The initial rework on TR was a failure, its all messed up thats why its causing 14k pugs one shotting 22k player now we see.
Sab tree: shld be the one remain in stealth but moderate dmg,
Scoundrel: shld be like a combat rogue type with all the cc and bit of dmg,
Exe tree: shld have all the dmging aspect to really "lives up to its name" quoted by gentleman crush on twitter.
What needs to change is rework the sab tree, nerf the dmg overall, take away piercing even so this tree has all the untility it requires to remain in the shadow, holding a node etc. Scoundrel tree right now its pretty much the only rework thats done correctly.
But this stealth reveal will not be a good way as it stand TRs have vitually no reliable form of defense out of stealth if not built for it, it will not only making 2 out of 3 trees useless, also ranged TR will not be viable at all. a few feats will have no meaning if the opponent can see you for 2 seconds.
Rework sab tree, adjusting TR overall dmg, adjust crit chance BEFORE CONSIDERING ANY FURTHER STEALTH MACHANIC CHANGE.

l2p (**** could not resist, TRs will have to focus on other things than power and recharge speed). Rly, even the current dodge mechanic is powerful enough for TRs. Also i think the reveal "feature" wont hurt as much as ppl may think for the note reads "be revealed for the one hitted" and twill still be barely 2 secs ("Stealth: Striking a player while you are stealthed will temporarily reveal you to the target you strike. This reveal lasts 2 seconds." to be precise).
Although i have to say that i play sometimes only "WK scoundrel" alt. Its disgusting how powerful it is with mishmash equip at ~13k GS.

The proposed changes are good. The biggest problem with PvP is people are not willing to learn how to catch TRs and think there is no way to fight back. Ultimately TRs are overpowered though, and the stealth nerf helps bring it back into line while solving this old problem of people not understanding how to fight TRs.
I know non-TR players have always hated TR mechanics, but the bottom line is you are going to need to live with equally geared TRs being able to match you if you want a balanced game. You cannot take away damage and stealth, we need one or the other. Last mod we had stealth without damage, so now they are giving you damage without stealth. You cant strip the TR bare though, it does need to still be able to fight back no matter how much you dislike someone with "stealth" mechanics being able to match in a 1v1.
I just wished people would be honest with what they want - and first pinpoint what they dislike about TR's / TR game play
For example the WK Sab you moan about - have limited speed increase (10% when in stealth if picked), no ITC, low deflect, low defence in general, and generally easy to kill out of stealth. So why are you all lumping each tree of TR together? From reading this post what comes across is you want TR's to lose their tab feat, lose their damage, lose their dazes, lose their movement, lose their rolls - basically just stand around in PVP until you feel like killing them.
When Devs were testing new TR build the response from pretty much all TR players at that time was - please give us more survival out of stealth. What they got was more damage when in stealth.
I don't know about top end PVP but I do know there are a lot of TR's doing the daily PVP, and I do know that two of these trees will now with these changes just sit at the camp fire, because they will just be cannon fodder and visible due to someone else's actions. (and how does the TR know who can see them and who cant?) So please go ahead, make changes, make TR's visible to all, and enjoy your non BIS PVP games being ruined by people sitting at camp fires. The BIS TR will just be all one type - well for that matter any serious PVP TR will be, so be happy being dazed.
I just don't get it - the only real sense I hear here is the person suggesting that all classes need a balance in PVP, and that's the truth. CW's that stand upon platforms one shot killing other classes that have no chance to fight back, with lots of damage given out by feat that requires no real action / skill upon players part. DC's that un heal any and all damage, same for HR's. GWF that are probably the most honest class, but can outrun just about anything making them a mockery.

Do I think TR's need looking at in PVP - yes I do, but breaking them completely is not the answer. You want to take stealth away from them, fine. But give them some survival out of stealth - give them some immune to stuns/freeze ect. You want them visible to the person they attack for 2 seconds. Ok, but why are all TR's visible - this make no sense and completely voids any TR's tactics. And please don't start quoting ITC, unless you are going to give it to all TR trees.
I don't know how honest this poll is - but assuming 50% are TR's voting this still shows that the other 50% have no real consensus upon how they think TR are OP, or need adjusting.

Well, other than the fact that this stealth nerf doesn't even affect PvE in the slightest, there's nothing else that needs to be done other than a little toning down of crit severity.
Permastealth is, honestly, best if it had mod4 levels of damage. They can live forever and attack from stealth, but nearly no damage. Kind of like a permablock GF.
In my opinion perma-stealth is bad for the game. Fighting someone you cant see most of the fight is boring as hell. Running around on a point trying to find someone is also boring and the fight is one-sided. At least as a CW. Its really annoying that we need to slot stealtime/icy terrain to even have the smallest chance against a TR.
In mod4 at least we had a chance against a TR because they didn't have both damage and stealth but in mod5 the fight is over in just a few seconds most of the time and there is no time to fight back.
So perma-stealth needs to be gone and if TR dies to fast out of stealth they needs some buffs in surviving outside the stealth. The damage needs a nerf too ofc.

You sure are the best burst class in pvp right now not many other classes manage to get of 60k unmitigated dam or lashing for 50k.

Frankly, I don't see any PVE TRs crying at the moment nor do they have any reason to. Who cares if you make the most dps in Tiamat? You still get the same crappy rewards plus a linu's favor. In fact, TRs should just spec for control of adds if they are doing Tiamat. DPS also doesn't matter anymore in well of dragons since you just ride the mount across the map and zerg.

Agreed and also agree to some of ZengiaH's points. I didn't think in any way shape or form that permastealth was overpowered in module 4. I actually thought TRs were a bit underpowered and you certainly would not take 2x TRs in a premade.
It CAN exist, but if a TR is going to spec into a perma-stealth (or perma-daze for that matter) they should not have enough fire power to easily kill 1 person let alone win the odds against a 2v1 matchup.
Basically, no need to reveal from stealth but the TR's damage should greatly be reduced to a middleground between this module and last module. Having a nodeholder is fine, but if the game is too dependent upon who has more and better TRs, that is too much.

TRs are already easy to track and follow when near plus encounter cancellation (i.e come and get it, steal time), HR's roots and thorn ward detection and Hard traget lock. it's already provided other classes a window opportunity to catch the TR.

Honestly I would be all for stealth having no meter and just a cd. Meaning there would be absolutely no limit to how long you could say in stealth as long as you do not use any skills. (ya know like most mmos....)
As a TR, I chose option three, but only as the most palatable of the suggestions available. My concern with this change is not that it is a counter to permastealth, but that it's a counter to all stealth.
I would suggest one of two changes if people really do want to fix permastealth:
1. Apply the suggested changes BUT they do not take effect until a TR has been in stealth for X amount of time (10 seconds sounds right).
OR
2. Have a stealth bar's total capacity diminish over time, as well as stealth. That way, stealth will practically always eventually end (only extreme build sacrifice should make it possible (high INT and recovery out the Wazoo)). As for how to do this, I can think of 2 ways, either:
a) Each refill to a stealth bar (after the first refill) while in stealth gives diminished returns. First refill is 100%, then 85%, then 70%, then 55%, capping at 40% so that permastealth is still technically possible, but very difficult. Obviously these numbers aren't set in stone.
b) Just have the total capacity of the stealth bar diminish over time, similar to how stealth does already but at a much slower rate. Again, this should be only to a certain capping point, perhaps 40% as suggested above.
In either case, the stealth bar should return to normal upon exiting stealth, for any reason.

You never pug with your Tr but you pug with your 14,5-15k DC.I saw a dc ,with your handle in a random match.
In that match we were on the same team.
We lost to a premade by a very large margin.
Your Dc was dying very easily to enemy TRs.Not attacking you ,it is normal for all the non TRs to know this:but since you are so sure maybe you should train your Dc first?...:)
After reading certain posts about TRs wanting to be able to fight a 2v1 and win , posts about TRs being squishy out of stealth ,posts about TR's control being too small and other nonsense ,ofc I went for the 4th and most radical choice (even tho its just troll bait) .
And btw , TRs have NEVER been underpowered and have never lost their spot in premades .

a) Each refill to a stealth bar (after the first refill) while in stealth gives diminished returns. First refill is 100%, then 85%, then 70%, then 55%, capping at 40% so that permastealth is still technically possible, but very difficult. Obviously these numbers aren't set in stone.
b) Just have the total capacity of the stealth bar diminish over time, similar to how stealth does already but at a much slower rate. Again, this should be only to a certain capping point, perhaps 40% as suggested above.
In either case, the stealth bar should return to normal upon exiting stealth, for any reason.
Anytime you want bring any class but Tr and we see how long you survive against a 20k+ Tr and when we are done we see exactly how much l2p issue it was mkay ......

coz lets face it that is not even an option and never will be one .
even the devs never had in mind something so radical
lets talk facts:
no matter dmg reduction
no matter stealth reveal
high geared tr is going to come and one shot u from stealth and u will never see it coming .if u are less geared of course
any class can do this and no way to counter it
makes 0 difference if from stealth or not .
some fixes are ok and would work wonders in balance
but there is no place for mod 4 tr again let alone worse then mod 4 tr

As you where adressing the LIVE and l2p issue there I suggest you prove your worth on live shouldent be so much hassle for a skillzor player like you plz come with a sw or cw and show me exactly how you counter stealth and how it all comes down to l2p--

I see nothing about being 2 just that you say its a l2p issue for peeps who cant catch Trs in hide.
And I cant say i see you voting for Tr being utterly OP in live atm so that less then 2 can have a chanse to surive.
You me and all other know that if you come to live with any other class a 22k Tr would obliterate you while pron surfing and making dinner at the same time.

Let me just add for the sake of the argument that i have NO WISH for Trs to go back to module 4 or become non wanted in pve as the majority do play this game for pve.
As gwf gf hr and dc I know all to well how it feels when the nerf hammer hits to hard and its no fun at all for all involved.
But neither is getting sent to rezz by some invisible nuclar missile in every single pvp match you enter....
Just use AoE vs TR. I assure you they'll do some damage.

You never pug with your Tr but you pug with your 14,5-15k DC.I saw a dc ,with your handle in a random match.
In that match we were on the same team.
We lost to a premade by a very large margin.
Your Dc was dying very easily to enemy TRs.Not attacking you ,it is normal for all the non TRs to know this:but since you are so sure maybe you should train your Dc first?...:)
And btw , TRs have NEVER been underpowered and have never lost their spot in premades .
