It just goes to show that if you suck, you have to resort to stealing.

I feel a bit sad too when I see people judging an entire community from the acts of just a few individuals.

What? I feel the good community is tainted by people who have no respect for others. Why can't you think about people from a good perspective?

ya. "Thanks" is what I usually receive. Saying nothing is welcome too, since people are running for their lives. What happened today really shocked me.

I'm new to the game, and this is the first event I've seen. I got the the flower area and was appalled at how that's literally all that was going on. People are just waiting for someone to be dumb enough to grab aggro then rush in and steal the flowers. I spent a whole 30s in that area before I just went back to water fighting.

Just a heads up , you can actually pick the flowers before you kill the enemies , even if they agro onto you and put you into combat mode , I was just collecting flowers on my lvl 16 SW and the little Kobalds don't really get a chance to kill you unless you go near the GF and Mage types.

Yeah, I don't get these guys, it's not like the kobolds are very difficult to kill, and if the instance is crowded you can always find one with about 2 ppl in it...
No idea what my toon is now.

Good to know, thanks!

On a totally unrelated note - can anyone tell me why I can't create a new topic? As a new player, I've got some questions, but it looks like they lock new users from making new topics.

Once you have posted a reply in a existing thread you have to wait a few days then you can create new topic of your own , it is a anti spam thing , kinda annoying but necessary .

Very much so. I've seen an angry ex-player in another game set up what was likely a bot, (can't imagine they did it by hand) to spam that games forums with uh NSFW images thru multiple accounts.

I disagree it is necessary. It is just lazy. You can IP ban and map axe users on vBulletin forums in just a few clicks. And making someone wait 3 days before they can spam the forums with NSFW images isn't preventing it from happening, it's just delaying it.

But I digress. I don't want to derail this topic any more than I already have. Thanks for the replies.

I had a good experience the other day. I was killing some kobolds and a dwarf GF started helping me. There were two flowers and we each took one. Some people are good, some people are evil. This is something you expect in D&D. I just like to imagine they are an evil character when I see someone do something douchy.

It's an MMO, not related to whatever game. People are greedy, everyone is in some way or fashion. Unfortunately, anonymity of the internet, and the fact that there is no consequences for your actions just makes for a breeding ground as even the lofty reward of first place has resulted in a lot of dubious players going out of their way to attain that first place marker, even though the reward for doing some isn't that great.

The insanity of the average gamer, and oft temperament to declare something as "their's" even though there is no ownership often leaves me perplexed at just how far common human decency has fallen.

Sadly it happens just about everywhere thanks to stupid quest design in many areas. Starts with torching crates in Blacklake district, next is freeing guards in tower district and that poor design persists through campaigns and events.

I really wouldn't worry about a few flowers, if you have a few (thousand) petals left after the event the Devs will steal them...but only after making you carry them for a year.

As an antidote to this, I spent some time helping a level 4 pick flowers this morning. I followed him around, killing mobs while he picked.

The world is now a more balanced place.

It felt good actually. I might try and do a good deed in Neverwinter everyday. I have to admit that I've ninja'd in IWD, I'm not proud of it, but after spending hours trying to do the Lost in the pass mission and having stuff ninja'd from me, it was "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" situation.

There was a scrub DC in neverdeath leading all the mobs to the waiting dragon peeps, I helped him out the first time , then decided to inspect, the guy was lvl 19.. with like 2k gear score. If the mobs are lvl 26, Im trying to figure out why he was there.. there is literally no reason to skip content, you get a flat exp rate per quest, not floated by level.

So he tried it the next time, I messaged the person next to me and we just ran off.. was a little delightful to see him die.

I mean how lazy can you get nowadays? cant get friends/guilds to power level you.. might as well try to find strangers to do your work now =P ..

it takes like 20 mins to get to level ten.. even without twinking. The person came right from the intro screen (even then I think my sw was lvl 5 at the end of that =P .

IWD is terrible, worse place for ninjas, though I have to say, even if your frustrated, might be better to go to gate and change instance and see if you get a better one , then ninja someone else and ruin their day as well. I took a screen shot of a higher muckety muck , top end PVP guild person stealing my idols from me.. I so wish I could post it =P ..

I saved someone in the Rothe Valley tunnels, there was a whole gang of drow and spiders on this guy, they were going to die. I tagged a few mobs from ranged and then the guy ran them into my aoe. I ended up pulling all the aggro and they just RAN away while I had to kill everything. Like wow, really. Saved your sorry HAMSTER and you just dump them on me and run away. Can't believe I actually felt bad for this guy at first and my original intention was to help, even if it delayed me to getting to the dragon for farm time. Sometimes nice gals finish last..

hmmmm I'm not sure whether you are for or against ninjas. First paragraph sounds like you are against them, second paragraph not so clear.

If ignoring someone means we will never see them again, that would be great. It's a pity that building a black list like what we did before the shards merge is no longer possible.

I hope this can be restored... I had some too, but I don't remember how many.

Good for you. I still save people as people save me too. Ninjas like this are still fewer than the good player base.

They are probably thinking something like "that idiot grabbed all agro" -_- but seriously, this is definitely enraging. I don't know if there's anyway to prevent this from happening.
