Yes. Another zone opens, and this happens all the time. The second zone often has just 1-10 people, which "locks them out" of completing an Eido run. (I think that was what was being referred to.)
Although it might have been a "why is there only a zone 2?", which I experienced this morning, but is just "everyone was fighting in zone 1, left and all that was left was zone 2".
I don't think guilds or anyone else will organize methodical trolling of Eido runs. The runs have to get to a point where they succeed then the trolls will come out. Right now there's no point.
Even then.....if someone really wanted to do this then Ape and Kiga are much easier targets. And it's not happening so no need for #DOOM.
All these only highlight the need to stop making mechanic-heavy open-world bosses and instead, start putting them in lairs. Lazier, easier bosses like Clarence are fine, but when the mechanics and group requirements start getting this strict, it's time to give the group more control over who shows up.
I totally agree with the spirit of this post.
In this particular case, my own concern is lessened in large part due to how this encounter will likely be done: with smaller groups of players. In a small group the trolls, etc....are not going to be able to hide as effectively so it's less of an issue imo.
I haven't logged in since Christmas eve, I guess, so I have zero comment on whatever difficulty may have been added to the Q zone OMs and Eidolon, but I have a problem following this line of thinking.
Some trolls seem proud of their activities, so why would hiding matter to them? Never mind that someone might just make a mistake (or that a troll can hide their behavior behind a "mistake").
In fact, smaller groups seem like it would make any mistakes or individual troll's attempts more impactful upon the success or failure of any particular fight.
I am not claiming that trolls will be coming out of the woodwork to make OMs and/or the Eidolon fight fail, I just do not see how smaller groups will make it less likely to happen.
Not really on topic so I am not going to follow up, I just wanted to get this out there.
