This isn't a new problem with Neverwinter or mmo's in general. People have been ninja'ing resource nodes like this in mmos for 10 years or more. It sucks but there is no way to prevent it that doesn't come with heavy flaws that are arguably worse. The best advice is the same as it has been for years, gather defensively, If you think someone is going to try to ninja your node, fight the mobs on top of your node so that they get pulled into combat as well. (not effective in the flowers specifically but you get the idea). This problem has been around for 10 years and it will probably be around for 10 or more years.

It just goes to show that if you suck, you have to resort to stealing.

the person turned around and ninja'ed my flower. LOL
Yep. I rez'd someone and they didn't say thank you, they just ran up and took my flower.

    (Certain expletive goes here)

For some reason this year, you can pick flowers while in battle. So the heavily armored
can run into your fight, take the flower, and run off. Leaving you with the mess.

    They need to fix this.
Did you really think anyone could steal the power of the god of thieves?

Or like me and other TR's.. go stealth. BUT... I will never steal someone else's pickin's. I have had players wait for me to get into battle and then steal my loot.. it truely (expletive) stinks.

Same for me- whether I am attacked or not.
Yes my level 60 GWF just picks the flowers then kills after so I always get me flowers :)

Don't forget to pickup the dropped loot - they contain flowers from kobolds.

This is something you expect in D&D. I just like to imagine they are an evil character when I see someone do something douchy.

They talked about you in a mentor thread a while back. We need more like you.

As an antidote to this, I spent some time helping a level 4 pick flowers this morning. I followed him around, killing mobs while he picked.

The world is now a more balanced place.

It felt good actually. I might try and do a good deed in Neverwinter everyday. I have to admit that I've ninja'd in IWD, I'm not proud of it, but after spending hours trying to do the Lost in the pass mission and having stuff ninja'd from me, it was "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" situation.

The fix is you pick the flowers first.

Pick first, fight second, then collect any 'dead kobold' loot.

Or like me and other TR's.. go stealth. BUT... I will never steal someone else's pickin's. I have had players wait for me to get into battle and then steal my loot.. it truely (expletive) stinks.

I follow the "pay it forward" principle. I help people, I hope it makes them feel good and help others.

If I'm busy picking flowers, and a fight breaks out - I help, then only claim half the flowers.

The other day, I just followed a low-level, nuking the kobolds and letting them pick flowers. I got enough from the drops to make up for it too.

I used to just go to a low population instance because I can't stand people camping on the summer feast spawn points. Sure, you get fewer rewards for the contests, but it's also less aggravating. But they either reduced the number of instances, or more people are logging in, because all instances are 35-45 people since the last update (with accompanying lag). Everyone's pretty much just sitting on flowers and waiting for them to re-rez. I helped a whole bunch of people today who turned around and took all the flowers. So at the end of the festival, the people with pigs will be the piggy people!

Might have been me, I do stuff like that and remember doing it at about that time because it was the right thing to do.

It's not that bad with regards to the flowers, given that (as others said) you can pick them even while fighting. But in IWD, it's horrible. Some people simply wait until you start fighting and rush in to take it, others literally drop off a mob on you, run off a bit to get out of fight mode and come back to take it while you are still fighting.

Of course there are also people that either skip the object someone is obviously already claiming, or help out with the mobs since they are already here, but do not claim the quest object.

If Cryptic would make both quests and quests objects work consistently with regards to sharing..

Instead, they changed some stuff, like, troll idols. Sharing those now only works sporadically, even for players in the same group. Before they changed it it would always work if you could start claiming it.

Add the low amount of available locations/objects to pick from. They always have like 5 locations for such things, when you need 3-10 and there are 20+ players in a zone who need it. So 50+ times needed, but only 5 available at a time

So in a way, Cryptic/PWE promote ninjaing stuff like this
