COI + enfeeble will pretty much destroy their DR. If you can get two enfeebles on them, it's basically a death sentence if you attack while they're out of unstoppable. Problem is most CW's will spam their abilities while they get off cooldown...don't do this. Apply enfeebles right when unstoppable is going to expire, and…
This is pretty spot on. If you see them go unstoppable, just avoid them for a little while and switch to another target so you're not wasting your attacks on their temporary HP. They're pretty easy pickings if you time your CC's as soon as unstoppable goes down. With my other 60 classes, I rarely die to GWF's...you just…
Well on my GF I have around 40%DR, so it's a similar dynamic with block to soak up the damage. Just stay on the tower, and it will take years before they force you to run. Stack on regen if you feel like staying there forever...really it's the same dynamic. If they have their daily up, there's a good chance you'll die, but…
GWF sentinel build with DR and Regen hard counters this build. They can't do any reasonable damage unless they come in close, which is suicidal. With 5 stacks, I have 50%DR and 50%Deflection, which is effectively 75%DR. Along with 30k HP and regen at around 1k per 3 seconds, I can usually outheal whatever damage they throw…
I used 2xAoW pieces for the +crit, but on a whim decided to try Titan tree, and i've been much happier. If you like to stand in a middle of a fight while people wail on and call you OP while you slowly kill them one by one, I don't think there's a better option than stacking DR+regen at this moment.
Depends on the build and scenario. GWF Sentinel builds with proper gear can easily have effective 75% DR with deflection and 30k HP, which means you'd have to deal 120k damage to take them down, all while they're healing and cc'ing you. I've never lost 1v1 against a TR with my current build even when they have their daily…
How are we judging the classes...by k/d ratio, total kills, team contribution, ability to stack with the same class, or ability to hold towers? I can see a different class for pretty much every one of these categories.
Most classes take a while to be viable, but TR's are strong from lv1-60 due to their strong default attacks + stealth. They are also the easiest to play at all levels, but I believe at higher levels, the TR is still the best 1v1 class when spec'd right. Also the nerf wasn't a real nerf. They took damage from SE, but that…
Comparing (vigilant warlord helm, avatar of war scale, avatar of war bracers, vigilant warlord greeves) to get 2x set bonuses to PvP gear. Set bonus gear: +1337 recovery(11%), +329 deflection(2%), +1 AC. PvP gear: +492(3%) armor pen, +10% hp unstoppable. All other stats are about the same. The difference is really that you…
The PvP 4x bonus gives 10% hp over 10 seconds when in unstoppable. Am I crazy for thinking this might be worth more than the stat bonuses from the other T2 sets? Looking at this from a purely PvP standpoint obviously.
There are ways to make both PvP and PvE players happy. There's no point in getting angry at another group of people just because they don't enjoy the same things you do.
GF's have great burst, and will probably steal a bunch of kills if they can time their abilities well. Obviously they didn't solo 30 and 31, but took the kills from their teammates.
I'm guessing you're not 60 yet? At lower levels, they can seem overpowered since the TTK is higher. Once you hit 60, as others have noted, TR's can 1-2 shot CW that don't see you.
If they open with daggers, block and start running back. When they pop impossible to catch, continue to hold up shield, and just run away, wait for it to expire, and block if they catch up. If they pop smoke bomb on you with shield, you can continue to hold shield as long as you don't release it, but usually i'll just hit…
Everyone thinks every other class is OP, not a good measure of reality unfortunately. Rank 4-5 enchants aren't really that great TBH, and weapons and armor enchantments make a huge difference. Also your link is going to a GWF is overpowered, not GF....
Your attacks are 60 range, their lunge is 30...take advantage of this. Anyone who gets launched with bulls charge only has themselves to blame as they have to slowly and awkwardly run towards you with their shield up to prevent getting cc'd. My tactic is to cast COI on them immediately and start shooting magic missiles.…
Yep, tenebrous are only somewhat good for PvP as they provide instant burst. However they diminish greatly if the battle lasts more than 5 seconds. At worst case scenario, let's assume 7x Tenebrous at 30k HP. This is 7x(30000*.3) = 6300 extra damage every 20 seconds. This could easily be obtained by an extra crit attack or…
Depends. People are attracted to F2P games because they are...free. This attracts 3 people: 1. People who pay nothing, and just want to play since the game is free. 2. People who will pay a little, maybe just around what they would pay for a normal mmo. 3. People who pay inordinate amounts of money to gain an advantage.…
Let's not forget that some people did pay real money for these enchantments and BiS gear. 1 player paying hundreds on enchantment is worth more than 1000 people who don't pay a single penny. At the end of the day, PWE is a for profit company, and having a large gear disparity is key to them making money in any P2W game.…
With my TR I have no problems taking out GF's with my TR with my stealth + catch me + lash + smokebomb + run and refill stealth combo. Agree though, most people like to just stand there and auto-attack a GF, which is just asking for a ticket to the camp.
I've been playing MMO's since muds/zork, but that's for that quick judging comment. True, there's not as high a skillcap as say SC2(I'm in masters league) which I think is the zenith of skillcaps, but there is a huge emphasis in this game on team play and positioning/map awareness due to the low TTK. I think the TR…
My wife does the same on her rogue also. I think it's the fact that their default attack does so much damage, and they can use it from stealth. I taught her, stealth, right click, left click, then cycle through your abilities at the bottom in a row. That being said, I think TR has a very high skillcap, it's just it's skill…
Ah yes, you're absolutely right. Either way, it seems like the other guy either had insane armor penetration to go past his mitigation, or was hit with debuffs prior to the 1v1.
1 hit kills HAMSTER me off, but they have only happened to me 1-2 times since the patch. At the end of the day, I'd still rather die to a single hit than be juggled around the map for 10 seconds until I die.
Also it's simple. If anyone thinks a class is OP, just roll it yourself. Leveling is really fast, and you'll often find that the journey give you a different perspective on the class altogether. I'm actually surprised at how balanced this MMO is. Each class has the ability to burst, and punish people for mistakes.
