GWF won't get any improvement with M6 launch, we get one probably weeks or a month later.
I don't recommend to play a GWF as new ones, Only High-Maxed GWFs will have a small chance to survive BUT lower gwf = ZERO chance.
try the new paladin class or other classes.
<::::::[]==0 GwF 0==[]::::::> ● Still waiting for the promised Improvement ●
It's debatable whether SW or GWF is the worst class in Mod 6. But yes, they're both in a pretty rough spot right now.
The SW at least has the luxury of distance. Only really comes into play in a party though....
Solo, they agro, and are in your face in a heartbeat with NO ability to avoid 100% damage with dodging. Dodge avoid 30% of the damage, a pile of HAMSTER if you ask me and they don't even get CC options like the TR/HR/CW.

My GWF is pretty maxed out, but I still feel very weak compare to most other classes in preview, for healing class (DC/OPally) we have no chance of killing them, for other DPS classes, they DPS and survive better than us (in terms of PvP), its just disaapointing...
I am planning on lvling to 70 first then take a temp leave to play some other game for a little then come back to check out how it goes... at the moment I just dont feel like GWF's worth anymore investment...

Yeah, GWFs are in a really rough spot atm. To be fair though in PvP it's almost impossible to kill an OP even when you gang up on one 5 v 1. Hell it's worse than trying to take down a skilled GF, assuming equal GS. Tried to 1v1 an OP with my HR, he literally just face tanked me by healing with Cure Wounds and a bunch of other passive healing effects. Whenever I even started making a dent, he'd just tab or shift for a bit and BAM back to full health. Got lucky on one rotation once and got him low, though maybe I stood a chance if I could repeat it, but nope, Lay on Hands, back to full health. >.<

The GWF is an amazing all-around utility class. A bit of tank, a bit of DPS, a bit of crowd control.. you just have to know your character and how to capitalize on its strengths. I love my GWF.
As for changes to GWF, I invite you to check out the Patch Notes:
Great Weapon Fighter
Intimidation Feat: This feat now deals 25/50/75/100/125% of your weapon damage (instead of scaling on your power). This damage is amplified by power. Intimidated targets now take 100/200/300/400/500% more threat from you (up from 10/20/30/40/50%).
Sentinel's Aegis Feat: Now also passively increases threat generation by 250%.
Reaping Strike: Damage Resistance granted while charging Reaping Strike has been increased to 20% (up from 8%).
Reaping Strike: Damage no longer decreased for hitting multiple target and Damage increased by roughly 25%
Reaping Strike: Determination gain while charging Reaping Strike is now increased by 25% base (up from 5%) and now gains 10% per rank (up from 5%).
Sure Strike: Damage of the final strike increased by roughly 30%.
Unstoppable: No longer reduces the damage of At Will powers.
Weapon Damage increased by roughly 20%.
Wicked Strike: Damage of the final strike increased by roughly 15%.
Wicked Strike: No longer does reduced damage when hitting multiple targets.
Looks to me like they've really beefed up the GWF.

my bet is: on a party with a gf/dc a decent destroyer swordmaster gwf will be great great great, maybe better than ever. maybe worse than module 2 OPness but still great.
Sentinel is a dead paragon (out of pvp anyway). and module 4 intimidation was lame as hell, no one will drop a chance to get a gf/paladin to get a sentinel gwf.(unless you get really chill guys and/or use a slot for dps).
GWf has already no party buffs apart from sots feat and marking and since always running with a gf/pala will make everyone marked anyway, just go dps and enjoy your new unstoppable buff.
For pve or you go dps or you go home.
just make sure you actually make them more tanky than glass cannon , gwf benefits heavily on lots of hp and lifesteal and every gwf even dps should have big hp pool anyway.
I think I'll be dusting my SM/dest GWF in module 6, looks like fun.
I'm not what you'd call a GWF lover or anything, but
doesn't sound like good news for a GWF in PvP.
GWF's At Will powers used to do reduced damage while Unstoppable, and now that shouldn't happen. I don't PvP so i might be missing something, but how is that not good news for a GWF?
Because is a class that can do this and that, is not good at either of them. At least those under-geared, as a tank, it cannot survive the adds from tiamat even if its 1v1 and as dps it takes forever to kill something compared to any other dps class. Now with life steal and regeneration changes, i bet no GWF will survive at all neither pve or pvp. (unless of course you are a Pay to win character with a bunch of $$$ to waste in a game or you just have really nasty gear because you can play 24-7) GFW was my 1st class and i could see how even a devote cleric could do more damage than me with less gear. In dungeons even with almost 15k GS sometimes i get kicked only because i am a GWF. I ask "why i got kicked" they answer "Because GWF sucks" without even give me a chance to prove them wrong...

That line got me confused as well. Is it outgoing damage, or incoming?
Edit: lol, i totally failed on the quotes there, but whatever.

Seriously? That's actually a BOOST to a GWF.. while "Unstoppable", a GWF is immune too pretty much everything.. I can stand in front of Tiamat while Unstoppable and take almost no damage from any of her breath weapons. The trade-off on being Unstoppable has been a reduced amount of at-will powers... BUT, you can hit things faster.
I'm going to make up some numbers here... bear with me.
Let's assume that Sure Strike is doing 2,000 points of damage per swing. While Unstoppable, that damage has been reduced to 1,500 points of damage per swing, however, while Unstoppable, I swing twice as fast. So instead of doing 4,000 DPS, while Unstoppable, suddenly I'm doing 6,000 DPS.
If I am interpreting the notes correctly (and they are accurate), instead of doing an average of 6k DPS while Unstoppable, it will now be 8k DPS while Unstoppable. And this makes me happy.
And while we're on the subject of Sure Strike, I like that the "final strike increased by roughly 30%." The "final strike" is the fourth strike (it goes *swish swish swish THUMP*). With my Golden Dragon's Ferocity, that means my final strike will be an additional ~40% damage. Nice.
As someone who has actually tested Mod 6 content (as opposed to many who prefer to just give baseless speculation) I can confidently state that a good GWF will have the highest PVE DPS in the game--by a healthy margin.

GWF is a great class, and my favorite one (with my DC being a close second).
People read on the forums that GWFs suck because people will roll one up, and not figure out how to play it. that's one of the reasons Double XP weekends suck. Okay, great, they have a Level 60 GWF fighter now, sitting on 15k GS, but have NO clue how to use it.
Gear doesn't necessarily make a character strong. It's how you use the gear you have. Ever since WotC took over D&D and destroyed it, then Cryptic got ahold of D&D and destroyed it even more, it's a continuous "my HAMSTER is bigger than yours" contest with (until lately) GS, and in a few hours, it'll be with Item Score.
Whatever. Gone are the days of teamwork and collaboration and helping one another. It's all "what's in it for me?" stuff, and it's quite frankly disgusting to me.

My 21k gwf is certainly not maxed, yet he's much higher in gs than my 16k mage or my 15k TR, and already in Mod5 there is not one situation ingame where the gwf has it easier/quicker than the two alts.
Mod6 is not a mod with content, it's simply a mod where your current gear and stats are torn to shreds, and where Regen and LifeSteal will only exist from a theoretical point of view. The most affected class will be the gwf, who has no "quality type" mechanism to survive.

I don't know much about this game, diden't even know there was a new update todai :O
But i looked around alittle and it looks like people are saying that GWF is nerfed into the ground and is extremly far behind everyone else on damage,
My character that i've been playing is a GWF, soo should i just drop him and try something else?
or are people just talking BS?

GWF have been good in both pvp and pve, too many are just too lazy to try out the new game style so they complain that their obsolete style is "nerf". With every patch, some powers become optimal while others obsolete. It is up to the players to either choose to figure out and play in the new meta or whine about it.

That is really the only reduction on that chart. What about this:
"• Wicked Strike: No longer does reduced damage when hitting multiple targets."
That seems like a nice bump to me!

-Base Damage increased (Weapon + Encounters + At-Wills)
-Reduced Outgoing Damage from AOE hits has been largely removed.
-Better Temp HP
-Larger swings from Lifesteal (If you build into it like crit)
-Longer Buff Timers
-Increased Threat Gen
-Increased importance of Armor Pen in endgame
We lost AoW but I think these in combination with the endgame gear is going to be seriously wicked.
