You may not see it in your player data base because i'm sure it shows a lot hard core players are still trying to play this game trying to have fun and not die every 5-10 min. but if you don't fix the "overall difficulty" the player base will hit you when you least expect it. most have 1 foot out the door looking for a better game to play, have fun, not get nerfed, not die.
That game may be closed beta right now and may soon be opening the doors to open beta or free to play in the next few weeks and in the middle of the night POOF... like a dream more like a nightmare developers will come to work in the morning sit at their computers and scratch their heads wondering where everyone went. while they were sleeping they didn't do anything during the night. where did everyone go.
It's because players have 1 foot out the door looking and waiting for a better game.
Somehow true. I have the feeling because of the diffuículty to get better gear harder and the difficulty spiked up, more player feel encouraged. Strange
Edit: Can we please bann GIFs out of the Forum. kolatmasters gif distracts me a lot. *such a magnificent actor*
Platypus wielding a giant hammer, your argument is invalild!
PS: Kata, remove the HTML code from your sig. It's blocked. BBcode works properly now.
lol, thanks for letting me know, didn't know that they fixed the BBcode tag. Although HTML is way way better than BBcode... but then again, I've handwritten quite a few websites so... HTML is a natural thing for me :P
You know... I hear the same thing about STO every once in a while.
That and Klingon players complaining about Fed Players getting all the shiny toys.
Hello Neverwinter! I bring greetings from your fellow Cryptic game players in STO!
Ok not really. I just wanted to see what was going on over here.
I was talking about others games that may be in closed beta right now and may be going open, or other games that may be going free to play, you cant mention other games here, but if someday developers see the player base has gone down it may be because that a better, easier, non pay to win, death simulator such as Neverwinter has opened up, not that the developers did something stupid with the nerfing and difficulty just players were waiting for something better.
Can u recommend better mmo:s for me. I think i had enough of this one. Neverwinter is too bugged and way too hard for solo play. Ok, maybe it would help if i joined a clan but... I don't know, this ain't fun.
And if u think PC version is bugged try xbox version, it's even worse.

My Guild had never been more active, so I'd have to disagree with the OP's premise. Though that's just my experience... *shrug*
Same. And the previews of Strongholds has gotten a lot of former players excited about coming back.
But this wouldn't be the Neverwinter forums I know and love if a new "Everyone is quitting" thread didn't pop up each week. If I had the time, I'd love to go back through the forums and catalog a greatest hits version of all these posts.
Because according to random forum guy #102813, this game is still in beta and is dying. It'll be dead in a week. Stone dead in a minute actually. And don't even think about going for a walk...

Gaming Community Rule Number One - There's a new chicken little every day.
Does it mean there wasn't a spark of truth to the reasoning? No.
Many times these threads would be perfectly valid feedback if they just said 'players don't care for this, that and the other thing and want them improved' without the 'or else the game is going to die.'

And that's exactly it. Saying "This game is hard, everyone's leaving..." doesn't do much, hyperbole aside.
However to that point, I feel like they could re-examine certain parts, particularly the campaign content.
In my mind, the daily quests related to campaigns should all be soloable.
Tyranny of Dragons should be tuned so that a character 60-70 (and 61+ boosted to 70) can complete the quests. If that means the Well of Dragons is "easy" for characters, that's fine. It's a story that starts at level 24 and people shouldn't hit a brick wall midway through.
Sharandar and Dread Ring should be tough for boosted characters (sub level 70) but doable. Level 70 characters should feel comfortable here, but things should still be deadly if overwhelmed.
Icewind Dale should be toned back a bit, too. At least the daily quests need to be soloable, and the small heroics should be tuned to be tough, but doable by a single toon. Keep the medium and large heroics hard, but spawn more of them and less small ones. But again, dailies here should challenge a solo 70, and require that they're making progress on level 70 gear, but not impossible.
As for dungeons, T1's are fine. T2's are good, but the bosses could probably use a reduction in health by about 20-30% (the fight mechanics are well tuned, they just drag on too long, particularly eGWD).
Those are some specific steps that could be taken to help dial in the feel of the game a bit more.
Problem is that i can solo WoD with paladin level 60 gs under 1k easy. Just did cult prison solo, no problem.
But when i try WoD with level 70 CW gs 1.6k i cant beat anyone... not a single encounter.
So why i don't play with paladin then? It is certain they are gonna nerf paladins big time sooner or later, probably sooner. So i'll end up in same situation as CW.

I want to say that CA has gained about 100 new members, or maybe more, since M6 took effect. We consistently have 7 to 15 members on at a time.
I used to die every 5 to 10 minutes... that was about 4 weeks ago. The last toon, in my stable, to die that frequently was my CW. While he was leveling from 60 to 70. Now that he is 70 and getting geared... he is much more durable.
Atwil "At" - Tiefling TR / Saardush - Black Dragonborn GWF / White - Tiefling OP
The thing that has been driving me away form this game, ironically isn't the game istelf, it's the community.
I've seen the community become more and more toxic and it's what makes me want to do something else.
...I'll stop complaining when there are at least two trees each of HR and SW that can solo the solo stuff without campfire trips every other minute. And for SW that additionally means - without relying on borked stuff.
I readily admit that the melee classes have little trouble once they're decked out in all 70 rares or better, provided they have all five artifact slots filled, and refined those up to at least blue or better purple ranks. And preferrably at least R7 enchantments. CW can do most, with a non-final feating as Oppressor. DC... ...well, can survive a lot, but kill little by little, only. Or, again, spec Righteous.
But all that neither helps nor helps explain or witticise away the decrease in server population. Nor the bugfest.

It's amazing what can happen as one learns and adapts, is it not?
i think the problem is huge for the real new players, who stttr an alt right now will have at least 4/6 months of warm-up just to have 2k ils that is considered the base for a good T1 team.
We've had new kids join since the beginning of Mod 6, and with a Guild that assists new people it can be done a wee bit faster than that!
I'll admit I haven't done so much... tactical repositioning... since beta. The survivability of my OP at 60+, but sub 70, with 60-65 rare gear while up-leveled to 70 in various instances was at least triple that of my 70 SW or DC with rare 70s and all blue artifact gear.
Cryptic will likely just break the functionality of the OP so it will be in line with the other classes and call it good.

Unrepentant can have a fresh 70 running T1's minutes after hitting 70, and comfortable with the content in less than a week.
If it takes you 4-6 months to "warm-up" you're doing it wrong.
Too bad they banned large guilds this week, so all those returning members coming back to say hi to their old guild buddies are on their own since they won't be able to get back into their guilds.
