Just hit them with something soft to diminish the shield before you hit them with the heavy hitters.
All they need to do is make sure that dots can't activate spell storm, and everything in the world will be balanced again. Assailing force has been nerfed twice, and everything else is fine.
If spell storm only activates on encounter spells + at-wills; then i don't believe it will be as devastating as it is now. It will also make CoI more relevant to activate spell storm (as i know a lot of CWs have dropped this since it's damage nerf + removal of capstone mitigation).

lol so many WhisperKnife bashers in this thread. Don't underestimate.
What if I told you that there a few WK's who have an unique build and can contest 1v3/1v4/1v5 ? (Speaking pug only here because I'm not a potion guzzler).
The secret is just to never come visible, ever. And you can achieve that with Saboteur and Stamina feats. You also have to stay completely ranged (While remaining on the node) so you don't risk getting CCed by getting close. Cloud of Steel and Disheartening Strike are perfect.
I've been running a perma WK (With smoke bomb as a 3rd encounter) since Dread Ring released and I've literally never had problems with any class, even the Burping GWF's from mod3.
lol so many WhisperKnife bashers in this thread. Don't underestimate.
Your WK died repeatedly to my CW in Module 3. Then you started to stay off point just to stay alive.
An MI would have destroyed my CW easily all this while. And no I was not potted, I never pot unless premade and adversary are potted.
By the way you shouldn't feel bad about you as a player. It is solely the weakness of WK that is not allowing you to properly deal with CC. No WK out there is able to play on point like an MI, and for off point range play CW ruled, and still rules, so why roll TR for ranged DPS?
Let me get this right, Are you saying and implying that, to you, a class-feature power dealing around 8M more damage than the SUM of ALL other skills used in the run is fine?? O__oUu
"8M more damage" - sure. As I said, the other powers aren't really "powers". The CW is using DoTs on purpose to proc Assailant and Storm Spell a lot. On my PvE setup, Storm Spell deals around 12% of my overall damage (P. Vorp., no DoTs, high Power). For comparison: it was 7% in the last Module. So yes, it's definitely buffed, plus, I have way more Power this Module. So it's buffed by more than 70%. Somewhere around 150 - 200%. Which would actually make sense.
You gotta understand: Storm Spell and Assailant do not scale with your stats. They always deal the same damage. If your Power is low enough, they will deal 99% of ALL your damage. Just try to run 0 Power and low INT.
From my point of view, the HRs and GWFs are still the strongest classes in PvP (in the right hands), while the CW can be decent in any hands. If you're a CW and you're so OP you can't take it anymore, challenge k4to (HR) or Thranduil (TR) from Chocolate Shoppe, or Deadshot (HR) or Marro (TR) from EoA, or any decent GWF from Absolute. You'll be very surprised at the outcome. There's a difference between a class being OP and a class being easy to play.
Powers of the "OP" CW and an instruction on how to beat them:
Eye of the Storm: Guaranteed crits for 6 seconds. After it's over, 20 seconds ICD. Know that in the beginning of a fight, a CW has it ready. Make sure you CC him or force him to move. You HAVE TO dodge Entangling Force. This power only matters at the start of a fight. After that, the CW will be in constant movement, so it won't matter much.
Shield: When the CW has a Shield (this shiny sphere-like thing around him), make sure you "touch" him with an At-Will first to destabilize it, or your first hit won't deal any damage. Now, if you're an HR, it might as well be Disruptive Shot.
Ray of Frost: Procs Storm Spell and Assailant like crazy. Gives you a Chill Stacks with every "tick". Freezes you at 6 Chill Stacks. You can see the Chill Stacks and the number on your debuff bar. All stacks are also refreshed immediately at 6.
Entangling Force: Death to anyone but GWF. Once you're caught in it, you can be frozen for a whole rotation. If this happens at the beginning of a fight and the CW has an Ice Knife, you're probably dead (because of Eye of the Storm), unless you're a GWF who can go Unstoppable. Once you're in Entangling Force, the CW will go full Ray of Frost on you. ~9 - 10 sec cooldown. Make sure to count it while fighting to know when the CW has it ready.
Icy Rays: Now, here's the deal. You can't dodge it. Unless you're CC-immune, there's nothing you can do about it. But it doesn't STUN you. So you can still attack. The deadly combo is Icy Rays + Entangling Force, since you won't be able to dodge it anymore. When a CW casts Icy Rays, he is rooted and kinda stunned himself for ~1 - 2 sec. The casting starts with a mark over your head and a *ding* sound. This is the moment to stun the CW, so he can't chain his Entangling Force (Disruptive Shot). Once you've done that, the CW's rotation is broken and you can **** him.
Chill Strike: Very easy to dodge due to the very long casting animation. It will only hit you when you're CC'ed.
Ice Knife: Extremely easy to dodge (long animation, *ding ding* sound way before the Ice Knife hits you).
Icy Terrain: Don't stay in it unless you wanna die. It's way smaller than a node, so there should be no problem avoiding it. If you are a GWF, you might have to move over it. Just know that it procs Assailant and has the same effect on you as Ray of Frost (freeze at 6 Chill Stacks). Don't walk over it without Unstoppable.
This is all you need to know. Never get in a CW's CC rotation. Make sure the CW loses his EotS in the beginning of the fight. If you're a GWF, spam your Unstoppable. If you're a TR who got caught right in the beginning, go ITC. "Touch" the CW once before attacking (3x in case of Barkshield). Always know if the CW has an Entangling Force ready (count his cooldown when you see him use it). He will not have enough time to freeze you just from the At-Will (you will be all over him before he can reach 6 stacks of Chill on you). If you hear Icy Rays being casted, CC the CW immediately. If successful, destroy him!
Now, for the GWF it's easier (if he has practice against CWs). Go Unstoppable as soon as possible, run to the CW, destroy him. He's still the old squishy, just a little bit more tanky due to the Shield. "Yes, but all the dodges…" Go practice. There is a moment between dodges where you can catch the CW. Threatening Rush 1 - 2 times before you Frontline to make him dodge. Frontline. Then destroy him. If you can't do that constantly and the CW is "slipping" away, take a CW from your guild and go practice getting him between his dodges with Frontline. Use the new Sprint in your advantage. When you are too far away and the CW is casting Ray of Frost on you, watch your Chill Stacks. You get frozen at 6. Start sprinting when you're at 5. Freeze avoided.
Gwf can't spam unstoppable anymore. Last time i checked, it was 50% hp lost for 8 seconds unstoppable. Determination gain is so slow you can't spam it. Unless the new senti bis builds allow it...
Not like it should've been a problem before...all you needed to do was prone and burst then kite. The problem were the unkitable gwf tanks. Unstoppable itself just needed for other classes to use their brain and alternate prone+burst and kiting. It was spammable only if the enemy was mindlessly spamming low damage on the gwf. But complaints about 'spammable' unstoppable went through the roof and it got double nerfed to nothingness. All it needed was to make it a % of total hp lost for determination. Devs went for a almost halved det gain AND a 40% reduction for dr on the whole class mechanic, with the exception of sentinels.
But again, if sentinels found a way to improve this...
the problem isnt really 1v1 power but how fast they can kill while keeping target cc'd if they get a jump on you and how it doesnt take much skill to blow ppl up
just make ss 100% proc with icd would reduce randomness of that skill aswell
Your WK died repeatedly to my CW in Module 3. Then you started to stay off point just to stay alive.

What's your in-game name? I can show you how a WK can contest just like an MI. Even against multiple people. We can play a few games and you'll see for yourself.
I agree the WK is probably the ****tiest paragon of all classes combined, but if you use it correctly it becomes very deadly. Like I said, the secret is to never come visible ever. How can people fight back against a ghost? Unless they know what they're doing and use automatic AOE's. But then dodge and smoke bomb are here to counter that.
The community in this will never change. "If it's not the norm, it's bad and good for garbage".
I don't know what is going on, but have you noticed how everything is dying so fast now, regardless of defensive stats? My GF has 40k HP, 47% DR, 26% deflec and 20% Tenacity and he can barely tank a node anymore. Not just CWs, but ranged HRs can easily drive me off of a node. 3 - 4 hits from them and I am in serious trouble. After last night I started missing the days of holding off a Mod 3 GWF in a prolonged melee scrap. Now, everything just melts. I can wreck things in a rotation, CWs still melt me after the patch, HRs can snipe you to death in 3 - 4 hits, I don't know what is going on. Fights last 10 seconds.
Everyone is building heavy dps spec, that's why everyone is dying realy fast.
everyone is dying really fast cause cw can kill 40k hp gwf about as fast as 20k hp sw in blues if they get a jump on them so there is no point in building tanky
everyone is dying really fast cause cw can kill 40k hp gwf about as fast as 20k hp sw in blues if they get a jump on them so there is no point in building tanky
Actually nobody is better equipped to handle a CW onslaught than GWF. An SW once caught is toast.
You gotta put pressure on the CW especially since you're one of the few classes that can effectively do that. Any time dodging is time they're not casting, and you're the only class they can't pin down.
Give over. There are huge numbers of cannon-breaking things in Neverwinter. It's not meant to be an accurate recreation of the PnP game, it's an MMO. Stop whining about something as trivial as perma stealth and enjoy being ridiculously OP while it lasts.
Considering it's a mmo, a bit of canon-breaking things is understandable. It would be more tolerable if the stealth ran out after 3 or 5 seconds when the rogue starts attacking. But perma-steath is just ridiculous.

Yes it's ridiculous that tr's damage was nerfed to the point where perma-stealth is their only viable option, and that even then any good player can break them out of it, wreck their rotation, and kill them with little challenge.
Yup. As much as i like semi-perma gameplay cause it requires skill to use it against skilled players (time perfectly ITC, dodge roll and stealth, try not being predictable when in stealth to avoid getting caught), i really think TRs need a pure DPS viable build/ path for PvP where they truly can sneak behind the enemy lines and TRULY nuke one target of their choice. With obvious shortcomings when it comes to stealth. Such DPS path should rely much more on dodging and "tanking" rather than pure stealth.
DCs also could enjoy perhaps a "combat cleric" path where they can sacrifice healing and survivability for some true DPS. Expecially considering some PvP achievements are double kills and triple kills...
However, right now CWs with shield on tab+ severe reaction+ glyphs+ spell storm seems to be the new "all-in-one" boogeyman in PvP.
everyone knows that trs had huge burst before the nerfs but at extreamly high cost
after a single rotation tr was done ,not to mention lb is easyest encounter to dodge.
cws have same burst but they can sustain theirs way longer
tr can be played only with huge hp,deflect or stealth ,hp,int
Considering it's a mmo, a bit of canon-breaking things is understandable. It would be more tolerable if the stealth ran out after 3 or 5 seconds when the rogue starts attacking. But perma-steath is just ridiculous.
The way stealth and the TR in general is designed in this game means that perma-stealth is necessary. In every other MMO I've played the stealth class had toggle stealth unaffected by incoming damage and viable abilities once stealth was broken, so it worked when any attacks broke stealth. In NW a TR out of stealth is crippled and defenceless.
I have no problem removing perma stealth but you'd have to redesign the TR from the ground up.

In fact, Dc's they can go dps specc, but they are all skilll shots, soo if u fail u deal 0 damage, but if u land ur encounters, then the target its probably dead...
hmm why are cw top in kills and mostly points every **** dominion, i guess its because they are balanced and it takes so much skill to roll your face on keyboard while getting kills
1v1 its ok for most classes, in teamfights its get ccd and die in 3 seconds no matter your gear
HR are clearly more OP then any other class. 3 of us got an HR down to 30% and within 2 seconds he was 100% HP against, just by casting thorn ward and some damage.
CWs are second or third or forth in the same place as GF and GWF, with TR comming close. DC needs love!
in my opinons
1: HR
2: GF/GWF/CW
3: TR (unless they are skilled, they are #1)
4: DC
I do not feel OP on my CW. Am I deadly? Yes. But only if I can afford attacking without being attacked. When it comes to 1v1 scenarios, geared and skilled PvP GWFs and HRs beat me. Do I have a chance beating them? Sure. Is it more than 50%? No.
I've been pugging for a while now, and I feel that PvP HRs are way more deadly than CWs. Again, this is not a post to bash your dreams. You can always message me in-game. I'm always up for some testing. If you are a CW who wants to see how other classes can beat you without you having a chance, message Marro (TR) or Deadshot (HR) from EoA.
To be quite fair, the leaderboard means absolutely nothing at the moment since people can easily "erase" a loss from their records .
Yes, but
1. you cannot go up on the leaderboard by cheating. You can only avoid going down when you lose. To go up, you have to beat people that are higher than you on the leaderboard. When other people beat you and you relog at the end, they still get the ELO bonus for beating you. So someone cheating the leaderboard doesn't affect others in going up. Being on page 1 still requires a lot of winning against good players.
I have talked with some friends on my guild, CW-players included, and most of them agreed that is really difficult to deal with CW-class right now... which, to me, seems really not balanced at all as a vast majority of players (not pugs) agree in this as they agree that HR-class is still OP... As a side note, i really find funny that only CW-players find "GWF really OP (even on the right hands)" when all other classes but DC-players sais just the opposite: "now is really easy to deal with GWF-class", this also tells me that something is not right here.
Second point is, basically, that a GWF-player doing PvP should do with a Plaguefire enchant, which means, DoT vs a CW... which means, more chanced to proc "Severe reaction"... if you add "Deep gash" into this operation... well, numbers talk by themselves.
I "practiced" (to be generous) a lot in test server with all my chars, but, the most with my GWFs. A 16k full grim sentinel SM destroyer GWF (r7 enchants on gear, 2 normal terror on weapon and knot, N bark on chest, PF on weapon, 3 blue artifacts and full Sharandar and DR boom'ed but not PvP rings set... yet) could not fight vs ANY CW... and we are talking pre Assiliant Force nerf... but this is an easy example of what i showed on some videos i recorded some time ago (not with the char i explained, due i wanted to show more things, so i opted to use another GWF of mine). I.V. path has bit more chances to kill a CW but, most of time, TR misses due rubberbanding and lag... anyway, what i were saying is this: i "practiced" a lot on test server vs CW-players but, again, something must be wrong in both sides when, first, all GWF-players i have met there, myself included, agree that, right now, the class is a real mess and need a lot of "love" to be up again but only CW-players sais the opposite AND, second, all other player-classes say that CW-class is OP on a "balance mod" but, the only ones denying this are the CW-players community itself and alone.
I will first say that at least you try to justify you points with data, but you rely far too heavily on it. Meldan's points are almost entirely on the mark. I have faced him in PVP and I can say that he is very good, and he can easily destroy CWs in seconds. @meldan, cheers to mixing things up with a life drinker enchant, something only someone who is at the top of the curve in adapting to changes would do.
@cloyko, you remind me of a used car salesman. What you say with regards to data and tests is probably true and accurate in the given circumstances. But all data is subjective, and small scale data is only accurate within the sandbox you place it in. Taken out of that sandbox, your statements are misleading and by and large flatly bull-sht. Do not expect anyone with common sense or experience to take you seriously.
Rather than say "my opinion is", or "my experience has been". Instead, you back your statements up with "the cw community" or "All the GWFs I have talked to". Are you trying to tell me that you have discussed M4 with every CW and GWF and played against them? If not then STFU.
With regards to why you might be having trouble with CWs, its clearly because you SUCK with sprint. You don't use sprint well and therefore you want a buff back to the 1 button get out of jail free card that unstoppable has always been. My GWF, personally, can twitch sprint 7 times back to back. In combat and doing other things it's more like 10 times. It doesn't really matter if a CW has INFINITE stamina, they cannot attack and dodge at the same time, any time they attack there is a vulnerability window. Well played, a GWF can infinitely gap close with sprint + Threatening rush. You probably also suck at landing any attack other than FLS, roar, or TR, and the follow-up that come with those abilities. My suggestion is L2P, and stop relying on dated abilities and tactics.
Bottom line, M4 CW has a low skill cap. The damage + CC is too powerful vs classes with no CC breaks or relative toughness. Coming from a GF, HR, or DC, complaints about CW have weight in terms of mechanics. Coming from a GWF or TR there is no weight. If anyone wants to complain about how EASY it is for a CW to put out a lot of CC + damage, that is valid, an is what needs to be balanced.
about sprint - not everybody has 50 ping many ppl play with 200+ cause of location
but gwf is really well equipped to deal with cw not all classes are so lucky and the most frustrating thing is not 1v1 them but if one gets any cc on you, unless the cw is REALLY bad/undergeared you will be dead before having a chance to do anything if you cant break cc

LOL oh boy. Nah all anyone has to do is read the thread about what not to do when the perma tr is at your home point.
It's not game breaking, it's game making. It introduces a layer of strategy. I like playing games with good permas, it makes them much more complex.
Yes it's ridiculous that tr's damage was nerfed to the point where perma-stealth is their only viable option, and that even then any good player can break them out of it, wreck their rotation, and kill them with little challenge.
DCs also could enjoy perhaps a "combat cleric" path where they can sacrifice healing and survivability for some true DPS. Expecially considering some PvP achievements are double kills and triple kills...
However, right now CWs with shield on tab+ severe reaction+ glyphs+ spell storm seems to be the new "all-in-one" boogeyman in PvP.
after a single rotation tr was done ,not to mention lb is easyest encounter to dodge.
cws have same burst but they can sustain theirs way longer
tr can be played only with huge hp,deflect or stealth ,hp,int
I have no problem removing perma stealth but you'd have to redesign the TR from the ground up.
Aelar Hawkwind - Archer
Karrin Feywinter - Mistress of Flame
Errin Duskwalker - Executioner
Darquess - Soulbinder
In fact, Dc's they can go dps specc, but they are all skilll shots, soo if u fail u deal 0 damage, but if u land ur encounters, then the target its probably dead...
1v1 its ok for most classes, in teamfights its get ccd and die in 3 seconds no matter your gear
Anyway, it's just one opinion out of many.
P.S.: First place in Leaderboard is an HR.
If anyone wants to complain about how EASY it is for a CW to put out a lot of CC + damage, that is valid, an is what needs to be balanced.
but gwf is really well equipped to deal with cw not all classes are so lucky and the most frustrating thing is not 1v1 them but if one gets any cc on you, unless the cw is REALLY bad/undergeared you will be dead before having a chance to do anything if you cant break cc
