Sorry, I should have specified: I want to open the portcullis when a lever or other switch or object is interacted with - not the door itself. Also, I don't want it to just 'appear' open - I want it to actually animate. This is what I was looking for. Thanks :)
Ya, I get that - but it also doesn't necessarily mean their method of doing things is perfect - or that some other enterprising person or group of persons outside Cryptic won't/can't do just as good a job with it or better.
It would be nice if the quest log would keep track of the foundry missions you've done (each first time doing one) or at least for the featured foundry missions.
Ya, I didn't really expect to have XOR or NAND - but not even OR? Really? Does anyone know what Cryptic's path forward is for the foundry? Do they even have one? *EDIT* would be nice to have at least some limited scripting functionality such as simple if ... then ... statements: if ( object.condition | actor.condition ) {…
Well if it doesn't, that's a real pity. It really limits the functionality and what we can do with it. They could have just exported a class library subset or something to the client-side and had that do operations on content which is checked before uploading it to the server-side db
the last one you mentioned was actually the one I was referring to, but thanks for telling me about #2 as well. Now I can finally stop banging my head against that particular wall.
wow. my face and my palm are both sore now really cryptic? REALLY??? This level of censorship is a bit ridic IMO makes me think cryptic are trying out for the police in farenheit 451
Ya.. when a boss takes 15-20 minutes of just solid nuking to take down then there's something wrong. It just gets tedious at that point. You don't really have any threat of dying, it's just ridiculous amounts of health. It's a pretty terrible way to artificially inject "difficulty" in any game.
Do we have to have already published something to join? Is there a minimum star-count for review of something we've published that we have to meet as a criteria for joining? Will you be running a ts/vent/mumble server for the guild?
All of these roadblocks are making it really more difficult than it should be for me to make my campaign and quests. There's only so far that creative workarounds can take you in a given scenario. Here's hoping for vastly improved/expanded functionality/flexibility and feature-set for the foundry in the future.
I understand where the OP is coming from, but this is a game based on a very set-in-stone background and lore which has predefined races. I know it sounds dismissive, but in this case, you may want to look for a different game if you are really craving a more "unique" race selection.
A lot of times I just wish they'd let me do the quest/dungeon/skirmish solo. Screw parties and that "trinity" bullcrap. Just let me do it myself. I'd probably get it done faster than having to first wait for a whole party to form anyway - or die trying - but at least I'd be trying as opposed to standing around or running…
I understand their reasoning for making cc not work on bosses - understand, but not agree. When you base half of a class's abilities and effectiveness around the whole idea of CC and then take that away in every boss fight, you are effectively giving that one specific class a 50% handicap versus a different class who just…
I do agree with the OP's assessment of budget limits - to an extent. I don't think it's right that we have the same detail budget on a large map as we do on a small map. Larger maps need to have more objects populating them than small maps - in order to make them feel natural or not "empty". As it is currently, we are…
