Okay I've played a few MMPORG's and been pretty good at them but this seems like a new ball-game which both annoys me and interests me.

I find that i run out of stamina way too fast and also my secondary attack and it annoys the hell out of me because how can i fend off mobs at such close range if i run out of stamina and secondary attack so fast? I'm not in the habit of running away it just seems a little unfair to me but i also like it because i know it forces me to become skilled in combat.

    First, what class are you?
Second, your stamina is for avoiding big hits. Mobs will hit you, unless you're an early AoE class type. HR at 2, CW at 10.
Third, your primary and secondary at-will powers will never run out... which leads back to point one and I can't help more until I know more. :)

Well if he's rogue cloud of steel does have charges and it is an at will.

True, that's a good point. Part of the problem I think is misunderstanding primary and secondary attack. It's just 2 at-wills. But gotta know what he is, to help more.

Rogue makes most sense because of the second at-will running out of charges.

If you're a Trickster Rogue, you're going to drink a lot of healing potions until you get access to stealth at level 10 and get your free companion at level 16. You can buy a basic companion sooner if you can scrape up either 2 gold - which is pretty hard for a completely new player - or a few thousand astral diamonds for the auction house - which is pretty easy if you run the Black Lake skirmish (hit K and queue) while the skirmish event is on. Good companion choices can be the cleric disciple to save on potions or the man-at-arms to save on taking damage.

You can't dodge everything. Dodges are as stated to keep you from eating the big hits, ones that would cause massive damage or control effects.

Bait and Switch is a great skill to take once you can access it because it's a very effective distraction, allowing you to use your other skills to lay on the damage.

Cloud of Steel is useful early on for taking out weak things that are charging you, pulling mobs to you rather than charging in, dealing with ranged attackers, and getting hits in on anything you don't want to chase (mostly in group situations). While it tends to be a go-to skill for endgame PvP rogues, you may find yourself moving away from using it in PvE because of the limited charges. It can still be situationally useful, but you may not want it on your bar all the time.
