  • I'm not an advocate of such practices. But, out of curiosity, besides simple annoyance, how does this affect somebody else's gameplay?
  • This ^^ The first day that such a system were implemented, the foundry would be lamented with intentionally exploitable maps.
  • This must be the OP's first MMO. These forums are more fluffy than an episode of Adventureland. Back in the late 90's and through 2004, we had death threats, stalkers, people finding out where others worked and calling their employers and telling them the person was a felon or sleeping with their spouse. There were no…
  • Absolutely. However, I seriously doubt that NW would be half as popular if it didn't have player generated content. Torchlight is really the only other game to tackle the same mechanic but of course its more relevant to a Diablo crowd that to NW.
  • Always amusing. Bots aren't malevolent money hungry people out to destroy Neverwinter. Bots are tiny ants in an army of millions run by an industry that harvests gold from ALL online games. You people are so cute. Trying to step on a few ants here and there. Let it go. There is nothing, you as a player, or Cryptic as a…
  • Foundries are a huge draw to veteran players of Neverwinter Nights. The entire basis of the popularity of NWN was the ability to play modules created by your peers. It was very strategic of PW to include Module Creation (Foundries) in to NW. With that said. Without a sizable team of people to edit and approve foundries…
  • They do not respond to bug reports. Same policy when you report another player. The best you can do is watch the patch notes and hope to see if your bug was addressed. Keep in mind that devs probably have thousands of bug reports to wade through. It would be counter productive to respond/update the submitter on each and…
  • A few days wait is ok by me. I'd even wait a week. I see nothing wrong with the exchange in its current state.
  • Lag free sanctuary with minimal unnecessary zone chat. Most amenities within a few steps. This is an oasis for those of us who spend a lot of time working Professions and well worth a few days of skirmishes and/or daily quests. Considering the ease of the tasks the rewards are more than generous. Anybody who was expecting…
  • One time use will grant access only to the current character upon entry. In other words, while you can pass a single key among your characters, only one character will be able to consume the key. You'll need a separate key for each character that you want to have access to the garden.
  • I'm curious about the end time of the event. In game, it says 1 d, 12 hours.. but the webpage says June 25, 2014 at 10:00 am. Its 10:12pm on June 24th. ??
  • I would think that you would be happy too. After all, the login isn't shutdown with a message stating that the game has been terminated due to lack of revenue. While the game is F2P; it isn't exclusively F2P. MMOs like this require a revenue stream in order to deliver server uptime, and content development. The entitlement…
  • I would hazard a guess that a lot more people are purchasing keys than leaving as a result of the messages. If they annoyed the majority, they'd change their business model. I'm sure PWE has more than one marketing professional on staff. ;)
  • No. I don't want a herd of oversized dragons sitting on top of the postal couriers, merchants, bankers and brokers. The pet/mount squatting is bad enough in other games. No need to drag that garbage in to NW. I would be ok with a resize of any pet as long as they could not be summoned in town or at campfires.
  • Newer macs don't need a client. The current hardware is more than enough to run NW in Bootcamp. Older macs may need a client however. There are working Wine ports for NW as long as you don't need access to the Arc UI.
  • The entitlement never ceases to amaze me. The game is free-to-play. PW could have just as easily thrown all rewards on the Zen market and called it a day. Instead they created new content and rewards and offered it up for everybody to play for free. I'm not sure some people will be completely happy until there is an "I…
  • Eventually a publisher has to offer new content to all different play styles including PvP. If you look badk over the release history you'll note that majority of updates have been PvE since launch. Let everybody have a turn.. even if it isn't your preferred play style.

  • I love it when people complain about the only revenue model in the game. I wouldn't call it "money hungry". I would call it keeping the servers running and introducing new content frequently. Subscription model games are still out there for as little as $12/month. People who have a problem with the F2P model should…
  • This is the method I use to acquire AD as well. I can start tasks and collect awards all day long from my iPhone via the Gateway. And when I get back to my computer I can manage my purchases, etc. Takes zero effort to level up Leadership. Just time. F2P has always been the same equation. F2P = Grind. RLM=Instant…
  • Every game I've played over the years has experienced the same problem with "policing". The act becomes an exploit. People report others in order to remove them from the mix and give themselves or their own group an advantage. There are no exceptions.. this happens every single time. Unfortunately, people will exploit such…
  • Plenty of other threads regarding this issue. If you read through those, you'll have a good idea of what's going on.
  • Oh. Good. I was worried somebody wouldn't open a completely new thread for this rather than participating in one of the existing threads regarding this issue. :P
  • You are aware that this is a commercial game and not a charity right? Where do you think that revenue is generated when there is no subscription option available? Go subscribe to WoW or SWtOR or EQ2 if you want to pay a monthly fee and the right to demand all the content at no additional cost.
  • Its a free-to-play game with a marketplace revenue structure. How are you being nickle and dimed? The money you or anybody else spends is not only optional, but it sustains the future development of the game itself. I don't get the entitlement that some people adapt in a subscription free model these days. Go pay $15/month…
  • How about a way to eject those who are afk instead of penalizing those who aren't abusing the system. Its the process used in other PvP arenas/over world games. No reason NW should be the only game that penalizes everybody for the actions of a few bad apples. I wish this "baby with the bath water" mentality wasn't so…

  • Meh. I enjoy the MMO aspect of the game. However, I enjoy the Foundry campaigns as much as I did with the original single player Neverwinter Nights. I'm not even close to end game and am not concerned about the game's demise. I've sunk at least $200 in Zen.. and I suspect many others have as well. For all the doom & gloom…
  • Umm. what? Why are they forcing you in to a guild? Where is this "forced guilding requirement" you speak of? Be more specific, because the game plays just fine solo/group without a guild.
  • I'm impressed with the new generation of gamers. This kind of complaining didn't happen until at least 2 weeks after the official launch back in the day. You youngins really need to live through a real "beta" with roll backs, 48-72 hours of downtime and more tricks. Hate to sound like the kids from the AT&T commercials..…
  • This game needs.. Less unfinished Thread titles so that I don't have to read half a page of complaining before I realize its just a full page of complaining.
  • I've never had any problems buying Zen. I'm not saying there isn't an issue. But, it does appear that is affecting some people and not others. Time to look for a different common denominator besides the billing system.
