Yes. Quite a few suggestions have been implemented into the game.

A lack of response doesn't mean they don't see the post.
(Hopefully) Useful CO Resources: HeroCreator (character planner), Cosmic Timers/Alert Checklist, Blood Moon Map, Anniversary Cat Map, and more (eventually, anyway).

There is not a huge crew here.
They do not have time to respond to everything they read.

There have been several occasions of suggestions ending up in the game.

Of course, not every suggestion is worth putting into the game, or is going to be put into the game in exactly the form suggested, but that doesn't mean that no suggestions are used.

They generally don't respond because it makes people go nuts.

I suspect not responding to threads is a policy; I know at least some threads get read.

Wouldn't surprise me based on how people have reacted in the past.

<font color=#5500ff>I wonder about stuff like this myself at times. Like... have they ever considered any suggestions regarding water/slime/sludge-style powers or powersets? I'm sure that's been asked for since beta.

I've grown rather attached to the idea of slimepeople after messing with Space Station 13, and even made a slime race mod for another game, but there's not much of anything to work with here, even if I've pulled off making the character look alright. This's the second night I've wasted being unable to sort myself out in the powerhouse.

I also wish I could make my own posts. It's been over 24 hours. What needs to happen so a new account can do so?</color>

Some also get responses. Not often, but it happens (even outside of PTS and patch announcement threads) .

I notice that happens only on threads that have an impossible request. Though still rare.

Feel free to tell me at some point why you've been so mad at me all this time :) do it in private tho, no reason to clutter up a thread with the drama. Tho if you were gonna do it in a thread this one would be fine since it's not really an important one.

Devs typically don't respond to threads in suggestions boards because some very vocal people in the player base tend to take a dev response as confirmation that something will happen (or in some cases, will never happen). If those players in the past had been better behaved about dev responses then it's quite possible they would still occur today. But when a dev posts something like "that's a cool idea" and the response from the player base is "OMG! They are adding this!" and when the devs don't add it for whatever reason they are bombarded with "You lied to us, you promised you were adding this. When are you gonna add this, you said you would do it." ... it's pretty self explanatory why they would be hesitant to respond to anything anymore.

It's happened on other threads too. Rare, but it happens enough that it's surely not a policy to not respond to threads.

I can only imagine that, considering our very limited dev resources, the devs don't have the time to communicate as much as they would like to. I certainly wouldn't label them as so thin skinned that they can't handle player responses to communications. I wouldn't like to label the player base as neurotic enough that they would all go "mad" or "nutz" at the slightest thing either.

Communication is key though. We used to have a lot more communication at certain points in the past and when we had more communication we loved it on the forums. It was great and lots of folks made comments expressing how great it was. It made the community stronger as a whole.

I can't blame the devs though. We need a community manager for this..... can't see us getting another one though.

I think you're presuming too much spinny. You could have sent me that as a PM tho' so as not to clutter ;)

I mean, other people in the thread did the same thing and you didn't get all butt hurt at them about it o3o I mean let's be fair, my statement is technically correct, as was theirs.

Spinny, if you really want to persist in that line of questioning then send me a polite PM...... and I promise that I will politely respond. I'm not gonna do a public "Spinny Vs Whoever It Is This Time" argument.

I am sincere about the PMs.
