Lag wouldn't kill them, they are in the building or near it that the servers are, they would effect be like doing a LAN (not really, but they would have zero node latency to contend with. they also could live stream it and "play", but they could also create a character and insert it with BIS etc. so it looks like easy breezy.
If they play on live - this wouldn't be true: C is in California, servers are in Boston. Though it'd be way less, due to being routed with priority, I suppose.
But IMHO, while the network lag IS bad, the servers themselves seem to be ... erm ... challenged - and they'd supposedly reserve themselves a server for that...
Where are the dungeons? Old, new, anything. Instead they give us polished turds aka another Astral seal/prism lagfest and a skirmish with variance....yey a skirmish woooo hooo. Oh and I especially love how they recycle content by putting the new encounters in old zones. Absolutely hackworthy. Talk about phoning it in, thye better hope WoTC doesn't actually play their game. Oh I'll gladly eat my words if they unveil actual dungeons in a dev diary, but if I had to guess, we just saw the extent of it with the HAMSTER skirmish and new boss fight.

* Complete disregard for PvP over long stretches - with suddenly making it a requirement for PvE SH progress, when it's been all but dead and grossly wrecked.
I think this is a case of a bugged display. It looks like you shouldn't be able to get to stronghold level 3 without building a PVP tower, but my guild was able to just fine (on a Lumberyard, a Marketplace, and a Farm, so maybe the Guild Hall also counts?) and we're saving up for level 4 now.
Outside of PVP-relevant buildings, you need PVP currency to build one thing: the Barracks. And those are some nice boosts, I'm not going to lie, but that's one boon alternative, not a requirement for progress.

The Guild Hall is just another Stronghold building. It counts for the requirements. You shouldn't ever HAVE to build a PvP building if you don't want to.

Well, SH says the opposite as you need conqueror shards to upgrade your barracks... but nice try

You don't need a PvP building. You may need to collect PvP currency, but you don't need to build any towers. We're almost up to Rank 10, with zero towers built...

It would be quite possible to do elol at 1600.. its how you get that I level # that counts.. alot of I level #s are generated with things with little in game value (I have several toons slotted with hoards on utilities.. just so I can get random stones.. they have almost zero value for in game DDs though and account for a couple hundred total i level.. People from my guild already proved this for t2s.. They run etos with 2k i level.. you can clearly see what has value and what doesnt.
See? I could remove all of those and have the same exact ability , Darks are nice for speed, but at 400 to 1 it again offers only a small benefit.. remove them all..
Pants/Shirt almost 300 I level, not bad stats or anything.. but you can remove those.
You can easily remove 5-600 or more I level and HAVE almost no impact on your game play.
The problem really arises when people eek out whatever little I level they can with wrong stats and builds, throw on a lesser random whatever enchant and expect to accomplish something in game. When you remove the same 4-500 I levels from them.. you are really having people in the 1.2k or so range trying to finish something.
Thats not the devs issue, that's a player issue. You can only gate so much.

It's not the point. The point is, pve guilds and players will have to do some pvp to get conqueror shards to be able to build the barracks... So you do need to pvp to upgrade your "pve" SH as the barracks give one "if not" the best boons (xp,power, incoming healings)...
The devs should do some live streaming to prove that they really do play (and can) play the game. Other games have it all the time.
I'd like to see them do eLOL with characters at 1600 ilvl, or how they'd comment on how the lag kills them all.
LOL ya that would be good for a laugh, as its impossible period , even most chars all the way up to 2500 can not do it, lets see them take it level 2000 into ecc an complete it or tos lol not gonna happen, ya the game should be difficult , but unrealistic as to what you need to have a fighting chance is a whole different story. Fact is players new to the game will see what it now takes to get to what ya need and its all money. Now if it becomes zen to get to next gear, to me this game is not something worth my time, the changes have made it cost enough already and for me the content is not good enough to warrant spending more. Far to many in game issues not address or i guess for those of like me who have been around since it basically started an supported the game all i have seen for the past at least three mods is ways to take money. Doing the same dailies for how long now and the way the ad gains are set, even if they ad a few to some quests, its suppose to be about choice to support the game and by the looks of things as it progresses it is no long f2p as you can not progress to where you can actually compete in all game content without putting out loads of cash and from the experience of being here for so long, for me and i am sure for many who are here saying the same as me, to much is wrong with the game with far to little reward to warrant more spending. Things like pvp totally unfair, it level supposedly needed for doing content are not even close to whats needed, Siege isnt even worth trying to do, for the most part many guilds are closing down or being absorbed by another in hopes of trying to build an get to where they can get needed gear / boons to even try to compete, but many are seeing its an never ending grind to getting almost no where. Could go on an on, an such a shame for a game i once really looked forward to.
Agree 100%

Here is the etos link enjoy.. do you really think elol would be any different? 2k etos run
silverkeltMember, NW M9 PlaytestPosts: 4,235Arc User
which is why you missed the thread apparently EXPLAINING exactly that.
MOST people get to entry level I level and think they can finish everything in game.. you cannot, which was the whole point of the thread.
Most of us explained over and over again.. its not the i level, its how you build yourself. when you subtract i level gear that has NO real value, you will get down to the level you truly are. Right now most toons in basic progression will not be finishing most t2s until around 2.4 i level or so. But you definitely do not need much more then that to do them. Any group in the 2.5k range should have no issue with any of the t2s, if you just have the basic, healer, tank, 3 dps mode groups.
You cannot simply get to 2k i level and finish everything in game, when 2-3-400 of that is just enchants and stats that have no intrinsic value to your class.
People are complaining that ELOL is too hard.. !!!!!!!!!
We explained over and over about how to get past scorps and all we here is the same complaints.. even in a weaker group.. or no heals/tanks.. JUST kite one of them!
There are ways to finish these things.. you simply cant make them any easier then they are.. and NO you do not need mythics or legendaries, or bis or anything to do them.
'I can't do it, so other people who've done it must be lying'. Stop it. Just stop it now. You're making a fool of yourself. I've made multiple video's of 2k Item level parties doing the content. We've done ECC with and without Paladins. We've done EGWD at the same item level. For crying out load, we've written guides on it.
I'm done with being diplomatic about it. If you can't do it, if you claim it's impossible, you're just plain bad and should feel bad. Go sit in the corner with all the other window-lickers.

2k is mostly a stretch. 2.2-2.4, a build has it's vital parts covered and can get things done. Only with a good party that has a clue what to do though.

Yeah, isaac, you should have linked our no pally eCC and seen the fake ilvl complaints there, even though we didn't take gear off and stuff like that On the subject of elol though, I can solo the whole dungeon on my 2.5k ilvl CW and I am pretty sure other players can as well. Furthermore, lazalia has soloed etos, so players complaining about dungeon difficulty should really do a skill check and make sure that their ilvl actually reflects their gear (no 4k chars with 50k deflect, for example).
Only with a good party that has a clue what to do though.
We have a winner, ladies and gentlemen.
Ghoulz and I don't agree on a lot of things but I think he or she has hit the nail on the head, here. Having a clue what to do means learning the fight and analyzing it. 'Knowing what to do' doesn't magicly show up at an Item Level of 3k. Honestly, it doesn't. Yes, higher Item Levels can generally just use brute force - they can stand in red because their HP and Defense are through the roof, but they aren't - really, I promise - necessary.

Really a pointless debate, sorta like a "is it worth it thread" I know of folks who left WoW, DDO, Asherons call, and FFXI al those games are still going. For me I still enjoy the game if I had more time I would enjoy it more I think
With all the paywalls, nerfs and stripping out of reward and content..and simple blatant abuse of players self respect. How much longer would you say the game has left in it? Its really sad the game was fun its a great game yet the rate of player population leaving and the massive paywalls and cash grabs, i kind of worry if the game has any future.
As a customer who purchased $100.00 in Zen to participate in a 3 Companions Account-Wide Promotion in which I was cheated, I will never give this game another US dollar. I've spent hundreds happily until that insulting rip off.
If it dies, it dies. Until then I will ride it for free until the wheels fall off.

exactly that. only spent same amount of zen gotten through zax. and also already left the game cause it was not the first time they did that thing with the account bound companions they did it before more times. first ones were forgiven. but not any more.

I feel the same way when they made all my purchases worthless when mode 6 came out. Nothing from me for NWO or STO. When all there out to do is ripe you off with the next update, nerfing so they can add tougher stuff to grind to death. And the Zen market is right back up there were it was before all there ?

...whatever and how much ever life had been left has been seriously quenched by the new layer of infiniGrind(tm) that's been added. This is in no way bettered by making the boons with which persistent repetition is rewarded that fat, the game already power-crept out of control again. I have little to no hope that this will be ameliorated by Mod 8b.
Unless some bright idea hits soon(tm) we're headed straight for the palliative care ward.
Sure, it'll be kept running for quite some while, measured in years, but the apparent total lack of innovation - be that a novel PvP contest/league, a new adventuring mode, or a boost to the foundry, or even the relaunch of the old dungeaons (though "innovation" wouldn't be the appropriate term here) - makes the whole game an endless same-ol'-same-ol' grind-o-rama...
TL;DR: Fun------------------------x-Grind => slow death
