There was an official statement I can't seem to find right now that said that "PVP updates might be closer than you think", because while the PVP population on Dragon is negligible, PVP is pretty big on the Russian Drider one and might warrant an addition overall.
Also, NWO will launch in China and you have to think content updates will be dictated by that big market on the long run. Can't tell whether Asia is more PVE or PVP generally spoken.

I can tell you that chinese player are more PVP generally spoken for sure, the players had been join the Chinese server alpha test, already companies there are no open world PVP like the other mmo games. (IWD was not release on the alpha test). I have a feeling that the open pvp area in IWD will succeed on the Chinese server.

Well than that's good news for PVP I guess, because given the market sizes I'd be very surprised if the Chinese version of the game wouldn't have the most players by a decent margin. So whatever they want, we get.
BTW we need to go back to the old PVP suggestion threads. There were some awesome ideas, maybe if development is looking to expand, they could use some of those ideas. (though I highly doubt it)
nvm answered my own question with probably outdated info

Last I heard a couple weeks ago or something on livestream was that they have it in consideration but weren't really working on it or something.
Why not do a foundry competition for 5 new PVP maps? We know they could do a LOT better than the current people who have came up with all of 2 maps in over a year lol. I think this would be AWESOME
Yep, foundry PVP would the THE next big thing. But I can see why they are hesitating or might not introduce this at all, because just like the normal foundry the exploiting possibilities are huge.

The thing is, despite the Russian server, NW is not really a pvp game. These (official) forums don't even have a specific pvp section - it's lumped together with gameplay and combat. NW is a pve game that has had a bit of pvp tacked onto it. To make it a good pvp game will probably change the whole game to the extent that the pve element suffers. Guild Wars 1 eventually had to start splitting skills in two so that the same skill behaved differently in pvp and pve and it just made is so very complicated and pleased no-one.
Can anyone name a fantasy mmorpg that manages to be good at both pve and pvp? I think the two styles of game are not really compatible with each other. Maybe they need to fork the code to make "NW PVP" and give it it's own shard/server.

nope. players would not play it. look at games like sc, sc2 or similar games with an editor... they still exist because thw players generate new maps and game mods by themself. if cryptic would allow similar thinga with the foundry it would be wonderfull.

I cant belive im saying it, but shayia online is kinda lika that ( at least was till mod4, when i quit) But there was much diffrent mechanics, short: pve rly didnt mater, raid leader were just directing ppl to position when server was reseted, And we killed that poor dragon + bosses inside a lair, which was giving a total of 6 or 7 "best itemes in game" per week xD Rest of the week we were just killing each other in oPvP. Inbalance was there too, almost all whales were on dark said and were making 1 guild xD Lights had not so many p2w,

This ^^
The first day that such a system were implemented, the foundry would be lamented with intentionally exploitable maps.
