Cryptic must be doing really well to be passing on this opportunity to offer a sale on their packages and in-game items. Yes I know about the zen bonus and weekly sales, but I'd thought they would jump on this opportunity to sell more products. This is, after all, a cash-shop game.
Personally I'd picked up a guardian or Fey Wild package if it was discounted, say 33% or so. Much better to sell 10 at $39.99 than a few or none at all at full price. Did Cryptic miss an opportunity to boost their figures considering year-end is almost at hand? Your thoughts?

Because the Zen shop now always has rotating sales, people can't really get upset about buying product X and then seeing it discounted later. They know they chose not to wait for a sale.
I reckon discounting those packs would generate terrible ill will among people who paid full price for them with the understanding that they were already getting a deal on the contents.
And there will be new packs next week to go with the module launch.

They probably figure the regular sale, + key sale, + charge rewards, + bonus Zen event, + double XP event are enough.

Since it's an online sale, having a sale on Cyber Monday (the online equivalent to Black Friday) would make more sense.
I'd say the 2xXP weekend caused a spike in Zen sales for companions. I got four stones and a cat. Running the Sharandar quests this morning, I formed a party for Gnarlroot, then later joined a party for Witch Fen to find one of the same people in it. So I wasn't the only one running every mini-dungeon this morning.

Fiscal year ended back in September. The quarters are one of the big things businesses pay attention to. They actually have two sales going on, one of which will be a great money maker, the other probably not as much. Keys are on sale AS WELL AS their weekly sale AS WELL AS 15% extra on purchasing zen AS WELL AS Charge rewards. I do believe that they probably will make more money on key sales than anything else. I have absolutely no proof to back this up, just a gut feeling (especially with the lockbox resurgence which people will just so happen to find by the droves as they level characters & companions during the 2 XP weekend)
Sooo... yeah They totes have a lot of sales/incentives going on right now. It just seems they're not items you're interested in?

You're right, there's nothing that I really want from the current offers. I've purchased zen to buy bags and stones for three of my characters, and being sort of a bare-bone player, that's all I really "need" to enjoy the game.
I do enjoy the game, and would like to continue to support it somehow. With module 2 and companion bonuses, I thought about picking up a pet or two. From the packages, really, the only item I want is the account wide pet. $59.99 is the price of a new game, and to someone like me, paying that much for a 5% chance to interrupt is absurd.
I'm not sure how Cryptic financials are tied in with PWE, but I believe PWE's fiscal year ends in December.
