I joined a trade channel before you implemended an ingame trade channel.. but the problem is now i cant leave it. it "dosent" exist in "Set Channel" or "Chat Window Tabs". it only exists in Custom CHannels and i wont let me leave. When i press leave, it does nothing.

looks like this:

i cant type in it because when i do /trade it redirects me to the trade channel cryptic made.
i cant do /channel_leave trade

here you can see there is only 1 custom channel, and that is another one i am a member of. So i cant " unckeck" so i at least dont have to read what is written there.

when i press leave here aswell, nothing happens. i've tried 100 times.

I'm encountered the exact same issue.

From what I can gather it's brought about by the case insensitivity the chat system has when given the command to talk in a specific preset global channel ('/zone', '/lfg', '/trade' can be written with mixed case without care. E.g., '/zONe', '/TRadE', etc.).

Now that Cryptic have introduced an official '/Trade' channel, and keeping in mind the case insensitivity of the channel names, we can't leave '/trade' with a little 't' in any way that I can see.

It would have been better if the channels had GUID's, or something along those line, so that channels can be aliased easier without syntactic details getting in the way?! :P

I was able to get out of Trade by logging in on Champions, and leaving it there. I can't speak to NW, but it fixed the problem in STO.

Thank you for this amazing suggestion. It worked. This problem was starting to drive me insane.

Custom channels span games. Therefore, if you log in to another game, you can leave a custom channel you don't want to see in NW. It's a workaround for not being able to do it within NW. Assuming the other games require nothing other than creating a character to get in long enough to access chat settings, you could do the same.

What about those of us who would like to just disable the player-made "trade" channel on Neverwinter without leaving it cuz I want to have it when I play Champions? >.< I wish Crytic thought about this when they caved in with creating those extra channels on NW.

Not that I like bumping up threads, but I was doing some RP in the Mask today and I had a hell of a time trying to follow the conversation because I the CO "trade" channel was spammy.

Devs, please give us a way to turn off the player made "trade" channel while in NW. Pleeeeeease.

if you click on the gear symbol in the upper left corner of the chat window, and select the chat tab you're currently using, all of your custom channels should be listed there with the option to un-check them. once they're un-checked, you won't see anything from that channel while you're in neverwinter. whether that option exists in other PWE games, i do not know.

Unfortunately that doesn't work with "trade" channel. It has been somehow "broken" by the official "Trade" channel.

It doesn't appear at all in the "custom" channel list. Trying to leave/delete it from the other tab does nothing.

Please read my first post, its all in the pictures. Its impossible to leave the channel.

here there is only 1 channel:

    here there is 2:

the trade channel only exists in that list and cant be left. And its beeing spammed in all channels except log. Which is the one i have modified to avoid that channel because i ignore too many people on it

Also, selecting trade channel and clicking "Leave" in 2nd screenshot does nothing. :(

The CO "Trade" channel is also unaffected by console commands.

Also to note, I don't want to leave the CO "Trade" channel. I know I could just go into CO and leave the channel from in there. The problem is that I play on CO as well as NW, so I want the CO "Trade" channel when I'm playing CO. However, it would be nice for others in NW if they could leave the channel from within NW if they so wish. For me, I want to toggle the channel off.

Just to poke the devs on this, looks like the issue was forgotten as I see no fixes in the next patch and it is not even acknowledged in "Known issues". It's still broken.
