Well ain't this a kick in the teeth. I'm a casual player here with an account with 4 toons on it. Yes, they are all leadership, but only one is 20. I can only play 5-7 hrs a week and I don't want that time to be jacking around with professions. That's is what the Gateway is for. Waiting anxiously to see what the…
PvP in the sub 60 tiers is horribly broken because of them. You just hope that your team has an equal number of PalaWINs so you can at least stalemate 'em.
I think the AD sinks worked pretty well, but now the ZAX is rising again and testing the trend. I believe they need to look at AD generation IF the current rise continues, because no matter how good the sinks are, they get played out eventually and you're back to a rising ZAX.
I can't believe how many people have their panties in a wad because of the Knox companion. Good grief, it's a companion. Whoop de do! Don't get me wrong the idea of raffles as an AD sink is a good idea, but not just for companions. How about coal wards, various respecs, mounts, etc. It could be a monthly raffle and the…
I'm leveling Leadership (18 atm) just using tasks which generate AD. Mainly because I'm a casual player and I need AD! ;) lvl 4, Protect Caravan, 50 AD/hr lvl 10, Battle Undead, 66.7 AD/hr lvl 12, Collect Taxes, 100 AD/hr - need 1 district map lvl 16, Fight Off Spellplagued, 66.7 AD/hr + green barrel lvl 17, Deliver…
...and back to the original point of the thread... Yes, the ZAX is slowly going down. Probably a bunch of things: all that ill gotten AD slowly flushing out, people quitting, people pulling down their listings, etc. I'm glad to see it.
Of course there's exploiters in every game, but it seems (my opinion here) that this game is riddled with exploits, and it seems punishment is lax which encourages them further. At least in my previous games, you always saw "Why was I banned?" crying posts which let you know the game was actively pursuing cheaters and…
Hopefully they haven't released any public info because they're doing a huge investigation into this. But like someone else said, my confidence in this game is really shaken. I'm a casual player. I've bought 1500 zen with cash before and was contemplating buying a greater bag and a couple more character slots, but it's on…
Wow, back when I played we only had 3 books, Player's Handbook, Monster Manual, and Dungeon Master's Guide. The basic classes were fighter, magic user, cleric, and thief. Ranger, paladin, druid, bard, and illusionist were there for added flavor. Ah, times were simpler back then. :)
Bottom line is that no one knows what metrics Cryptic is using to measure the economy. We do know they don't want the ZAX circumvented by using keys for currency and that they feel 500 AD = 1 zen is as high as they want the exchange right now.
I disagree. When the "worthless" keys are used for their actual purpose, opening lockboxes, the stuff put on the AH drives prices down so more people buy stuff AND more transactions on the AH pulls more AD out of the economy.
Key traders, "But I can't do "A" anymore!" Sensible people, "Sure you can. Just do "Y". Key traders, "But I can't do "B" anymore!" Sensible people, "Sure you can. Just do "Z" Key traders, "But I can't do "A" anymore!" Sensible people *walks away shaking head* And the ZAX is going down, 5.3 mil atm.
Yep, until a decent AD sink is in the game, the best way to get zen is to buy it with real currency. I'm sure Cryptic is happy right now. I did my part and posted a 400 AD to 1 zen order, lol. I doubt it will ever be filled. :(
The "problem" is that people sitting on a mountain of AD already play the market and buy up cheap stuff and relist it at higher prices to make more AD. That makes it tougher on you and me to buy things. Yeah, you can get a Pig for 110k now (summer event is coming soon tho) or a Mimic for 140K, used to be 80 or 90 tho.
