Has anyone else noticed that the back log on the ZAX is now down to 12.5m? I would love to see it below 10m before Labor Day and I think it is certainly possible but not likely. It is definately moving in a downward direction. I'm very happy to see that happen
I see it as a good sign. Honestly if it stays at a 1.5-2 week wait period. I have no real issue with it. When it was constantly increasing (for whatever reasons), that was troublesome. I understand we shouldnt expect instant zen, not since the heydays of mod1/mod2. Other than some ingame bugs, things look brighter than a few/couple weeks back.
it seems to be dropping at around 100k a day lately. I do not know if it will keep this up though. I would expect it to stabilize at a some point eventually.
100-200k zen sold a day is quite normal. It's been like that roughly since mod3 was released. Maybe people are giving up on getting their zen through the ZAx and buy them directly. It would be a bad development if that was the reason, but it's good for the people who had the patience to wait.
I personally think the new AD sink is going to be buying Blues and Purples from the AH to feed the new artifacts. I read that folks have spent 90 mil on just one belt...****

From Cryptics point of view it would be a very good thing.

Simplest explanation, people are fed up with it and quiting.

That wouldn't hurt Cryptic much either. They do not earn money from people who get their Zen by AD trading and free players are dime a dozen and they won't miss them.
Only when the Zen flow slows down Cryptic would start to actually care about the economy. I waited 15 days when the backlog was 13.5 mil so its about 100k Zen a day that gets bought and put into the ZAX.

And those players tell their friends that game not to play this game and word of mouth gets around that the game is bad, new players slow to a trickle, paying players leave because the game is empty. This is how f2p games die.
the zax is stabilizing after months of a certain exploit driving it sky high. The amount of daily zen sold for ad far exceeds 100 to 200k. The reason is due to the fact that demand for zen is less than the zen being sold that day resulting in the backlog of zen to drop 100k per day which is the sign of a lot of zen being turned into ad.
my rough estimate on how much zen is sold per day is around 700k to 1 mil which is exceeding how much is being asked for each day.

Which is the huge worry for those of us who don't want the servers to become a ghost town.
Just check the first couple of pages of reviews on the Neverwinter Online Steam page:

The word out there is already pretty bad so this doesn't change anything. And no matter how bad the reputation is, F2P games still attract players just because it is free to try them out.
Also, because of the license, Wizards of the Coast is doing a lot of advertising for Neverwinter through the D&D branch, especially now as the new edition launched. Also, you seem to assume that Cryptic wants to keep this game running indefinitely. Once they wrought all money they can get out of it they put it on the back burner like Champions Online or cancel it completely and grab the next brand they can cheaply make an MMO out of.
and ask yourself if you were a new player would you bother with a game with reviews so negative or try something else with better user reviews.
Holy HAMSTER man, I didn't realize that only the idiots were posting reviews on steam. I am very very happy with this game and Neverwinter is the MMO for me right now. I put a positive review on there as soon as I read this.

It's pretty good, you still have to grind a lot though, would recommend

It's an MMO people, grinding is the name of the game, as for the f2p part, they have to make money somehow, so why wouldn't they reward players who pay for stuff?

If you support neverwinter you support a company that misleads their customers with poor care for their product. How long did it take for them to fix DD chests? Icewind dale still has bugged adds with more damage and health than they usually have and after finishing pvp/a dungeon in a party it will continuously loop you in and out of the party. Also MC still lags at max settings since mod 2 no matter how good your gpu is. The foundry was completely broken recently. Blue glyphs can instantly melt you. Where's the basic level of testing? Also /killme hasn't worked since mod 3. Of course there are a load of other bugs too. They also made the new refining system a hassle which you will notice if you want to refine artifact weapons and belts in particular, can't balance, and put coal wards up at a ridiculous $10 paywall. So no they are not idiots to leave negative reviews for a game and company that blatantly has lots of flaws that people who aren't blind fanboys can see.

If you play Neverwinter, you support the game.
If you believe the game studio intentionally misleads its players you are more gullible than you should be, it is perhaps better you think with your head rather than your heart. If you genuinely feel what you are writing then why are you still supporting the game? If all the 'issues' you mention are so easy to fix why are you not describing your solutions and how to accomplish them? Obviously your opinion is welcomed, as all opinions should be welcomed. It'j just the consistently oxymoronic ones that I find quizzical. But so be it. You have a right to feel the way you do, but it also doesn't make you any more correct than anyone else and vice-versa.
As for the subject of this thread: I've been stating from the beginning that it will take patience and time. Things will right themselves eventually. It's happening in the real world economy and it will happen in the Neverwinter economy. It simply tales observation and adaptation.

I never said whether it was intentional or not. The fact is that they do it multiple times. They had the opportunity to correct themselves in the dragonborn pack and remove the statement saying that pack was a limited time sale but they didn't which makes it even more misleading. It's pretty unlikely that they made the decision to do so the minute the 'sale ended'. Why do I still play? Coz I'm an idiot who's invested too much time and too stubborn to quit right now. If I knew when I started playing the things I know now I wouldn't have started playing the game let alone buy anything from them.
As for the issues not being hard to fix. Kessels retreat required more than 20% black ice resistance. It was repeatedly mentioned on preview yet they don't fix it until after people couldn't get in on live. It should be simple matter of checking a single figure and they were already working on entry requirements of KR but completely missed the mark. That alone should show how bug fixing isnt there thing to put it nicely. There's also the launch of the 2nd lockbox where people got free inferno nightmares. That was reported and ignored. When they fixed the CN walkround they fixed 1 side and completely ignored the other, not that I care about it. Seriously there's just no justification for the lack of care shown in their game and I would not play another perfect world game for that reason.
The more flaws they introduce and the more controlling the forums get, the more frustrated and unforgiving I get.
I completely agree we should be patient. But what Frishter says is the issue. I am not a lifer of PWE. I do not follow any publisher devoutly. I did however follow RaiderZ. I really considered playing it till I saw things go real south there. I understand Cryptic is not Maiet. But Raiderz had issues that PWE/Cryptic had to deal with and should of been looked at closely in development and implementation in this game. The 2 big ones, duping and stat stacking. Raiderz had some type of duping of a currency/refinement called belcyium, which was important in their refining/enchanting system. We saw duping here as well. I will not go into detail but search for it, you will see. It was patched gladly but not sure how much got into the system. Same thing with stat stacking.
It isnt I dont trust the company, but it doesnt look good when these same economy effecting and gampley issues hit multiple games of theirs.
All that said. I still think neverwinter is a good game. And still would recommend it as f2p title. They just need to tighten ship a bit more, before releasing to prevent these same issues from reoccurring. You can turn a blind eye only so many times.
btw total amount of zen sold daily is a lot more then 100k some ppl mention here think it some 1.3m+ while ppl bid some 1.1 or so per day so totall amount of zen on bid reduce by some 100k per day or so

I agree. I read several of the negative reviews on steam. Most of them involved not very bright people who either (1) did not know what they were doing at all, (2) wanted everything in the game without ever paying one cent, or (3) complained about a simple glitch that was later resolved.

In fact I don't feel any regret for the game at all." looomis said, "I don't like people changing to alts and then bragging about their mains like schizophrenic role players."

Actually from a new user point of view those reviews are mostly accurate. They won't know some of the tricks we use to maintain some wealth generation such as leadership alts, invocation alts, where to farm, etc etc. While a few specifics are wrong I think they are a pretty good impression of what a new player that just hears about the game and starts playing without doing research will find in this game. That's a problem and part of why the ZAX among other things has to be fixed ASAP. (not by removing the cap, we need to protect new players not kick them in the groin to drop them to their knees and shoot them execution style)
...and back to the original point of the thread...
Yes, the ZAX is slowly going down. Probably a bunch of things: all that ill gotten AD slowly flushing out, people quitting, people pulling down their listings, etc. I'm glad to see it.

The issue of MC is complex to solve.
I could even get ideas (I know the problem is the "rain", probably). But for that I should enter "mechanics of engine," and I can't do in forum.
(almost took flag for talking as that AD exploit works, I'm not stupid)
The people have to understand "not everything can be opined on the forum."
There is problems are unique issue of devs.
My MC doesn't lag on any of my 3 machines any-more anyway back OT most of the FTP games on Steam have negative reviews I find check out Marvel Heroes as another example

Say that "has been tested in a excellent machine, and this was the problem." I can not give details, but I've made the same mistake.

Seriously, complaining about MC a waste of time. Sometime they will solve it.

I not spoken of ZAX.
Yes, noticed yesterday it declined.
I hope this is a good sign.

Unless you regularly dump hundreds of dollars into the game like the targeted whale demographic Cryptic doesn't care how frustrated you are. There are a lot of free players out there and even if the forum would be on fire despite all the censorship, only a small fraction of the playerbase read it anyway. The rest is ignorant to all the systematic issues and continues to play (and more importantly, pay).

I have dumped hundreds of dollars into this game. Cryptic doesn't care how much money you spend. Everyone gets treated the same.
