Generally speaking, I'm pleased with the changes to the in-game economy, especially with regards to gold.
After turning lvl 60 pre-feywild, I was having difficulty affording health potions when trying to run epic dungeons. the cost of greater identification potions 125AD was killing me.
However, increasing the number of blue equipment loot drops was a slick move. fewer uses of greater identification scrolls, greater silver income... and generally less "wasted" ad while still generating a fairly steady income of gold and AD.
many ppl are complaining currently about equipment, but I just wanted to say thanks and good job on the alterations. when playing neverwinter as a lvl 60 character, I never feel "gold poor" anymore.
gantoris, prepatch selling a single 45 grym coin equipment could buy you 600 major health potions... um. Good luck getting more than 60 potions from the AD you get from salvaging a grym coin item now.

But why would you spend ADs on healing potions when you're not short of gold?
becky, just a comparison to show someone that the changes he is praising is actually resulting in less potions for him. Well at least less potions for him if he knew what he was doing and before the patch that ruined the economy.

No, just no. Why would you waste AD on pots?!? Sure you can take that AD to make it into a ton of gold ... but it is such a waste of AD. A couple farm style foundries and in 30 min you have plenty of gold for pots and kits.
It's sad to see people today have no appreciation for similes. And it makes me lose all hope for humanity when multiple people show they also can't comprehend them.
Let's go through this step by step. First of all, gauntlgrym coins used to be able to buy BoE equipment that people would purchase for the equivalent of approximately 1k AD per gauntlgrym coin, or 1 gold per gauntlgrym coin.
Currently, gauntlgrym coin items are BoP, and can only be salvaged for rough AD's These rough AD's are about 1/10th of what you used to be able to get in refined AD. The buying power of this gauntlgrym item is relatively about 10% of what it used to be.
By comparing the potential to buy 600 major health potions with the old gauntlgrym item versus 60 major health potions with the new gauntlgrym item, I hoped to have illustrated the original poster's erroneous praise for the new system. Now that I have spelled it out to you, I hope you understand. But in case you didn't understand the point I was trying to make, I will say it in one sentence.
It used to be much easier to get potions than now.
Don't you get enough gold off the HAMSTER that falls in the dungeons to cover potion expense. I dont see how you can actually run out of gold buying potions if your selling the HAMSTER that comes off the trash.
