Costume Bug List

edited January 2016 in Gameplay Bugs
I was asked to take over the older costume bugs thread. I'll just post mostly a copy and slowly work my way through the posts in the old thread, so please have a little patience with me.

When posting a bug be sure to include the name of the costume and, if necessary, a screenshot displaying the bug.

Please only post costume bugs, not suggestions. While I'm sure many of you want costumes available in more categories, unless it's actually causing some issues, or inconsistent across genders, reserve those suggestions for another thread. Any suggestions posted will be removed.

There is a thread dedicated only to missing materials. Please post those in this thread: http://forum.arcgames.com/championsonline/discussion/1203493/missing-materials-for-costume-pieces

note:
Costume pieces missing from certain categories will be adressed in the planned tailor overhaul, and do not need to be listed individually.

    Geometry Issues
    ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

    Female
Chest & Arms → [Costume Piece] Zombie
The normal maps on this costume are inverted. The model was changed along with the basic tights model when all those inverted normal problems were occurring, but was not corrected when the basic tights model was corrected.

Hands → [Costume Piece] Variable Robot, Steampunk Electro-Gauntlet, Armor Scalloped w/ Claws, Armor Gauntlet Spiked, Armor Gauntlet Short, Armor Blaster, Ancient Mystical Claw, Armor Gladiator Gauntlets
Fingers are not hooked up properly with the skeleton. This causes the fingers to stretch and do weird things in certain poses and animations. A good way to reproduce this is to go into the Huge Beast or Vixen stance.

    Headwear → [Costume Piece] Headband
Does not seem to be rigged properly in the back. This is causing it to do odd things when using headscales.

Legs → Robotic Right Leg → Legs → [Costume Piece] Robotic
Legs → Robotic Both → Legs → [Costume Piece] Robotic
Texture patterns and Normal Maps are oriented incorrectly. This is causing them to not line up correctly with their chest counterparts. Image Link
Patterns visibly affected (including C-Store Sets): Arcane 01, Armadillo, Camouflage, Circles 02, COPAT Camouflage, Cuts, Elemental Air, Elemental Bolt, Elemental Earth, Flames 1, Flames 2, Halves, Jeans, Jester, Leopard, Lightning Bolt, Lightning Storm, Ornamental, Ornamental Detailed, Ribbed Rusted, Sci-Fi Jumpsuit, Split Angle, Split Circuit, Split Curve, Split Line, Split X, Stitched, Stripes Halves, Stripes Sunburst, Swirl, Tiger, Tight Straps.

Chest & Arms → [Costume Piece] Tight, Skin, Tights for Jackets, Skin for Jackets
The basic female chest model has many faults, causing distortion with the textures it uses. Most textures do not align properly on the side of the model. Here is the basic female model with a UVMap overlay to emphasize where the model is distorting the textures.
    Credit to merloider | 9/26/15

Legs → Pants → [Costume Piece] Cowboy Chaps
geometry is see-through from the rear of the model. As in, you can see the world beyond your legs through your legs. The front of the pants do not seem to share the problem.
    Credit to merloider | 11/16/15

    Shoulders → [Costume Piece] Vikorin
The left shoulder is not affected by certain visual effects (examples: Starlight Aura, Bionic Shielding, Phoenix Flight).
    11/26/15

Head Type → [Costume Piece] Toxic Steel
The head is not symmetrical, this is most obvious when using eye accessories.
    11/26/15

    Full Masks → All
Model does not blink on any full mask piece that has the moth and nose covered up.
    Credit to maatmons | 01/09/16

Leg Accessories → [Costume Piece] Armor Mech
Does not seem to be rigged properly. image link
    Credit to championshewolf | 01/09/16

Chestwear → Chest Layer → [Costume Piece] Jersey Urban Tucked
    Has holes under the arms.
    Credit to championshewolf | 01/09/16

    Male
Hands → [Costume Piece] Long Glove Double Edge, Ancient Mystical Claw, Hairy Hand, Long Gloved Clawed 2, Short Gloved Clawed, Steampunk Electro-Gauntlet, Armor Tech Sleek Scalloped
Fingers are not hooked up properly with the skeleton. This causes the fingers to stretch and do weird things in certain poses and animations. A good way to reproduce this is to go into the Huge Beast stance.

Head Type → Junkbot Television Head 2 → Custom Top Accessory → [Costume Piece] Screen
Costume geometry clips into the screen. Can bee seen at the edge of the smiley face Here
    Credit to eiledon | 9/1/15

Head Type → [Costume Piece] Junkbot Television Head
Geometry clips through body even on default settings. Image Link

Head Type → [Costume Piece] Junkbot Television Head
Geometry deformation issue when body mass scale altered beyond default. Image Link

Robotic Right Leg → Legs → [Costume Piece] Robotic

    MirrorGeometry Errors
    ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

The following costumes are either missing mirrorgeometry entries or are calling to the wrong costume. This causes them to not properly display under the "both" option.

    Male
Feet → [Costume Piece] Maniacs Skull Boot
    Missing a MirrorGeometry entry.

    ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

    Both
Feet → [Costume Piece] Long Boot Tribal 2
Materials are listed as "Cloth and Skin," "Leather and Skin," and "Metal and Skin," but the options actually change both the clothing and the skin to cloth, leather, or metal.
    Credit to maatmons | 01/09/16

Feet → [Costume Piece] Scalloped w/ Claws
Changing the material for the clothing also changes the material for the skin to match.
    Credit to maatmons | 01/09/16

Feet → [Costume Piece] Wrapped Bare Feat
Changing the material for the clothing also changes the material for the skin to match.
    Credit to maatmons | 01/09/16

Feet → [Costume Piece] Wrapped w/ Claws

    Female
Chest Layer → [Costume Piece] Space Scoundrel Jacket
Missing normal maps for the Leather and Metal materials. Image Link
    Credit to animalgirl95 | 8/12/15

Legs → [Costume Piece] Arcane Tattoo
Metal material is not working, it instead uses a Leather material.
    Credit to Maidenofmayhem | 8/12/15

Chest & Arms → Skin → Skin & Cloth Tights → [Pattern] Tank Top Circle
    Texture is duplicated.
    8/17/15

    Male
Chest & Arms → Skin → [Material] Skin & Cloth Tights → [Pattern] Tank Top Circle
There are duplicate entries of this texture. However, one has defined ab muscles while the other does not.

Chest & Arms → Tight → [Detail] Inlay (Defender Variant)
Missing from the following Materials: Leather Tights.

    Texture Bugs
    ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

    Both
Cape → [Costume Piece] Hanging Cape, Cape Jacket
Chestwear → Cape → [Costume Piece] Cape
The textures unlocked from perks are not properly unlocking for these capes.

    Legs → [Costume Piece] Ravenswood
Chest & Arms → [Costume Piece] Ravenswood
Textures have a baked in muscle normal map that does not scale with the muscle slider.
    Credit to Somebob | 8/12/15

Chest Wear →Kevlar Vest Heavy 2 → [Pattern] Combat Vest Heavy/Deadman Walkin' → [Detail] Combat Vest Heavy Details
There is a visible non-colorable blue line that outlines the front of the vest. Image Link
    Credit to ealford1985 | 9/1/15

    Female
Head Type → [Costume Piece] Werewolf 02 Monstrous, Werewolf 03 Monstrous
Texture is calling to the Male version. This is causing the head to look improperly wrapped as well as causing the ears to have a uncolorable white spot.

    Hands → [Costume Piece] Webbed
Every texture available has a seem along the index finger that's using the wrong color.

Hands → Short Glove Clawed → [Pattern] Lace
Texture does not color the nails. The nails are colorable under the regular Short Glove.
    Credit to nbkxs

Hands → 5 Fingers → [Pattern] Fantasy Stripes with Nails
Hands → Claws → [Pattern] Fantasy Stripes with Nails
Only colors a small line on the nails.
    Credit to Aiqa

Chest & Arms → Gravitar → [Pattern] Basic
Texture has a baked in muscle normal map that is not present in the Lace or Lace2 texture.
    Credit to Aiqa

Hips Layer → [Costume Piece] Victorian Dress
Once had a stripe midway down the dress that was colorable by the 3rd color channel. Roughly a month after its release this option disappeared.
Credit to Chaelk and Eiledon | 8/12/15

Short Skirts → Hips Layer → Skirt Short → [Detail] Basic 2
The band around the waist on this normal map appears to be inverted.
    Credit to aiqa | 9/1/15

Hairstyle B → [Costume Piece] Ponytail
The texture is not properly applied. The ponytail shows stripes that are not present on Hairstyle A.
    11/26/15

    Male
Shoulder Pads → [Costume Piece] Fantasy
The Pattern appears to not be unlocking for players. This causes the costume to display no texture.

Chest & Arms → Tight → [Pattern] Plated Muscle
Texture does not match color channel order for the Plated Muscle Legs texture.
    Credit to Zamuelpwe| 8/12/15

Feet → [Costume Piece] Victorian Shoe Spat
The shoe and the spat linked to the first color. The Female version has the spat linked to the fourth color.

    Clipping, Orientation and Scaling Bugs
    ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

    Both
Shoulder Pads → [Costume Piece] Variable Robot
Do not scale with the shoulder scale.

    Travel power animation
Most travel powers will cause the players neck to elongate to 2-3x the normal length while in motion. Ground based travel powers will apply this affect while in their ready stance as well.
    Credit to championshewolf | 01/09/16

    Female
Hips Layer → [Costume Piece] Wizard Skirt
Has clipping issues with the majority of the legs available in the Short Skirt category.
    Credit to Aiqa

Back → [Costume Piece] Skeleton Wings, Wings Mechanical, Wings Dragon, Wings Dr Ka, Wings Bird People, Wings Bird
Most wings are not modeled specifically for females and tend to not attach properly to the back because of this.
    Credit to Aiqa

Hips Layer → [Costume Piece] Tribal Fur
When moving the tribal fur under hip wear & gear for females clips in two areas, one along the left side and the other between the legs.
    Credit to draogn | 11/26/15

    Male
Shoulder Pads → [Costume Piece] PSI Agent
Right costume hovers much higher on the shoulder than the left version.

Shoulder Pads → [Costume Piece] PSI Neophyte
Right costume is angled differently than the left version.

Shoulder Pads → [Costume Piece] Mechanon
Clips into the chest with the default scales.

Eye Accessory → [Costume Piece] Speedster Goggles 01 & 02
Any mood other than normal (facial expressions) deforms the goggles for males, for females they are no affected.

    Inconsistent Costumes
    ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

Hairstyle → [Costume Piece] Long Loose
Available for Males. The costume exists for Females but is not unlocking for them.

Bestial → Head Type → Colossus → Custom Side Accessory → [Costume Piece] Colossus
Available for Males. The costume exists for Females but is not unlocking for them.

Back → [Costume Piece] Teddy Bear Backpack
Available for Females. The costume exists for Males but is not unlocking for them. This may be intentional as the Harajuku set is female only, but seems odd to have a male version available but not unlockable.

Half Helmets → Head Type → [Costume Piece] Cyborg, Horse, Junkbot Television, Junkbot Television 2, Junkbot Toaster, Skull, Skull With Neck
Costumes available to Males under the Half Helmets category. These costumes are not available to Females under the same category.

Chest & Arms → [Costume] Tight → [Pattern] T-Shirt Rolled, T-Shirt Rolled & Buttons, T-Shirt Rolled Ribbed, T-Shirt Baseball,T-Shirt Torn texture under Skin chest.
Females are missing these under the following Materials: Skin.
    9/26/15

Males have a unique material called Bare Skin under the Skin chest option. It's understandable that females do not get this, however, females have textures found in that list littered across their own unique Skin chest materials: Serpent, Animal and Monstrous. There are a few textures that males have that should also be available to females as they are no more revealing than the textures females use in Serpent, Animal and Monstrous. The Patterns are: Swirl, Spots, Cracked Flesh Monster, Cracked Flesh Spots, Crocodile, Crocodile Stripes, and Underside.
    9/26/15

Integrated Shoulders → Chest Layer → [Costume Piece] Cowl Flair, Cowl Flair 2
Pattern Arcane Demon missing for males on both pieces and missing for females on Cowl Flair 2.

    Tailor UI Bugs
    ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

Male → Categories → Upper → Tights & Skin, Robotic Right, Robotic Left, Robotic Both, Miscellaneous, Integrated Shoulders, Jacket, Full Shirts, Chest Wear
Categories are excluding the Male Lower Skeletal category. The Female versions do not do this.

    Male → Categories → Lower → Tights & Skin
Category is Excluding the Hips Layer bone (Hips Wear and Gear). Female Lower Tights & Skin does not do this.

Categories → Weapons → Munitions Handgun, Gadgeteer Experimental Blasters
Tailor stances are calling to the wrong animations. Selecting those weapons currently places your character into the static stance instead of placing them in the appropriate weapon stance.

The Default button is calling to a texture that doesn't exist.

When selecting the fourth color for a costume piece, hovering over the color choices will not update the preview on the character model like the other three colors do.
    Credit to Zamuelpwe | 8/12/15

Categories → Weapons → Martial Arts Fighting Claws
Claw weapons are not properly mirrored. Left version is facing incorrectly.
    Credit to Psychicslug | 8/17/15

    left/right materials
On some costumes, materials cannot be individually set for the left or right side on costume pieces with a mirrorgeometry. When either left or right is given any material, the other side is changed too. A good way to reproduce is with the default costumes. When the default freeform costume from the character creator is used left/right materials cannot be set individually, when using the default costume by pressing the default key in the tailor left/right materials can be set individually.
    Credit to draogn & maatmons| 1/17/16

    Weapon color
If you set all of your base costume colors to the same color, then set all the colors of your weapon to that color, the weapon colors reset to defaults. You can do it the other way around without issue, set all your weapon colors to the same color, then set all your base costume colors to that color.

    As per your request

Chest Wear > Chest Layer > Rock
Shiny material does not match the rest of the rock set

    Bracers > Rock Claws
Shiny material does not match the rest of the rock set
    raighn wrote: »
It IS a very obvious effect on all the other pieces...

I looked at it again in game just now, and the same issue is applying to the Rock Claw (bracers)... so either the "shiny" material on ALL the other pieces needs to be toned down to come in line with the chest & claw bracers or the chest and claw bracers need their material fixed to have the same effect as the rest of the rock pieces...

For the rest of the set the "shiny" option looks like a dual luster metal, with the gemstones being shinier than the rock. (Compared with the metal texture, the gems have the metal texture on shiny, and the rest is a dulled down metal texture)

Cyber beast feet missing textures with cloth/leather materials.
Arcane Demon (Unlocked With: Demonchest of Recognition or Demon Collar) - This pattern is missing for males and npc's can use it.
Armor Superconductor (Unlocked With: Superconductor Torso) - Missing for females, npc's have this one too.
All Irradiate pieces missing for females.
4th color at tailor can't be previewed without actually clicking on it.
All jacket bottoms have weird, ridiculous puffed physics for like 4 or 5 years already.
Serpent Horned head got 2 white dots in its eyes, horribly annoying and especially noticeable if you set eyes to solid.
Long boots tribal have bugged textures for males behind at the bottom.
Headless option doesn't allow to remove eyes.
Demon Long Jaw head gets it's teeth bugging when you move the chin slider up.

Flippyflappy, please match the missing materials/glow to things already posted here: http://forum.arcgames.com/championsonline/discussion/1203493/missing-materials-for-costume-pieces

If there is stuff that has missing materials and that is not already listed, please post of those in that thread. Any bugs with existing materials can go in this one.

You can't change the individual materials on any item that has a right or left piece option, such as gloves or boots, on females.

Below are some screenshots of some pieces with some fairly bad clipping, imo. The first two are from the basic vest, the last is from the bustier strapless chest wear piece.

Not sure of the exact section for this since it's an inconsistency that might not be a bug. The boot "Long Boot Lightning" with Pattern: Lightning has four color channels with the lightning bolt object being on color 4. The corresponding glove "Long Glove Lightning" with Pattern: Lightning has the Lightning Bolt object sharing the same color channel as the outline (color 3) instead of being on a separate channel.

    Both

Feet → [Costume Piece] Long Boot Tribal 2
Materials are listed as "Cloth and Skin," "Leather and Skin," and "Metal and Skin," but the options actually change both the clothing and the skin to cloth, leather, or metal.

Feet → [Costume Piece] Scalloped w/ Claws
Changing the material for the clothing also changes the material for the skin to match.

Feet → [Costume Piece] Wrapped Bare Feat
Changing the material for the clothing also changes the material for the skin to match.

Feet → [Costume Piece] Wrapped w/ Claws

The Default Hoverboards and the VTOL ones have problems. They seem to be inverted for example the VTOL ones have ornaments on one side which has bigger turbines which should be like they appear next to Windchill in Millenium City. The Therakiel Blades hoverboards don't have this issue.

You can't change the individual materials on any item that has a right or left piece option, such as gloves or boots, on females.

I don't have this problem, is this on specific pieces?

I've had this issue too. Though I only got it on boots/feet and gloves/hands, and I got it on males too.

When I, for example, changed the material of the left boot to metal, the material of the right boot also changed to metal. I'm trying that right now on the default female costume, and it's still the case.

I was able to work around it by going with 90s Boot on one foot, and Long Boot Urban on the other. Long Boot Urban is, thankfully, missing the metal material. So when I set the material of 90s Boot to metal, the game couldn't change the material of Long Boot Urban to match, because it doesn't have a metal material.

I suppose it's possible the problem doesn't affect all users. Try exactly what I just did. Then if you don't get the issue, we'll know it's just a few people affected. Load the game up, and start creating a female character. Select Freeform and keep the default costume. Go to your boots, select just the left one, and change the material to metal. Did the right one also change to metal?

Actually found that Power tinting was bleeding it's colour into Shoulder Cannon and Minigun models.

Want to get to know me a bit better, Click me and take a read of My Dragon Profile Page, it's a bit dated but still relevant.

I take this quote from a review that I agree with.

"customisation is so linear; everyone is after the optimal dps:survivability ratio with 0 reliance on other players = autonomous gameplay... Players don't need each other anymore... which in my opinion is a bad thing."

That is very odd, I have tested with the default costume and the left and right boot can be changed to any material just fine for me. It would be good if someone came up with an idea how to reproduce this, but I don't have any ideas on what could influence the tailor like this.

I added it to the bug list, but I think more information on how to reproduce would be helpful.

Just to add to the whole Left-Right material issue... I'd like to say first: This bug occurs for me as well... and second: it affects Eyes too... Changing Eye material on Left or Right changes material for both... It's most noticeable if you want to have one Ice Eye and one Normal...

If you set all of your base costume colors to the same color, then set all the colors of your weapon to that color, the weapon colors reset to defaults. You can do it the other way around without issue, set all your weapon colors to the same color, then set all your base costume colors to that color.

reposting this as it's still not in the list...

Rock Claw Bracers & Rock Body still use a different material map for Shiny than the rest of the sets.

Demon chest of recognition- still registers as not bought after you have bought it on a separate character.
all the other demon peices got fixed except that one, so people can now waste more tokens on getting it again and again and agin
