What in this game drives you crazy more than anything?

Probably have been many threads like this before but as content changes it can result in a lot of fun answers. What in the game do you hate more than anything? What makes you want to scream at the screen? And I do not mean bugs, or the game itself. This is meant to be light hearted and fun. For me, I HATE Redcap Witherers. I mostly play a paladin and there I am just about to blast of Divine Justice and nope, action points are gone and I know that little bugger is laughing at me. It drives me crazy.

So what monsters or traps or other such things drive you crazy? And make sure you keep is fun! :D

Biggest monster in the game.... Lag Monster. kills me more than anything else.

followed by RNGeezus. that particular monster is very frustrating. just when i feel like i don't want to play with it anymore it drops something useful and keeps me coming back for more.

That's actually the Powries that take your action points. The witherers are the healers and THEY are the ones that have me cursing at the screen, but only if I'm playing a tank. they can instantly heal a boss or a tougher mob all the way up from nothing if you forget they're there or fail to notice them. My kill order in Sharandar because of that is Powries>Witherers>Everything else.

Any sort of lag/latency issues just drive me batty - I'm also including issues like when I hit shift to block on my GFs or OPs, and the game doesn't register.

Another issue that bugs me is when either attacks/hazards don't display, (Lostmauth inviso-fireballs), or when certain enemy's attacks aren't properly reflected by the "red area" on the ground, (Lizardfolk Trapper net attack).

White Dragonwings.
Im playing GWF which is the base model used for the White Dragonwings.
They have a Spinning Strike funnily pushes me around even when im in Unstoppable, however my Spinning Strike doesn't bother him at all.
Even tho I have a close to BiS GWF and I have a super min/max char overall and im a MOTHER****ING HERO OF NEVERWINTER!
These freaking Dragonwings push me around like im nothing.
I USE THE SAME ATTACK ON THEM THEY DON'T EVEN CARE! AAAAAGH
Spinning Strike sucks pretty much this mod and you may actually just die while casting it as of now. For me Weaponmaster Strike spam actually does more damage than casting my very best AoE Daily (Spinning Strike).

Oh well. At least I can use Hidden Daggers into Crescendo from range to just one-shot them. Still tho.... Dragonwings...burning eternal hatred!

PS: Did I mention White Dragonwings Spinning Strike also casts Iceshards that freeze people?

Yup, ignore the big stuff and nuke the little ones first. Miss a witherer and the length of your fight just doubled.

I'd say what drives me craziest is humanoid mobs' healing potion animation. If you're playing a character that can't quite squeak in the kill before it finishes, they heal pretty much to full, potentially to the tune of a few hundred thousand HPs. These heal animations used to be interruptible, but it seems like that doesn't work anymore except in the case of an immobilize or prone. You, on the other hand, are stuck with a 10k heal from a potion. At least mobs can't spam potions any faster than we can in combat....

They also have a relatively long 'casting time'. It is not as interruptible as it used to be. My dire wolf did its thing and on multiple occasions it failed to stop HP gain.

What annoys me are those dragon cultist tank guys. Their shield renders them invincible like the old GF block, with a wider arc then the GF shield, and is effectively infinite as far as I can tell for keeping it up. It doesn't seem to run on any conventional block or stamina meter. It isn't a problem, per se, but it is just annoying that GFs' block was nerfed way back when, but the enemies still benefit from what the devs determined was a broken/unfair mechanic.

Powries and Witherers, back in pre-mod6 days, just felt like something a dev put in because he/she/it had a gripe with the player base and wanted to be as annoying as possible. Take all APs, heal a boss from near nothing to full. That's a design of a major jerk, needling and nickle and dimeing you to death. In Mod6 it now amount to pure sadism.

Circle behind them - they are vulnerable if attacked from the rear.

Not what I was getting at, as I am aware of that. I'm just annoyed that they get to keep invincible block.

I actually thought they were interesting mechanics that "punished" you for not paying attention, since it was pretty easy to AoE one-shot the little bastiches at the time. Occasionally I'd use my daily somewhat suboptimally just out of spite, knowing a powrie somewhere out of range was going to get me otherwise.

Witherers and powries are definitely tricksier now simply because they take longer to kill, which gives them more time to actually do their thing. At my gear level, anyway.

Yeah, this is more of an "and why can't I do that?" gripe than a complaint that they're hard to deal with. As someone said recently, it's very fortunate that their perma-block is the only thing they have going for them, because if they actually used it intelligently... yow.

Ah, gotcha. Personally, I find the White Dragonwings much more frustrating to deal with, though. You can't expect NPC powers to always be in parity w/ player ones...

My big sore spot - the Master Alchemist. In mod 5 soloing him with my archer felt like a huge accomplishment. I really haven't played much WoD in mod 6 because of the horrific level to which HR's defenses were gutted, but I can't imagine he's gotten any easier. Heh.

If it's any consolation, this is the only solo PvE fight where my destroyer GWF can die. I don't think there's any shame in finding it hard.... Multiple little DoTing and debuffing drakes pop up all over the screen so you can't take them out efficiently, big drakes interrupt everything you try to do, the floor is lava, and the boss is very fast and hits hard... and all of that happens basically at the same time.

I am glad that a lot of the mobs have this going on, if the use of a lot of powers was done intelligently, they would be a lot worse then they are. Most of them coordinate and use their abilities as effectively as a random newbie PUG queue.

White Dragonwings... oh, right the spinning guys that throw frost balls at you that freeze you solid. Yeah these guys are frustrating. The problem is that the NPC powers could be in parity, except they use a bit more excessive NPC powers to cover up holes in their rather poor AI.

For player behavior, I'd say that something like 0.05% of GFs know how to not spin a dragon. I fought Merothrax quite a few times this past weekend to get the weekly quest done and the only times he didn't spin were when either my husband or I was tanking.

I'm sure it's because all the decent players were in IWD....

My other least favorite combo is pairs of Green Dragonwings. I am frequently mocked in my very own household for my "No! NO! AH YOU B@ST@RD!" and "YOU GO SQUISH NOW!! NOW!! YAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHHA DIE!!" noises that result from fighting that combo in both Ghost Stories and Protect the Portal.

Spinning a dragon is what happens when you have aggro and run away from the bitey end of the dragon, causing it to chase you in circles, and turning its tail-slap attack onto your allies so they spend more time dodging than doing their jobs.

If you can't actually stand in the dragon's breath weapon, all you need to do is step right-then-left instead of always right, and the dragon will pivot within a limited angle instead of spin in circles, meaning your allies can hold their positions more effectively and the fight doesn't turn into a hot mess. Keeps the tail slap predictable and keeps breath weapons in a contained area.

OPs and GFs that are using powers that generate tons of threat but refuse to actually facetank the beasts particularly rub me the wrong way. Do not run around poking the dragon in the HAMSTER!

My GF uses Supremacy of Steel with Steel Defense, along with several other sources of reflect damage. Standing with my shield up in the path of a dragon's breath weapon is where most of my dps comes from.
