So are they actually going to be able to switch on the fly between blades and a bow?

If I had to guess, I would say there will be At-wills, Encounters and Dailies which you can slot, some of which cause a melee animation (and use equipped melee weapons in your primary/off hand), and some powers which are "ranged" in theme (and likely are "fixed" damage, and do not actually use equipped weapons).

Think about all the daggers rogues throw (Cloud of Steel, Blitz, etc) which don't rely on equipped weapons. I am guessing that was the fastest/easiest way to implement "Bows" (as non-equipable "powers", rather than as equipment).

    > Has a bow.
    > Runs to the middle of the road in clear view and shoots an enemy down.

Why?! Seems like someone doesn't get the basics of being an ranged class e.g shoot from cover where they can't see you so you can easily get your kills done :(

Kinda meh-y that we have to find out about this from others though.

In an interesting twist, the Great Weapon Fighter and Guardian Fighter will gain access to each other's Paragon paths following the module's release — meaning both classes can choose from the Swordmaster and Iron Vanguard Paragon options.

"We wanted to cross-pollinate those two," Velasquez said. "That's always been the intention for us, but we couldn't just offer that for the two fighters, because then the three other classes would have felt pretty bummed about it."

Paragon Paths are just one mechanic that's getting overhauled. Players will manage their Enchantments through a new, far less confusing interface. A player's slotted Companions will bestow different bonuses on their heroes, even when they're not active. Collection-focused players will have access to an in-game catalog showing which epic equipment, companions and other rare items they still need to acquire.

Whoah! Does that mean GWFs will be able buy Shields and GF's Greatswords?

Aren't Paragon paths are just the 3 paragon class abilities and 1 at-will, 1 encounter, and 1 daily? Because if it includes the feat trees then many of those would be useless to the other class since they refer to abilities outside of the Paragoth path.

I'm guessing Valindra will be making in appearance or 2 since the module is named after here.

The feat trees will probably be similar but specific to each class.

Yes. It means GWFs can be Iron Vanguards and GFs can be Swordmasters. That's not much of a spoiler as I think it's been revealed through datamining for ages.

After release, there were hints of the new Paragons from the test servers. On the CW forums, they included references to completely new mechanics, like "Smolder", that, like existing mechanics e.g. Chill, could not really exist without feat support.

So, it is likely there will be new Paragons Feats with the new Paragons.

    Also,

    1. I am not too sure how happy I am about having GF, which is finally in a reasonably good shape, being balanced around GWF Powers - which devs have never been able to show even a tiny bit the intent behind the class and which get changed around often since closed beta.

    2. Would not these Powers have some synergy between the class-defining mechanics, like Guarding and Unstoppable which are very different from each other? That could raise issues while "merging"...

So what we have got here are

    1. DCs can go group buffer class
    2. GFs can become swordsmen
    3. GWFs can become more tanky
    4. CWs can be fire wizards
Then is this the multi-classing thing some people have been waiting for?

I suppose the new paragon's of GF and GWF could be seen as similar to multiclass between those two, but not exactly. However the others were different options for that one class alone.

Huh Conqueror GWF without Guard bar? How's that going to work? And the encounter specific feats

They obviously won't have a guard bar, unless it replaces their current bar. What is more likely is that the intent of the paragon paths with be the same as that of the GF paragons, with mechanics altered to fit those of the GWF.

Anyone else catch this bit in there: Companions will bestow different bonuses on their heroes, even when they're not active.
That could be very interesting and finally a reason to buy Idle slots.

Actually since it says slotted, it likely is a reason to buy active slots.

Ppl are misunderstanding the meaning of new paragon path here. Paragon path consists 1 daily, 1 encounter, 1 at-will and 3 class features. The current Paragon FEAT trees will be reworked to work with both paragon paths but no new feat trees will be added.

Edit: Boo, I was hoping for the scourge warlock to be first of the new class releases :( Oh well, few more months to wait.
