Better and more meaningful achievement rewards would be nice. Most authors are probably intrinsically motivated to make quests, but being rewarded (and not being the purpose of making quests) could help authors to strive in making better quests. Because atm, most of the rewards are pretty much negligible. Aside from…
Yes, yes, and yes. In the end, you can get all sorts of comments and reviews as the author, not to mention the possiblity of having the average duration for your quest get reduced to below 15 and have no one play it anymore.
For the controller's skin, I think it was towards the end, by the portal. I'm not much of a lore expert myself and I based my opinion from playing the cryptic campaigns. Imo, demons and undead/shadows are two separate themes. It's much safer to make your own lore like you did with the other one. All the best :)
Hello, I thought the quest was nice. But, it looked a bit colorful and sunny for a supposedly doomed town. Also, I don't really see the Ashmadai working together with the Shadarkai. From what I know, the Ashmadai are ritualists doing ritually stuff for Asmodeus, a demon lord. While Shadarkai are mostly necromancer/undead…
Dude, your concern is so unreal that I'm not sure if you're being serious or not. If you wanted your character's name to be unique, then you should have, I dunno, come up with a unique name. If you're unsatisfied with your character's current name, then purchase a rename token. So far, I haven't seen anyone else with my…
Hello, I went ahead and played the siren quest. I liked the environment as well as the humor. But I think you could have did more things on the sirens themselves. Anyway, here are some of my notes. 1) The charmed sailors as well as the sirens had a group name of '^'. 2) The music stops after a while. I would sorta replay…
Yup, there's a cap. If you beat too many mobs too quickly then they stop dropping loot and exp for a certain time. Yup, if your motivation is monetary gains, then farm the crpytic maps or join dungeons. If your motivation is the love of a good story or humor, even the thrill of the combat system, then foundries are for you.
The quest was great. Stylish just like your 'Danger in the Sky' quest :). My only concern is that the quest may be a bit too short. The average duration is at 15 minutes right now, but it might dwindle to 14 somewhere in the future. When you get the time, try my quest out. It only needs 2 more plays to be daily eligible :).
With the screenshot, I usually take one and paste it in paint, then save it on my desktop. Then I upload to photobucket and put it here. A quest doesn't have to be 15 minutes, it just needs to stop at the right moment. Sometimes a 30 or 40 minutes quest can be just as good. However I think an hour should be max. As for the…
I'm sorry, but I have to go against your warning. I got the hint that it would be long, but I recommend you splitting it up and putting it under a campaign. To be fair, your description of long is kinda vague. The quest was good, but simply too long. After an hour plus of playing I got a bit disinterested and started…
Hey man, I'll take a look at your quest :). However, I think you might need to ease up on the texts a lil bit, can be a bit intimidating for some. Instead, put things like screenshots to describe the theme, etc.
Hey man, I went ahead and played your quest. It was alright, but I think you can do a bit more for the encounters. The difficulty was alright, I think it's pretty much standard difficulty. The story is nice as well :). Anyway, here are some of my notes, hope you find them useful :) : 1) Some of the mobs that were named…
Hello, I went ahead and played your quest. I really like how detailed the areas were. There were even books on the beam of that granny's house! Also, I thought the lore was interesting as well :). However, it seems I've stretched the average duration quite a bit :( It's at 55 minutes now (think I took about an hour xD).…
Hey man, I went ahead and played your quest :). 1) It was good, but I was a bit ticked off by the amount of 'Enrinyes + 2 Hellguards' encounters. If you could add more non Ashmadai encounters and skin them as Ashmadai, it could make the combat less repetitive. 2) Besides that, I would prefer to have some sort of ambient…
Hey there, I went ahead and played your quest. It was good, but there were some things I want to comment on. Also, I was surprised how knowledgeable Guard Frinko was, but I guess not all guards are simple :p. I accepted your quest while in Vellosk, so I think it's the most updated one. It had around 18 plays I think.…
I'm pretty sure you're experiencing this problem : http://nw-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?482661-Foundry-mission-not-updating-live-(Updates-not-showing-until-instance-switch) A lot of us are :/
Hey there, I went ahead and played your quest. I will PM you some notes as soon as I finish writing this. I was really impressed by the amount of lore in this, and it felt like playing Neverwinter Nights again :). I'd appreciate it if you could check out mine anytime you can (it's in my sig). However, there's a bug about…
Hey guys, I've reworked the story of the foundry. Now there's a default ending, and another one that unlocks by going through the dialogue/story. Let me know what you guys think. I'm still looking for reviews :).
Hey guys, thanks for playing and reviewing my quest :). I was actually planning on putting more story elements so that the foundry will become both a story based and combat based kind of quest. This is mainly because there's already an abundance of 'arena' type quests out there. Am also planning on changing the name of the…
Could use some camera manipulation. Like having a dialogue between several npcs and having the camera actually zoom at their faces/bodies. Also good for introducing bosses, areas, and such.
Maybe Cryptic should make it so that people can't write reviews at first. That ability only unlocks only when you get a certain foundry authoring achievement, like one of the earlier and easier ones. That way, at least they've meddle with the foundry authoring a bit and can appreciate people's work better. And we don't…
Question. Do I have to be signed in to google mail to put in a review? I cant seem to see the one I put in. Sry if this has been asked, I couldnt find it.
I think a balance of the two is good. For example, why would I wanna hack and slash the enemies if there's no motivation to do so? Also, if they're just randomly placed mobs (I mean type, not location), then there's no sense of completeness or wholeness. Just okay, mash buttons, done. Might as well just play some other…
