The lack of ranged skills can be very annoying at boss fights. When you have to run out of an AoE around the boss, you just lounge about doing nothing, while nearly every other character can build aggro in the meantime. I think most of you are speaking about pvp, where there's indeed no need for ranged GF attacks.
From the preview patch notes: http://nw-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?388471-NW-3-20130701a-0-Patch-Notes They'll never 'fix' stalwart the way you want. I even replied there because I was disappointed, and the devs clarified it's working as intended and it's only a tooltip fix.
After about 3 or 4 tries my guild succeeded in doing it. We had the guardian on the boss and the rogue swinging away from the back in the armor phase, which worked very well. Ghost phase was indeed chaotic because it can't really be tanked apparently. The only solid advice I can give it to take note of when he teleports,…
How on earth are you 1 hitting rogues at 10.5k GS?? I have an 11.5 GS GF conqueror spec and I hit for about 3-4k dmg per encounter. 1 hitting people? That's way out of my league. I have no Tene's though.
The big patch that increased guardian threat by 35% and fixes a few bugs? Or the more recent one where a guardian can block any single hit with full block meter making it so you need at least 2 hits to kill one when they block? You can consider GF's a strong class, but I really doubt more threat makes them kill you faster.…
The only thing the patch notes say is that a single hit that does more dmg than a GF can block will only take away the block meter, not kill them as well. This is more an issue in pve than in pvp. The only exception I can think of are some rogue skills that rip straight through block like a knife through butter.
You must be doing something horribly wrong, or something changed since yesterday. All the patch notes say is that now a guardian fighter can block at least one full hit before their guard drops. You're probably one of the people saying their guard stays up forever so you won't be affected at all by this patch.
I agree about the GF gearscore. It's silly how 1 feat can add about 2k to their gearscore. It's a good feat, but not worth 2k gs. A 9.5k GF should be a decent asset in T2 for example, but they really aren't.
You should stop confusing 'tank' with 'guardian fighter'. All those guardian fighters doing insane damage are full dps specced, have insane gear and probably use knight's challenge. My GF only has a 11.2k GS and rank 5 enchants, and does 3-4k dmg on target dummies with encounters and is fully dps specced as well. I agree…
Yes, everyone agrees TR, CW, GWF and GF deal too much dmg and should be nerfed (except the people who play said classes). Also nearly everyone agrees that DC's are a joke now.
You need to consider the baseline. If you have 1000hp and you get +100, that's +10%, if you get another +100, you get +200 so that's 20%, etc. Otherwise every stat has diminishing returns, while dps-wise they get the same results. If you get from 1% to 2% crit, you get a 100% crit increase. If you get from 51% to 100%,…
I agree, this is flat out impossible in almost every conceivable situation. I do believe clerics have a tough time in PVP atm though, they currently need to kill/assist to get score and are pretty squishy when focused on.
Knight's challenge doubles damage (taken and dealt), if you need 3 crits without it, you need 1.5 crits with it. I've never ever seen a GF one shot anyone, with or without crit.
Currently any class with good gear can kill other classes in a few hits. I think a DC is the obvious exception though. Tanky or not, guardians die in seconds, just like all the others. And it shows on the forum. There are calls to nerf all the classes, the way cryptic actually listens to feedback, they might just do it too.
Oh yes, I forgot about griffon's wrath. But you can't slot all three anyway, you need Knight's Challenge if you want to 3 shot anyone on a GF. Or fight someone in green gear.
Tab is a simple pull skill. I even think it's our only pulling skill. It's use is very situational but it's safer to use than to run up to a group and run back if a second group is close.
I'm not sure what exactly it was you read, here's all the info about the balance update: http://nw.perfectworld.com/news/?p=907501 It certainly looks like they're trying to fix it.
