throwing sparkles and glittery crap at the bad guys.​​
    (Hopefully) Useful CO Resources: HeroCreator (character planner), Cosmic Timers/Alert Checklist, Blood Moon Map, Anniversary Cat Map, and more (eventually, anyway).

    I didn't make this suggestion so people can complain about the GCR/SCR locked powers
    It could be FREE power all i care, but I noticed an activity going on with GCR powers

    I posted for ideas about a magic version of Ebon ruin

    and honestly i have no issues with powers locked behind the GCR/SCR vendor, i find them a good motivation to do endgame and a good GCR sink. It motivated people to work for it

    and they are here to stay honestly, after Shade Storm, Holy Torrent and Aurora there propably will be more powers, so why not motivated DEVs to make pretty looking powers for the store?

    Yeah, that's either Elemental Mage or Warlock

    Also post more suggestion about the power itself please, and NOT the acquired mechanic

    If you want to have a discussion about the Verdor Locked powers, make a new thread, DO NOT derail this one


    What would be a fitting name for the power? perhaps something with RUNE in the name

    Rune Sphere?
    Eldritch Sphere
    Photom Sphere (actually thats sounds fitting for Celestial)

    Magic Missile wont fit because Star Barrage is kinda like that

    I'm not good at finding attack names

    also ideas about synergies and ADVs, something to make it stand out from Ebon Ruin, yeah i could suggest a healing ADV that would consume RUNES as counterpart to shadows​​

    Are you sure you'd want to go that route? :P Remember, ER (and presumably this power as well) is a primary attack that will be used a lot. You may end up destroying your runes when you don't want to, and even when you don't need healing.

    Anyway here's some possible advantages:

    [2] Rank 2
    [2] Rank 3
    [2] Spellfire: 50-75% chance (based on charge) to apply Clinging Flames to the target. If used against a target already affected by your Clinging Flames, unleashes a secondary blast that hits up to 5 targets (including the primary) for 25% additional Fire damage.
    [2] Deep Freeze: 50-75% chance (based on charge) to apply Chilled to the target. If used against a target already affected by your Chilled, unleashes a secondary blast that hits up to 5 targets (including the primary) for 25% additional Ice damage.
    [2] Mystic Lightning: 50-75% chance (based on charge) to apply Negative Ions to the target. If used against a target already affected by your Negative Ions, unleashes a secondary blast that hits up to 5 targets (including the primary) for 25% additional Electrical damage.
    [2] Kinetic Blast: If charged below 50%, knocks the target back. If charged above 50%, knocks the target up and deals 25% additional damage to up to 5 targets, including the primary.
    [2] Vacuum Sphere: Repels the target. Up to 5 targets (including the primary) suffer an additional 25% Crushing damage. Secondary targets are repelled toward to the primary target.

    The new ADV in Ebon Ruin is quite questionable for me too
    I guess devs want to give it options so it can be used for utility instead of primary attack, i mean... it can work
    Not really fan of that, but i would guess they would do the same with a magic reskin of the power

    I would also keep the Curse+Enchantment buff Soul Beam has

    I like it, the energy projector synergies are always welcome (especially when the majority of new powers we get usually focus only on FIRE synergy :sweat:
    it also fits if you consider the GCR/SCR powers have A LOT OF different ADVs​​
