I was caught by the profanity filter for writing the word "put" followed by the word "a" with a space in between. This is a pretty clear example of extremely common speech patterns that should not be banned, due to a mild resemblance to a foreign swear word. Seems to be dialled up a bit too high.
Have now tested it with a group of 3 level 30-35. Encounters seem to have the correct level of difficulty, for the most part - though the final boss may need to be made more difficult. Would love to hear some outside thoughts? :)
The room by room approach is a good way to learn to tone it down, but i think once you have a feel for play-pace you can go back to blocking in rooms at the start. The main problem caused by doing the rooms first is the 'lets fill this with stuff' mentality that occurs. If you can place each room with a vague purpose…

Obviously, it would be great if you could provide at least small chances at great loot - or tokens of some sort, but every time you do this, it leaves it open to exploitation. Even adding in a system where people need to be 'approved' by dev review, in order to have better…
As others have said: the best way to learn is to have a seperate combat test map, and simply drop the encounters in one by one to try them out. Failing that - someone did a list of monster stats with a (brief) ability list in there too:…

I kept looking for a lever and finally realised that a key would work just as well. all you need is an objective chain that looks vaguely reminiscent of: kill monster -> interact with chest (drops key) -> unlock door (consumes key).…
Im not sure of the exact cause - however, i can list a few tricks for troubleshooting the problem: Check the Y value (vertical height) of the spawns (layout & detail individual - they can differ) isn't incorrect, or clipping the ground. Try moving the spawn, patrol points and all, into an empty spare room (make sure its a…
