I think tymora's lucky coin and adorable pocket pet should behave the same.

So both items are pretty similar. Drops from events which go in a potion slot and give a random buff every 10 minutes. There are however some key differences.

Tymora's lucky coin must be used from the potion slot and stays there until the cooldown is done, while adorable pocket pet has no such requirement

When used before the buff is up, adorable pocket pet just results in an error that you can only have one buff at a time, while Tymora's lucky coin will just replace the existing buff. This is just annoying for the pet since both can have their cooldowns reduced by recovery and anything else that reduces cooldowns so there might be a long time where it looks like you can use the pet, but it will just result in an error.

Finally, Tymora's lucky coin has an animation while the pet doesn't. From what I have heard, STO's tribbles (which work in a similar manner) have a petting animation when you use it.

Is this seriously a priority? Who gives a HAMSTER?

I give a HAMSTER and clearly at least a few others do as well.

    Because I do.

Why do you care so much about what kind of feedback I give about the game?

I find that it is the little touches which add up to make playing a real pleasure; Reading a funny piece of NPC dialogue before entering the room, or seeing my weapon floating inside my gelatinous cube mount are among the things that let me know the devs care about what they're making. Touches like the the sound of dice rolling during the recent Respen's event, or the little arguments between Xuna and Modar give the game a personality and sense of "life".

yep make the buffs replaceable on the pet too, the rest I dont really care but the ADORABLE pet not having an animation was a bummer.

Would be a nice touch, both mechanics wise and 'nice touch'. Not a major priority mind.

    A city to protect
    innocents to save
"Why?" They ask "they hate you"

. . . I strongly agree with all of this, indeed. I was disappointed when I used my pocket pet and I saw and heard nothing but a pop-up text and buff icon. STO's tribbles... the best part about them is the animation and sounds! I love all my many tribbles! I have so many.. they keep multiplying too... so cute... my tribbles... so cute... tribbles... so cute... my tribbles... so cute... tribbles... so cute... my tribbles... so many... tribbles...

I agree with Dardove. (And while I know there are some PvE players who can't manage to be respectful of PvP players and their concerns, being disrespectful of the kinds of things PvE players might care about isn't the solution.)

The only way to get a sense of when you can use the Pocket Pet again is by mousing over the buff duration, which is not very convenient when people are waiting for you.

Posting to confirm that I too give a HAMSTER about this kind of thing and would like to see the pocket pet have an animation.

It is indeed the little touches in a game that go a long way toward determining how much money I throw at Cryptic.

You really want to cuddle your furry pocket pet?

One thing I would like to suggest for both the coin and the pet (if an animation was added) is that the animation shouldn't lock you into it in combat. Last night I managed to kill myself in the final fight of FH by hitting the button for my coin instead of a potion. Rudely enough, the three golems chasing me didn't stop and wait for the coin flip animation to finish while my character just stood there...

I'd love for there to be an animation for the pocket pet, but in the grand scheme of things its not that big of a deal. The event was great, nice to see something different and original. Also, my pet seems to love trolling my GWF with the threat reduction bonus.

If it requires shifting then it wouldn't have mattered anyway, as I was burning my stamina as quickly as it replenished.
