  • Added Dinosuit and Santa costume sets to the Collector Store.
  • Added new Warp items to: Fighting Dojo, Arcana Bookstore, Mutations Lab, Inventions Lab, Enchanted Foundry and MCPD Armory.
  • The Timewarp box has been discontinued and will no longer drop.

Costumes
  • Fixed clipping issues with the female rocker belt.
  • Added emblems to the Rocker Jacket.
  • Updated the Rocker textures so they don't darken colors.
  • Added Long Sleeves and Wrapped Cloth costumes to males.
  • Fixed some clipping issues with the Feuerdrache heavy weapon skin.

Rocker Archetype
  • Fixed signature skills so they display properly.
  • Added costume for Rocker archetype.

Misc
  • The Mage Council cutscene now has voiceover.

Please stay on topic in this PTS thread. We use bug reports from this thread to decide whether a PTS build is ready to go live, and so we need to make sure we're seeing everything in it. Please do discuss the changes, but if you find yourself writing about something that isn't specific to what's on PTS, then that should probably go here: http://forum.arcgames.com/championsonline/categories/gameplay-bugs1. Posts that do not pertain to the current PTS patch will be removed.

o.o There are voice actors on staff?
Dasher@Tool-box, donning his armor to prance into battle and blitz the enemy! No joke!
Cupid@Tool-box, stunningly radiant stag ready to play matchmaker between villain and arrow!
Vixon@Tool-box, frighteningly eager to summon despair for his adversaries!
Jebin Zedalu@Tool-box, elementalist weaponmaster. ...One of these things is not like the others!

It is likely they are contracted out to a company that does VO recording or got in contact with agents or individual Voice actors who recorded from home or their studio.

BUG: The VO file for the Golden Seraph mission Gateway to Nightmare is playing an unedited audio clip. Halfway through the voice actress stops, apologizes for a mistake, and you can hear a director speak, and she starts up from where she left off XD

Probably the same people that do STO and NWO VO.

    PVP is starving without rewards

    1. Please give us Daily PVP missions that reward Questionite.
    2. Please give us an exchange rate between Acclaim and Recognition so that PVP has access to all "On Alert" PVE rewards.

I thought the set already had face paint sets. They looked similar to what members of KISS wore back in the day.

Yep, there are two rocker face paints that came with the set. Not much, but its something.

I suppose I should take this clean up work to mean there is no hope for the Heavy Weapon powerset not being so fire heavy? It really is theme-breaking to have fire in almost all of the attacks on default. I can accept that some of them had it, it was easy enough to pick some powers if I just wanted to swing a giant axe. Not to mention there may be ice-themed heros that swung a giant ice axe, this really breaks their theme.

Can you remove Become Celestial from the Collector's Vendor?

Put it back in the Drifter Store as it was originally from there and was never meant to be in a lockbox.

The Collector's Vendor is missing so can't see if the Santa and Dino costume sets are in a category that's appropriate for them.

Considering the great number of costumes and shoppables, along the not-yet-decided number of Coins per mission reward, I've taken my time to give some suggestions. Obviously, I'm no expert on this nor do I claim to be, so the values I add are completely by my own reasoning (and considers the event time limit as 14 days). With all that said, here are some suggestions.

It is to my belief that someone attending all days has to be able to get at minimum half of the event shop with one character and a maximum of the entire shop in a few less days, with only dailies.

Considering only the costumes (and auras), total price of 2 000 coins, Mission N° 1 (requiring 5 members) can award 50 coins, while Mission N°2 & 3 can reward between 20~30. 50-30-30 gives them 110 coins per day, enough for one of the twenty costumes each day for each character, this way with two characters playing all dailies all days, you have (110 * 14) 1540 coins.

This leads then to having to resort to doing Open missions and farming mobs for the remaining tokens for those with only two characters, (silvers without extra slots), while those with 3 slots can safely gather all costumes in the shop.

Considering the vehicles, archetype and power, however, the total price goes up to 4 300, meaning those rewards from before would either have to double or the Open mission & Mob coin drops would have to be significant, or the event would have to be around for much longer. This is because it is important that we only have to resort to a maximum of 3 characters to do all dailies everyday to get almost or everything from a shop, or with relative grind to get it all.

The events are supposed to be fun and of course, we're supposed to work for our rewards, but it isn't fun if we end up needing to defeat the same mobs over and over and over and over again (or at least not for most people), with that said, obviously the open mission does need some good rewards to attract us to do it.

Once more, I do not claim my numbers to be the best choices, just my own little insight into it.
Thank you once more for the atention you've been giving us recently.

And thanks for whoever took their time to read this all.

So the collectors boxes now replace the Timewarp? That's pretty sweet update! Honestly, it was getting annoying to have to drop out random lockboxes from my inventory.

Ooh more warp items! Any chances some of those end up being drifter salvage or zen?

Once more, love the new cutscene, even more now so with the Voiceover. I know it's such a simple cutscene, but I still think it's well done.

The Rocker costume set keeps getting better! My suggestion though, to make things more clear, the emblem tab should be changed from "Attachment Chest Layer" to "Attachment Chest Emblem" or something alike, so that it is more clear (though it is quite obvious once you try to change the tab and see Emblem features, which then result in the person looking for the emblem) and doesn't cause confusion with the other Attachment. It's not needed, in my opinion, but if it isn't too much trouble, I think it'd better like so.

You know, I really do not understand this theme breaking thing? Its not a visual, the fire damage. Plus, fire damage belongs to the elemental damage tree which includes ice and toxic, so in reality, having the HW weapons deal fire damage fits better than pure crushing damage.

The Rocker AT has to have a preset costume that does not require the Rocker Costume set, else your preset costume won't exist if you haven't unlocked the costume set.

Silver players can't color it blue, though.
Heroes without energy/magic/etc powers don't want any effect like this at all.

While it will only have a minor effect on a couple of my toons, I don't think clinging flames was a great choice to add to several HW powers as a base effect. The set already had some fiery powers--it didn't need more.

    Should have been advantages only.

Silver players can't color it blue, though.

Silver players also aren't playing ice-themed HW users; they only get the powerset with Devastator and Rocker. And the only people I've seen griping about the fire effect breaking their theme are ice-users.

So, if you're Gold and mixing HW and ice powers, color the Cleave blue. Problem solved.

Personally, I've thought of suggesting that every HW skill have the split damage and clinging flames effect only be applied through a 0-point Adv...

Then I thought, there's no way in heck this team is going to do that and decided to drop it before it even manifested into a post.

It's set in proverbial stone, and it's not going to be changed. So you might as well accept it, because it's going live pretty soon.

There could very well be Devastators with ice-themed costumes. Heck, my devastator has an ice-themed outfit. We did just get ice hair and ice bodies in December, after all, this is not an unexpected thing for people to want to use, even on ATs besides the two that use actual ice powers.

Edit: Also, silver FFs exist and can't power tint. Can we not treat them as second-class citizens? Devastator and Rocker are not the only silver HW users.

don't forget with pricing, usually theres some random token drops form mobs or gift bags.
    POssible problem mob locations
    1. main portal westside. next to the basketball courts.so love letter and freedom freys get hit.one on either isde of them
    2. up the road at intersection directly between Burt Jackson and Lin QI. So when you get the message to see ehr adn follow the arrow, you run straight into them.
    3. the area just behind little Italy where you have to collect the weapon crates has 3 groups of them including a Worm portal. that mission is not going to work.
    4. group on ramp leading into the back of Belligerents area. so that mission could get interesting
    5. in the black aces area across from WCOC. so Gunning for control of westside, they will have to be careful but doable.funnily enough close to the UNTIL defender
    6. the worm portal at the docks where you rescue the police, are attacking the nearby mobs and i use the term nearby LOOSELY with mind worms. people hould be able to avoid that one since its in a corner.
    7. THREE groups of mobs, 2 on road, 1 in container area at 1378 8 -2007. Right near one of the nemesis mission entries which is also the VB crisis mission. This is just up the road turning left after you have rescued the prosecutor.
    8. on the TWO buildings next to rescuing the prosecutor, one of which you go in for Brains behind the breakout. you have MOBs on both. PLus a group on the road on the other side. and a group of 3 roamers doing laps.
Boy, have you got it in for the level 10 and unders. The only thing missing is 1 near kodiak and the purple truck yard.
skull level isn't going to help, vs drag, ranged knock, stuns, drains from multiple mobs.
    see crappy maps.
general level 10 and under problems.

You don't need ice powers to be ice-themed. The right costume with an icy-crystal/rock axe would do the trick.
The flames on everything schtick kinda wrecks that.

That being said, I think there are more issues for folks who don't currently use any fiery HW powers, who want to simply smack enemies with the big thing. Now, they will get fire, too, whether they want or not.

For example, my Dexter's Lab homage, Professor Pummel, uses a giant wrench to attack. Now, it will be a fiery wrench?
    No, thanks.

I can't say I really like all the nttg effects from lower ranked (non boss level) mobs. On stuff from a boss it would be fine, but nttg from mobs were something that was removed from CO (Vibora Bay) after years of constant complaints from players.

chaelk - have you tried working through Westside on PTS with a low-level toon? I tried it with a lvl6 and found that I could get out of any inadvertent contact with Nightmare mobs just by blocking and walking away. Most of them seem programmed to stay by their portals, or die and respawn when too far away (no hope of kiting in this one!).

aiqa - the NTTG effect is really short lived. You can re apply TPs almost immediately afterwards, it seems to be more of an anti-vehicle measure than anti-player.

That seemed true for me, too. I was flying around, got NttG, and was able to turn flight back on basically after I got up from falling.

Why is this a problem? All defense-based (as opposed to dodge-based) melee tank ATs with str + con SS should be str primary. Behemoth (at least) should be changed to Str primary. Because no sane character builder would choose otherwise.

Con primary *should be* the ranged tank and dodge tank primary SS. (That its terrible for them is something that could be fixed by modifying the spec tree).

what about new players who just follow the arrows?

I know about them and can avoid them. New players will assume they are normal and easy..right up until they meet the long aggro range.
    pulls, stuns, poison, knockdown..etc
go to the docks and look at the group on the end, they are aggroing on two groups of mobs. thats in a line1...2.....3

actually , that's because of the stupidity of the Str tree which makes it better to stack Con than str.
same as stacking INT on the archer, which has a main stat of Dex. due to Audacity.

so what'll you do if that little quirk on the Str tree gets changed

so what'll you do if that little quirk on the Str tree gets changed

I'd call it 'sane character building'. Con should not be the primary SS for all tanks - the spec tree literally has no value if you have Str as a SS.

Also, still use Str primary even if Juggernaut gets removed/changed, so i can actually hold aggro on my might tanks. And power cost reduction is even more valuable for tanks than other roles.

And yes, I have a behemoth AT, and even without Juggernaut she'd be vastly better with Str primary. Con primary is a complete waste of 10 spec points. Even if instead of Juggernaut there was just a hole in the spec tree there she'd be better with Str primary. That's how useless Con primary is to melee tanks with strength.

Edit: True story, in 5 characters who have strength primary in my roster, not a single one has invested any points into Juggernaut. Even when they have Con as a SS. Not even my Devastator AT. I mean, I might have to do it once at some point just to experience Juggernaut. But eh, give me crit chance/severity over +~14% cryptic math damage reduction any day.

aiqa - the NTTG effect is really short lived. You can re apply TPs almost immediately afterwards, it seems to be more of an anti-vehicle measure than anti-player.

That doesn't make it any less annoying or frustrating. That was one of the reasons they removed it from mobs originally.

So, in other words, while you take Str primary, you do not take Juggernaut like everyone else. Instead you take it to up your damage a little bit. How odd.

I take your point, chaelk, but is that any less fair than the level 10 maniacs that are 20 ft away from Kodiak, or the level 14 master villain hidden away in the docks below?

This event has plenty of annoyances going for it if these things annoy you: NTTG, block breakers, 250ft attacks, pulls, knockbacks, long term holds.... they've really made it hard. But it's a temporary event, I guess, so worth giving a go. I found it quite fun trying to solo it (I can't).

Does anything but the SVs have NTTG? They're low end of boss. In any case, to solo these things: target the spawner, pop an active defense, kill spawner, then kill associated mobs.

My point was more that very regular nttg is not fun. Even less so when used by some mob that is placed on a rooftop and that has strong knocks.

My lvl 11 toon was able to handle the two groups not near the Nightmare Portal in Word of the Weasel - they seem to spawn at the level of the toon in the area. (Stay away from the portal - those guys are purple to you at that level - but you're also too low-level for them to bother coming after, so it works out). Admittedly, the new 360-degree arc on Cleave helped a lot, so if you have a toon that has an undefended quarter, you might want to be really careful there...
