Which powersets require a review the next year?

Hi guys I was wondering which powersets need reviews/updates so far... From December of 2015 the sets that have been updated are
-Energy Projector: Fire and Ice
-Technology: Munitions (Dual Pistols sub-set), Power Armor (at the time of writing this post, the powerset is being updated/ and the Laser Sword miniset being converted to its own new powerset)
-Martial Arts: Single and Dual Blades got their thematic lunges, and some new powers were added to the shared MA powers; now the Shreded debuff is no longer exclusive of Fighting Claws' Viper Fangs powers. Also all the Tier 0 melee combos which dealt Slashing damage were made AoEs with the posibility of applying the Shredded debuff either innately or through advantages when you finish the combo.
-Mentalist: Well there is nothing much to say, Telepathy has had some changes but all have been nerfs sadly.
-Brick: Heavy Weapons was reviewed to amplify the set's synergy with Fire's Clinging Flames.
-Mystic: Here we go:
a. Infernal SN had at least two reviews this year!
b. Bestial SN had three reviews!
c. Sorcery: The old 4 Sorcery schools were merged into a single one.
d. Darkness: Had a small revision on May of 2016

I know I am missing the various individual power changes introduced along the year like the power changes introduced with Teleios Ascendant, the Patch of February 21st, March 23rd, July 21st and others.

    Might, Force, Telepathy and Telekinetic are the most needed for a review... a good review of course.

    Good question, currently all the powerframes left are underwelming and we have to wait a while until their time comes into the playu
    1. EARTH:
      • Underwhelming Damage!
      • No thematic Energy Unlock
      • Half powers are split into Melee and Range and the powerframe cannot decide what it wants to be
      • Doesn't use the Stagger debuff really good as it should
    2. ARCHERY:
      • Underwhelming Damage!
      • Right now it's basically UTILITY The Powerframe
      • Bugged powers (Focused Shot interupting itself and being a pathetic counterpart of Sniper)
    3. FORCE:
      • May as well be called FORCE CASCADE the powerframe, any other damage power gets overshadowed
      • Personal Force Field is still bugged and Banned from tanking End Game
      • No thematic Energy Unlock
      • Crushing Wave is bugged with concetration/chilled form and does really small damage
      • The Impulse AT
    4. WIND:
      • More damage potential than EARTH for sure, but really lucklasting powerpool!
      • May as well be called Hurricane the Powerframe
      • Hurricane is super laggy
      • Typhoon damage split makes it really hard to make the best out of it, the energy managment doesn't help because
      • Wind Reverbation is crap and doesn't synergize with half it's own powers

    5. MIGHT:
      • Annoying Knock spams
      • No thematic Energy Unlock (Passives DO NOT count)
      • No AoEs, may as well take 100 hands from MA
      • Needs more powers
    6. MARTIAL ARTS:
      • Unarmed needs more powers
      • The kick powers damage is pretty horrible because it focus on Dodge-Avoidance gimmick
      • Fighting Claws still don't have a proper lunge
      • Single Blade and Fighting Claws still don't have exlusive AoES (their combos don't count and I consider Scything Blade an embarrassment)
    7. Munitions:
      • Still not enough Dual Pistol powers and animations
      • There are no SINGLE PISTOL powers despite NPCs have access to them
      • Heavy WeaponsBFGs DPS cannot be compared to Two Gun Mojo
    8. Telekinesis:
      • Bugged powers who don't trigger concetration
      • FInnicky Energy Unlock
      • Melee TK blades are royally screwed
    9. Telepathy:
      • Get Nerfed 5 Times, Question yourself why you made that character using this powerframe as theme
      • Master of the Mind is KILL ME NOW Button
      • You are better using MSA instead of Telepathic Reverb because the new telepathy powers have zero synergy with it and Mental Storm doesn't even trigger it
      • You can rapture other players Debuffs and they can do the same with yours Debuffs 10/10

    10. Gadgeteer:
      • After the Global Cooldown nerf MSA is the worst EU you would like to pick for this powerframe
      • GImmicky powers which forgot they also deal damage
      • lack of potential powers

    11. Sonic:
      • THERE IS NO SONIC POWERFRAME!
      • The most underused Damage type in the whole game

    • Martial Arts Unarmed can use more movements from Muay Thai and Taekwondo (Better versions than Thundering Kicks) that can be used with Elbow Slam w/ Falling Hammer.

    • As Telekineses I tested TKBlades and the damage was OK for the PvE side (6k Ego Annihilate and 2,3k the Combo with high critical procs at Lv23) I can feel the powerset only works inside PvE and not for End Game content.

    • Munitions, I saw some Police NPC using One Handed Shotguns as Energy Builder (You can see it using with a Shield) so somenthing with Shotguns can be useful and better than the one we have and in my opinion, more mine types.

    • Gadgeteer, moving away from the strange EU they have. This powerset is a beast by itself with Plasma Beam Rifle and Ricochet Throw but yes, they are the ONLY powers that Gadgeteer have to be a minimal competitive. (Even can say I love Chainsaw Gauntlet)

    Talking about Knockbacks, for the love of this game I want so bad that devs remove this effect from the NPC version of Power Gauntlet, Missile Swarm (Viper's Powered Armors use this and ignore knock resist), and the NPC versions of Eldritch Blast and Sigils of Arcane Runes (on Lemurian Archmages). Those npc powers are freaking annoying.

    The possibility of them doing that in the near future is very unlikely. I rather prefer if they gave the NPCs the revised skillsets of enemies' from Shadow of Destruction, to be especific I mean the Destroids from the Q-Warzone. And talking about the lemurian sorcerer's they could update the Lemurian Archmage's Eldritch Blast and Sigils without knocking you like the player version.

    Well I didn't know that. It's better to fix their powers to take into account the players' knock resistance.

    How about adding an Assault Rifle Energy Builder to Munitions? Pistols are for people who ran out of bullets for their real weapons. And nobody runs out of bullets in Millennium City!

    Notice how the Revamps are taking place during the same time a Super Hero Movie is being released
    some ATs for comparison
    1. The Specialist (Dual Pistols revamp) The Deadpool Movie
    2. The Penitent (Chains and Bleeds stuff Revamp) Suicide Squad Movie
    3. The Hexslinger (Sorcery Revamp) Doctor Strange Movie
    4. Cybernetic Warrior (Laser Sword Revamp) Rogue One: A Star Wars Story movie

    ATs which were not tied with a Movie release: The Icicle, The Rockstar, The Predator, The Witch

    So which Movie release should I wait for a Single Blade, Fighting Claws, Unarmed, Dual Blades, Force, Wind, Earth, Archery, Gadgeteer, Might, Celestial updates?

    Speaking of Celestial, i forgot to add it

    12. CELESTIAL
    1. No themed Energy Unlock
    2. No offense power potential (there ARE people who wants to make a Celestial DPS)
    3. The Illumination revamp ruined Ascension and Celestial Conduit
    4. Ascension was ruined and from the BEST AoE heal was downgraded to the WORST (ruined so many legit theme builds in the process, the damage was still not being fixed, we get more power illumination 1 YEAR LATER)

    The Icicle was a experiment to let the new devs "try" the AT system for the first time. The Rockstar and Rockbox were a homeage to David Bowie's death. The Witch I see it more related to the Enchantress villain from Suicide Squad. Predator idk when Bestial SN was reviewed it was predictable. If we are speaking about ATs/Powerset reviews related to movies, then we can say:
    -Fighting Claws will get a review with the Logan Movie (Wolverine)
    -Might could see a review with the Wonder Woman movie
    -Gadgeteering could see a review with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
    Earth, Telekinesis, Telepathy (*say violinist song plays), Wind, Archery I have no clues, perhaps with the first movie of Justice League next year?

    Or a submachinegun, like an Ingram, Uzi, or MP5. Guys like the Punisher or Wild Dog always carry those for small arms fire before resorting to pistols.

    Honestly, I would like to unify my weapon skins on Gunbunny Blue, not diversify them. If I could get everything to look the same (without resorting to the Tommy Gun skin), that would be great.

    Might SORELY needs its own energy unlock.

    I'd love to see more chi like abilities in the MA powers that kind of mimic a melee version of other powers. Say a Circle of Primal Domination that sees its chi ability allow its owner to stand his ground and fight, or a Telekinetic Eruption like chi ability that temporarily boosts your resistance and physical damage output.

    I miss 2 Gun Mojo in its old form. I wish it didn't really change to what it is now and instead they toned down its damage. Visually its a fun power (hello, TWO GUNS) and with the changes it was less than fun.

    I kinda LIKE where Telepathy is at the moment, compared to some other powers its gotten a lot of attention and additions. I'd focus on Might, MA and Force.

    Absolutely. MSA just isn't efficient given that a lot of the Might powers don't have a cooldown just long charge times. Nor is it thematic. Something like a second wind or getting heartened in battle. Might's all about wading in the front, drawing fire, and then suddenly running out of juice at a critical time is annoying.

    On Martial Arts, we sorely need a more pugilist/prizefighter framework. The current MA options default to mystical zen master, but few choices for a boxer or a kickfighter that, while refined compared to a street brawler (which the Might set works well enough in representing), is not focused on the esoteric/quasi-supernatural abilities. Jabs, bodyblows, backfists, hooks, clinches, bobbing and weaving, shin kicks, elbow and knee strikes... More Batroc than Iron Fist. (And while at it, some sweet Boxing Gloves costume pieces would be nice).

    Oh, that would be amazing. It's a bit of a waste that most of the power sets have very similar energy unlock mechanics. A reaload mechanic of some sort for munitions would really make the whole set stand out.

    l'm pretty sure that next two sets, those gonna get review are Might and Celestial. Just because Might has Haymaker, that (stated by devs) has unintendedly big damage, also Force Cyclone on Valiant (l guess it'd look better for unarmed themes, than sword cyclone with invisible skin). Another one has an overpowered heal, that costs no energy, plus there was Holy Torrent ultimate (???) one day at PTS. Also stated that some "future technology powers" will get Download buff (is that "Download" Mystified version for technology?), may we get technology heals finally?

    Lemme take wild guess:

    The very next archetype will be - l'm afraid - Might DPS, there's no one yet oddly nuff. Might'll get E Unlock (possible procing on Disorient), totally reshaped (m/b Enrage will lose its Endorphin rush), Endorphin rush would be made standalone buff like Furious or Reckless. But all those changes're outshadowed by HAYMAKER EPIC NERF. That's why you hafta be afraid.

    Now it's Celestial. Vengeance needs Condemn-like healing rune, Seraphim maybe turned to Balanced passive for DPS toons, introduced few hard-hitting Celestial powers. New archetype - ranged damage (?). Radiant update (maybe put AoRP as alternate passive here, lllumination & celest conduit). The star of the show - INIQUITY EPIC NERF. That's why you hafta be afraid.

    The one AT l personally want it's Gadgeteering-based DPS (not Night Avenger gadgets, but energy weapons). l want it ASAP, because overchanges made Plasma Beam unusable, and my inventor-based Main FF lost proper AoE. l see lot of potential here. There was already Gadgeteering revamp last year prior to TA launch, but no new power appeared. Besides that l want Medical Cannon for Gadgets. Inventor AT needs update, because it can't fill its primary role - CANNOT HEAL. Support role doesn't buff pets for years, years ago. That's how outdated it is! Either devs have to change its role to Balanced, or introduce and give it some full time heal tech Power.

    But what's about other AT, than DPS? l see Archery mezzing archetype, DPS AT based on "new" Telepathy powers. Regen or forcefield true Tank archetype, maybe even make one more def passive. Although those balanced're pretty tankish. Finally "Floral" or "Arborial" miniset under "Supernatural" group, that'd have Vine-like structure attacks and maybe some heal stuff in it! l suggested it long ago.

    How "no AoEs"? lron Cyclone? Shockwave? Hyper Voice? Havoc Stomp? Roomsweeper? Mentalist really lacks proper AoE, telekinetic burst is #BUKT & doesn't trigger concentr. Also Gadgeteer after plazma beam screwation.

    you just list all the right powers for all the wrong reasons
    because most of them either don't fit a punchying build or have annoying issues
    1. lron Cyclone Not everyone wants to use CHAINS which they pull out of nowhere
    2. Hyper Voice Not everyone wants to scream like Black Canary
    3. Havoc Stomp not everyone wants to stomp, and it's charged, not a maintain and its weak
    4. Roomsweeper NOT EVERYONE WANTS TO SENT THE MOBS 100 FEET AWAY WHICH ARE NOT GUARANTEED THAT THEY WILL DIE FROM FALLING DAMAGE Screw this power

    PUNCHES, maintain punches, this is why i prefer 100 Hands
    or brimstone with imaginary weapon for being a 360 AoE which actually deals GOOD damage​​

    Shockwave then. And maybe Force Cyclone coming soonTM, although l'm not sure what framework. Might be might? Force (because most its powahz start with word "Force"). Wind (because it lifts wind)? Earth (because it lifts dust)?

    100 hands - whatever works... But it doesn't proc Enrage, that's sore. Dex, Int, Ego, Pre forms procing easily, including FoTT. Strength one has draconic restrictions, that's not fair.

    I'm at the point where I almost want to say that none of the other sets need to be "fixed." Except maybe earth and telepathy, because it'll be really hard to make those sets worse than they already are. Telekinesis too maybe, because I'm oh so thrilled at the idea of more rupture mechanics which is what this will probably get. (it's already halfway into that territory anyway)
    (Hopefully) Useful CO Resources: HeroCreator (character planner), Cosmic Timers/Alert Checklist, Blood Moon Map, Anniversary Cat Map, and more (eventually, anyway).

    Revamp, Everything, integrate synergy/mechanics for frameworks, like make Kinetic Manipulation not get Stripped with it's own power Force Cascade, and Bring Personal Force Field inline with other Defense Passive so it's not a gimmick like Crowd Control, oh and make Crowd Control scale with CC Strength (Duration and Hold HP respectively, along with the influence of Manipulator extending those, making it a viable Utility then unfriendly with teams), mostly what Avi mentioned, bring everything in line and viable across the board, not encouraging Cherry picking like it has been for years, tho that's more to do with human nature. :3

    Honestly, I would like to unify my weapon skins on Gunbunny Blue, not diversify them. If I could get everything to look the same (without resorting to the Tommy Gun skin), that would be great.

    Me too.

    Wish they would let any weapon skin work for any power in the framework and let people pick their weapon of choice.

    Want to use a single pistol? Pick a single pistol skin for all of your powers.
    Want a submachine gun? Pick a submachine gun skin for all of your powers.

    Want a wide variety of weapons? Pick different skins for all of your powers.

    I know this would require some more animations, but I think for sheer customization, and given the great number of characters that use munitions in some capacity, I think it would be worth it.

    They could also skip some weapon types for this.
    Single pistol, dual pistol, submachine gun, and assault rifle would be okay with me, letting people pick any of those skins for all the powers, and it would save the devs from having to make animations for shotguns, sniper rifles, and chain guns.

    Heck, if I had to settle for single and dual pistol becoming a combo option where sometimes my character used one pistol, sometimes they used two, that would even be okay.

    Even if they decided to sell "pistol specialist" "submachine gun specialist" and "assault rifle specialist" packages in the C-store that would allow characters to pick those weapons for all of the munitions powers.

    There are a lot of unused weapon models, like the ones that you can decorate your hideout with when customizing the tailor area, as well there is a lot of unused power animations.

    A boxer framework, maybe, or entertainment wrestling with dropkicks and clotheslines, but grappling is too complex to code and make it look good (too many interactions and collision mechanics for an MMO).

    Does ego weapons still have that thing where the last hit in the combo doesn't strike twice despite what the tooltip claims? Hopefully, any ego weapons "fixes" don't remove / ruin siphoning strikes since it's an interesting advantage.

    I'd say many sets need to be touched up and fleshed out but aren't actually broken. Most melee AoE would benefit from being a good sized sphere centered on the target instead of a cone. Even if the splash damage did a bit less damage than to the main target. It would make it easier to deal with mob movement and annoying tab targeting. Cone attacks work so much better on ranged moves.​​

    Might should be up there.

    Some of it's powers are just way out of date by the game's current standards. With most combinations starting to be centralized in a way to be able to work with multiple forms, this makes it stand out even more. I'm looking at you BEATDOWN.

    That Mighty Kick power is also a joke. Literally. It needs to be revisited.

    Shockwave could serve better as a PBAoE rather than a targeted cone doing low sonic damage and does a knockdown only on a full maintain.

    Nuclear Shockwave, cmon. We all know how absolutely terrible this power is.

    I have mixed feelings on Defensive Combo. On one hand, I think it's outdated because it is the ONLY POWER in the entire game that has innate threat building with no advantages. There should be other powers with a similar innate ability, or just change defensive combo.

    It pains me to say this, but as much as I love it, Defiance needs to be looked at as well. Being able to be fully 100% beneficial without ranking it seems to be slightly unbalanced. It's the only passive that behaves like a form ( correct me if I'm wrong ).

    Also, in regards to Might as a whole. I believe that "stagger" is the most lack luster debuff in the game, and should either have it's mechanic changed, scrapped, or applied to more might powers.

    Anyway, while I'm at it, I'll also mention Earth.

    Earth sucks. All of it does. Review the entire thing.

    I guess the proper way to balance Defiance should be altering the damage mitigation formula to only consider the Super Stats instead of only Constitution. That way people who stack lots of Con wouldn't get overperforming resistance. Also considering the rank scaling should be taken in consideration in boosting the dmg resist granted per stack to reach a maximum cap of 70%
