I don't understand why do you need naked chars running around in the first place, the graphics aren't even that good. I assume that everyone who has his character naked at some point...
What I'm wondering is where you're seeing nudity in this game. Have you installed one of those texture hacks to get this? Because otherwise, the worst you can get is those dumpy beige underwear. Which are more covering than stuff you can see on a public beach (or those laughable lingerie "fashion show" specials CBS used to show at Thanksgiving.)
This game is already a ...E-rp game in case you had not noticed. most the Fashion skirts fly up and vanish when you move and the number of outfits with bare mid=drifts is very high. I actually got flack putting a hoopskirt on my rogue. even though she had ample rp reasons to and was in a social party situation.
and I so agree about the ratty brown bra it shows through the back of the wedding gown dress. if your going to have low-cut armors and backless fashion outfits at least under garments that don't show. I've seen people bug armor to have no top at all I d much rather see people with cleavage smartly dressed then bugging things out in order to get the look they want.
the more options the better you should be able to hide visuals on shirts they don't offer much since most hardly show or clash a bit with the outfits. Im also still hoping they add the OPTION to show armor in fashion slots that are unfilled. as people might be more likely to wear their armor if they can also have the fashion hats they like (Eyepatch)
it wouldn't matter if everyone was forced to wear high necked Victorian dresses with the 5 -7 layers of underwear E-RP will still be around as E-RP often has nothing to do with how a character looks but what people type. Cat ears/tail and butterfly/angel/demon wings are actually more likely to increase ERP than scant outfits.
Oh don't give me that "disrespectful towards women" tripe! What do you call men running around in their skivvies bare chested?
I don't need to be "protected" by white knights, thank you very much, and I'm pretty sure a lot of women would agree.
As for you... Why so offended by a little pixelated skin, hmm? Might want to speak for yourself and yourself alone on your phobia of nudity in the slightest sense. I'm certain you'd fit in nicely in the Middle East(No offense whatsoever to individuals from that area or with an affinity towards their lifestyles).
Oh yeah, thanks for completely derailing the topic with Disney and Hasbro...
TL;DR: How can people possibly ask for "real life" realistic in DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS? (O_O;)
I know D&D's all about how you make of it but to ask that much... you're doing it wrong!
Why is it that whenever we have this topic come up we have a fresh forum goer show up with a avatar picture "proving she's a real girl" screaming about white knights and that "she" doesn't want to be protected?
While most actual females want to see less misogyny in gaming not more.

Because this will make the person who says it "stand out" and appeal to certain males, showing that she's a "right kind of a girl". It is one of the most basic ways to keep misogyny flourishing in the community, worked for centuries, and effective still.
This game is already a ...E-rp game in case you had not noticed.
No it's not, hence the burlap "ugly" underwear. It's a game about beating stuff with sticks and lightnings, and getting fawt luwtz for that. And all of that happens in dungeons.

No offence, but this is a physics bug... did you really think it was there intentionally? And again, this is a kid's game. The esrb rating is currently pending, but i assume that it is going to be pegi 12+, to attract the biggest possible gaming crowd.
I highly doubt that in a pegi 12+ game e-rp should have it's place. The developers should do away with that, asap and keep our game clean.

I think we are starting to get way off track. I just want choices. And that goes both ways.
My Wizard character is actually kinda nerdy and Id LOVE to have a set of robes that don't expose her navel. But there isn't any female robes with that option.
My GF character on the other hand would like less armor. She already has a giant shield, she really has less need for total top to bottom plate. The whole idea of platemail was you were wearing your shield. Id love to see more styles in a Spartan motif, full breast plate, but less arm, shoulder, and leg armor.
Considering we already have options, for.....sexy (dum dum dum!) Nothing is going to change that. And I cant see how having more options, both more covered and more sexy, is a bad thing.

"Online content subject to change" or "Online experience may vary".
ERP simply means that player A and player B say lewd/sexual things to one-another. The game could consist of nothing but rectangular prisms for avatars and people would still ERP. The most the devs could do would be to make it clear that such actions are not to be carried out in local or zone chat, and must be restricted to PMs, team chat, or other private channels.

This is NOT a kid's game. Get that out of your head. And actually the biggest gaming crowd now a days is adults. I am 42.

E-RP is in every MMO, which is why every MMO that receives an ESRB rating comes along with a disclaimer that online interactions (e.g., E-RP) are not rated by the ERSB. This is meant to convey to parents in particular that because the game involves interaction online with other human beings, this "content" can't be covered by the rating, and therefore there are risks that this "content" will be inconsistent with the rating. In other words -- don't be an idiot and realize that once people are interacting with other people in real time on the internet, all kinds of crazy stuff can happen in text.
I'm expecting ESRB to give Neverwinter a "T" rating, consistent with most of the previous Neverwinter games, but bearing the disclaimer for online games. I doubt that the presence of courtesan gear will impact this one iota, nor the description of the gear. I have no idea what the PEGI will rate it.

Yeah, I have no idea where this idea that "attractive/revealing clothing = Erotic RolePlay" came from. It's bizarre.
(personally, I've always found ERP to be kinda bizarre. Like phone sex. Strange.)
General question, for whoever.
Have you ever watched a TV show like Xena, Alias, CSI: Miami (heck, just about any "prime-time soap"), etc? Or movies like Underworld, Fifth Element, any of the Star Wars since RotJ, Charlie's Angels, etc? Read, oh, just about any superhero comic ever?
Do you consider those things having attractive characters in variously-revealing outfits to be "perverted"?
If not, why are you considering an attractive character in somewhat revealing outfits in a videogame to be perverted?
Seriously, it's kind of confusing where this is coming from.

Jasmine from Aladdin dresses in a more revealing manner than most of the character armors in-game. The girls that were pining after Gaston, (or w/e his name was from Beauty and the Beast), were practically falling out of their dresses, and then there's Jessica Rabbit... so if Disney is what we're going by, then NW is safe!
*And yes I know Who Framed Roger Rabbit was more of a collaboration/licensed characters situation, but Disney still permitted it.

Hasbro is owned by disney and hasbro is the publisher of NW i think. Didn't they also buy atari?
If the kinds of outfits portrayed in various Disney films are acceptable for children, then they are acceptable in a video game. Thus, NW is fine...

I have looked up Hasbro and Disney and there is nothing about Hasbro being owned by Disney. It was a rumor only
Strange, not just one person i played champions online with have told me about the disney/hasbro thing. I assumed, (almost 2 years have passed since then) that the deal was done already. I guess that it is still pending to be sold/bought. Even though they are denying it.

Hasbro owns WOTC, which is the D&D licensor. I'd expect that the license agreement contains significant requirements about standards and running things by WOTC and so on, but I doubt WOTC would have any objections to sexiness because this is a part of D&D canon and always has been.

Yeah, keeping track of all the company buyouts and sub-ownerships and licenses can be a pain
I don’t see how having a bit of modesty and wearing armor that's protective is such a big deal. High fantasy or not armor is there for the same reason as it is in real life, to protect the person under it not show them off and make them look “sexy” although, none of the following armors take away from the women’s femininity in my eyes.
Whether a woman's in a burka or naked, if she's sexy she's sexy, if she's not, she's not. It doesn't even have anything to do with looks in the aesthetic sense (e.g. symmetry, proportion, etc.)
It has to do with how she carries herself, whether she feels at home in her skin, etc. It's a matter of psychology. Sexiness is all in the mind, a kind of inner confidence, and that translates to the body automatically.
So I don't need my virtual wimminz to be nekkid to be sexy. On the other hand, I don't have any particular objection if they are nekkid either.
But wait! What am I saying? Does it even matter whether a warrior women is sexy or not, so long as she does her job?
Well, it seems that in quite a few cultures, particularly Western cultures, there's a tradition of some men liking the idea of a strong companion woman, a woman who can stand beside you and you face the world together, who can drink with you, party just as hard as you; this, rather than a woman who's meek, submissive and adores you and centres her life around you. Some men go more for one type, others more for the other type; for some men one type is sexy, for others the other type. Horses for courses.
And why do I have as many female avatars as male? Yes, that old question. I tend to divide it along the lines of, if I'm going to be rp-ing a toon, best make it male, because acting a female is quite hard, and requires concentration on what I'm saying, whereas acting my own gender is easy, there's one less layer of consideration.
But when all's said and done, obviously as a hetero male, females are more aesthetically pleasing to me - I just like to look at 'em. I like to look at 'em whether they're dressed or undressed, in full chainmail or nekkid, and everything inbetween.

Yep. Because they had actual nudity, and graphic blood & guts. R-rated stuff, not PG/PG-13.
