No, they cannot wait to release Mod 5. The release is being dictated by WotC, the company that holds the IP license. This is to tie in to the release of 5th edition and Tyranny of Dragons modules for the PnP game. Read the game news for further insight into this.
Just because you feel looting greens is not worth your time, does not mean I have to subscribe to the same opinion. You play the game your way, and I will play it my way. It is not for you to dictate how I play. Now I will agree, picking up the loot during the fight is not the most intelligent thing to do. I wait till…
There is only one aspect to the game - DPS. The only content is killing monsters. In order to even begin balancing the game they need to introduce more aspects and content that requires skills other than doing damage.
I will also voice my opposition to this. The speed running in dungeons in is already ridiculous. If anything things should be done to slow runs down. Dungeons are supposed to be crawled through, not sprints.
I actually liked this event. The battlefield fights were chaotic, with masses of enemies and allies all over the place. There were enough enemies that the fights weren't over in a matter of seconds, the dragons had a good amount of HPs, so those fights were at least decent even with the zerg groups. With the many different…
On the cooldown timers: For the Summer Festival, you do have to have some gap between events so people can get from one to the other. The Waterfight and the Troll Hunt were in the same area so no travel required, but the Farming event was on the other side of the map. Even with the fastest mount you would wind up missing…
Excellent question. While I am not a big fan of the current method, it is not totally off putting for me either. I understand content does need to be gated in some way so people do not burn through it in one day. I will need to give it some thought, before I would be able to give a coherent and intelligent answer.
I do not understand your fascination with 10 man raids. What would it add to the game that would make it so exciting? I don't think it would be the magic elixir your hoping for. When you start getting into crowded fights, the lag becomes an issue. Within a couple of days it would turn into a speedrun to the boss, just like…
You helped in a small way during the tutorial. The "wizard" you saw was a Scourge Warlock named Makos, you will meet him again. The main force that repelled the invasion was Lord Neverember and the Neverwinter Guard (who are actually mercenaries hired by Neverember). He was aided by SGT Knox (a great weapons fighter),…
This is well truly beyond grinding, it's getting into the realm of masochism. How often are we supposed to have to run HEs to get the drops? At this point I am well over 500HEs between IWD and ToD, and have yet to get anything beyond some blue crafting materials. This includes soloing or duoing IWD HEs, and 6 manning…
Wil Wheaton is also a huge D&D nerd. He has appeared at many GenCons to play the game, and there is also an entire series on YouTube of him playing with his group. So for him to do a D&D voice over would not be all that surprising.
I hate to break it you, but this game is barely an MMO. I say that not because of the high amount of single player content (which I thoroughly enjoy), I say that because of the community. While you have bad behaviour in any MMO, this one seems to have it in spades. The trolls, the downright rude and insulting zone chat,…
These are supposed to be dragons. They are at least in the Mature Adult stage of life (the 7th of 12 stages) and should be smart enough to use all of their considerable power that they have available. Flying is one of those, attacking from the air, a dragon is not just going to sit there and let people beat on it. Many…
To get back to the OP's point. You are correct there is no reward for skill and teamwork. Even if you have the best teamwork, the RNG will determine your reward. You can be the most skilled player in an HE, and still walk away with lowest reward because the RNG went against you. Even dungeons and skirmishes which force you…
While I can sympathize with the new players going through a zone if a hard cap of 15 is introduced it would certainly reduce the zerg fests that are currently happening with the dragons. I fought all 5 dragons today, the longest part was just waiting for the dragon to appear. In my last 2 fights, I did not even get a full…
I was specifically referring to the Moderators, not Cryptic as a whole, so your question of do they play at high level should mean the Moderators only. To answer that question about the Moderators, I do know at least two of them do. More than likely all of them do. Their level however is irrelevant to the function. The…
This is just adding yet another layer of bureaucracy. We already have the Moderators who read the forums everyday, have experience playing the classes, and the playing game. They are already trusted agents of Cryptic, just ask them for a summary of the feedback.
Your kidding right? Your talking about a community where a dungeon run of over 10 minutes is too long, and wiping at the boss once is considered a failed party and 3 out of 5 will quit rather than trying again.
Yes, It is completely random in Icewind Pass and Dwarven Valley. The only way to get to specific instance is to be invited by someone that is already in that instance, then you join them.
For the IWD HEs you either around 20 people or you get 2 people. Very seldom have I done an HE with 5-7 people. I have also noticed the further it is from the entrance the less likely it is people will show up to do it. The RNG formula for the drops is really mystifying. In one HE I killed the first giant by myself, the…
