Thought I'd share this excerpt of conversation we just had in our guild channel about the event. pretty well sums up my guilds collective thoughts on the whole thing. Note, my guild is currently over 700 actual players at this point across 4 in-game guilds... I'll leave further commentary out, take from this what you will.
[Cloakroom] ME: previous events, you usually could pick up stuff in the tradebar store. not always, but many times
<removed this line - not relevant to conversation>
[Cloakroom] GUILDMATE 2: The event is made for us to buy the blueprint form the zen store, and drive prices on basic proffesion stuff through the roof.
<removed this line - not relevant to conversation>
[Cloakroom] ME: this is straight zen store. the event is almost irrelevant. you basically buy blueprints with Zen, and get the stuff. that's cool, but the grind part of the event is just window dressing
[Cloakroom] GUILDMATE 3: it also really messes up the professions market for the ad sellers
[Cloakroom] ME: it's a little insulting they'd wrap this event around what amounts to a zen store purchase event/campaign
[Cloakroom] GUILDMATE 1: ye rafty gits
[Cloakroom] GUILDMATE 1: crafty
[Cloakroom] GUILDMATE 4: t
[Cloakroom] ME: seems like they should just call a duck a duck
[Cloakroom] GUILDMATE 5: they just hope to make some mony
[Cloakroom] ME: I don't mine people buying zen store stuff - that's awesome, it pays the bills and all that
[Cloakroom] GUILDMATE 3: meh the here take my money campaign
[Cloakroom] ME: i just don't like deceptive marketing
[Cloakroom] GUILDMATE 6: ok this is ridiculous 100 wool scraps at 100K AD
[Cloakroom] GUILDMATE 7: true, its a pay to play event
[Cloakroom] GUILDMATE 8: well, in a pay to win game...
[Cloakroom] GUILDMATE 9: The profession resources inflation is temporary. As soon as the event is over, it's all just gonna plummet away.
[Cloakroom] GUILDMATE 10: I hate that the events cause market inflation
[Cloakroom] GUILDMATE 11: so the event is causing inflation on profesion resources? why
[Cloakroom] ME: the game isn't really pay to win -- its more.. pay to not grind. and this event is a crystal clear example of that

Edit - Sorry at work atm so can't check myself.
How many players do you have online at a time
if what some people are saying is true than only rank 1's are dropping from mobs:
now there is usually a 30 second ICD on these droppings so that means:
2 per minute or 120 per hour which is 28.8 hours of farming
edit: fixed my math.
Sweet , thanks for the info .
All you can craft is first green level component. After that you will still need 3k+ grommets. You won't be able to get them before the event ends ;D
also i just finished crafting 1 from leatheworking and 2 from weaponsmithing. looks like it only gave me the rank 3. it did not give me the rank 1 and rank 2's.
edit: just looked a little more closely and the extra peices are tier results. freaking fantastic so now we need extra tools as well to reliably get anything worth while...
No complaints here! I may not get a doohickey, but I'm going to have 10 times the AD I had 3 hours ago.
The need for the profession assets makes this even worse. With in about 15 minutes of the event starting all of these were bought out and re listed for 100 to 1000x the previous values. Way to reward the guys playing the AH.... epic fail again
Since I have a day job and can't play Neverwinter until I get home and can only look at forums, it would be really great if you people that write about this stuff would actually say what is selling or what is needed to craft for these types of events, because right now all I see are people say "low level resources" and frankly I looked at some stuff and they are all still dirt cheap so what exactly is being sold since i'm sure its not every single resource out there being inflated.
basically its all of the low tier profession resources: ie simple pelts, iron ore etc
Also a bunch of the bought profession resources such as charcoal, solvent and rocksalt
I'd have really liked it if they'd included some higher tier crafting options for slightly better rewards as well, using the tier 2 and 3 materials and more of the rare items, and a proportionate time increase and need to for tools and crafters.
I know people are grumpy about the material flipping, but for those of us who actually have invested into crafting and have a large excess of raw materials we've not refined or sold off, having something new and different to do with them is fun.

simple pelt, wool scraps, pine wood, those are still fairly high right now. Those are the ones I know of.
for example i have 2400 exotic pelts but only 100 simple pelts. 3500 mithril ore but only 418 iron ore.
