My mind is going to break soon. What I want to use doesn't exist, and may never.

Since I have no choice but to put up with it though if I really want to keep playing, I've been idling for several hours in the powerhouse, running over multiple things that I may deal with in the game. The biggest annoyance is the damage a Cosmic enemy can deal, and I have to fight them if I want to get Justice gear someday, so maybe I can just attempt to maximize my damage resistance for the time being. I'm thinking I could at least be the one who survives when everyone else is dead, and I suppose I could take various valuable debuffs and other utilities to make up for my lack of ability to fill an actual role.

Invulnerability seems nice, since unlike Defiance, which needs to be built up, it would be at full strength all the time, and its flat resistance stacks with Inertial Dampening Field. A rank 3 block power would also be good to take, along with perhaps an area revive option.

This is as far as I can think at the moment. Perhaps I could at least start with Infernal powers to use Supernatural Power as a source of energy, and maybe use Devour Essence along with Life Essence. One for close range, the other if I'm having trouble or don't want to get close.

...

...

I have successfully finished this worthless pile, and have stepped out of the powerhouse.

The Strength primary, Constitution secondary, Guardicator loop is a good start. Keep all that for survivability, and stack Con like crazy.

You will block, a lot, vs. Cosmics. That limits the specialness of TK Shield. Feel free to take whichever block power you like, except Fluidity (which is really only good if you are doing a dodge build).

IDF is almost an afterthought in Cosmics. It can be useful in other endgame content: a little useful in Teleios Ascendant, and definitely useful in Qliphothic Warzone. Versus Cosmics, mitigating 150 damage when taking 5000 just doesn't matter.

I would take Compassion, since you are going to be spamming a healing power. This will increase your damage a bit, and significantly boost your healing.

Defiance is better for overall survivability in nearly all cases vs. Cosmics. You will have 6 stacks of Defiance very rapidly. Invulernability is great for Q Warzone, and for being an off-tank, so it isn't a bad choice.

Abosultely keep the self-rez and team rez. Solid choices.

The question I have, though, is what role will Xel play in a fight like this? Are you going to be an additional tank (a "soak tank")? If not, your damage output and healing output are both quite low.

I would ditch Devour Essence, since you are set up to inflict poison regularly with Willowisp, which improves Life Essence. Take some power that will let you do some significant damage. Maybe Defile?

If you have Defiance, you can risk going without an Energy Unlock, since Defiance provides constant energy if you are taking damage.

If you don't imagine yourself playing tank most of the time, you could also look into using a second passive and switching builds depending on the fight.

    Editing that 2nd build:

    Specializations
    Strength: Swole (3/3)
    Strength: Physical Peak (1/3)
    Strength: Quick Recovery (1/2)
    Strength: Brutality (2/2)
    Strength: Juggernaut (3/3)

    Warden: Ruthless (2/2)
    Warden: Elusive (2/2)

    Vindicator: Merciless (3/3)
    Vindicator: Focused Strikes (3/3)
    Vindicator: Offensive Expertise (2/2)
    Mastery: Strength Mastery (1/1)

Compassion can give you more dmg, energy, and bonus heal, and saves ya 4 adv points. It can scale off of Rec, so that works put. Kept one point in Quick Recovery just to help proc it since otherwise its scaling is weak. The build should be quite sturdy, though its lacking in spammable AoE atm.

    A few things:

    1) Why two different drain powers? Since you're strength-based, you may want to just cut life essence out of the equation entirely.

    2) What's your plan for AoE? If your only plan is to farm cosmics and nothing else with that character, then I guess it's fine. Engaging in any other content will be something of a pain though, since Wisp alone doesn't really cut it. Epidemic would be a great choice.

    3) IDF is kind of poopy. To emphasize what was already suggested, swapping it out for Compassion would probably give you more survivability overall since it boosts your healing.

    4) I'd probably swap TK shield for Ebon Void R2 + Voracious Darkness. The healing effect from blocking damage synergizes nicely with Compassion. Plus, the lingering effect is just all-around better IMO since it works while blocking instead of only being applied afterward. The drawback is that takes you 1 point over the 36 adv point maximum, but you could probably pull it from something else easily enough.
(Hopefully) Useful CO Resources: HeroCreator (character planner), Cosmic Timers/Alert Checklist, Blood Moon Map, Anniversary Cat Map, and more (eventually, anyway).
