this just happened to me- I had an empty message highlighted and i clicked "delete", then the popup asks me if im "sure id like to delete this message?" so i go to click "yes" and a hairline fraction of a second before my click goes off, a new mail comes into the mailbox which pushes my highlight cursor over 1 message, to a message that contained items i did *not* want to delete. right after my click goes through, the empty mail i was trying to delete is still there and my mail that had all my items is gone... simply because of unbelievable timing of a new mail coming in. if youre in the mailbox incoming mail should not change your previously highlighted item. because of the way this went down, it even deleted a message with items without giving me the "this message contains items!" red warning i should have gotten. look into it
Trick to the mailboxes: Go thru all currently displayed and accept all your mail taking out all items. Close out of mailbox. Open again. Click on now empty mail. Put mouse over "delete." Click "delete." Hit "enter" on your keypad twice. Wash rinse repeat. If you see "this has something you don't want to delete" stop yourself in time.
I have never deleted any incoming mail this way prolly not unlucky enough but I have moved so fast that I deleted an extremely valuable item on accident.
I want the mailboxes fixed as well. I want to see a "Delete All Read Mail" button added. Obviously this would not delete a piece of mail that had contents still in it.
I can get hundreds of mail from Auction House a day and it gets very tedious deleting each individual. It also does not prevent us from deleting important mail. A "Delete All Read Mail" button would fix this for the OP's and my problem.
I've also deleted the wrong mail due to the exact same issue- when you sell enough on the AH it's bound to happen. if i click Delete on one piece of mail, clicking on the confirmation should delete *that* mail and not another one just because a new mail came in at the wrong time. this is an easily replicated bug, any 2 people can create and verify this bug in about 3 minutes.
not ONLY is mail deleted sometimes deleteing things we don't want deleted but ALSO, I have 10 NW toons, I have 14 CO toons, I have 16 STO toons.
I've noticed that #1, I now have an average max mail, of 20 slots.
I've ALSO NOTICED, every time I delete from a NW mailbox, a random STO or CO mail to my @name may also be deleted.
( the mail may not be random at all, it may actualy be the STO/CO mail list slot that far up or down the list, effectively deleateing all mail over 3 games that have mail in that numerical "mail slot" )
and... 800 mails between 40 toons is NOT ENOUGH!!, what if I had max # of toons posable on each game? what? 150 toons sharing 800 mail slots?
edit to add for mods: I'm mostly ranting about this here because... the support page will not let you log in. and I have recived NO e-mails from support on tickets I sent from in game. ( note, the support page doesn't even llet you get on it through an already logged in PWE page, I've tried to rech it from STO main, CO main, NW main, AND my wallet, no support accesses at all out of game, and in game it askes you to respond to any support responses online (out of game))
we should keep this on topic to the very specific issue at hand though. this bug is extremely easy to replicate and could really have horrible consequences having people delete anything in their mailbox. im scared now every time i delete a piece of mail knowing just as i click Confirm another mail may come in at that instant and i'll be deleting something unintended. need some acknowledgement of this issue

indeed this should be an easy and important verify/fix
this just happened to me... accidently deleted a coal ward because i was clearing my inbox of 1000 messages. The auction message with coal ward appeared at the top, and even though i did not click on it, it was deleted as i was spamming delete + enter. This should really be fixed. Also when i tested things out later, it says that "item might take a while to return". What does that mean? is there a chance that you could get ur item back?
i propose that there should be a tab in the auction house where it says your purchase history and collecting your item from there, rather than accidently deleting precious item in a mailbox full of spam (since there's no delete multiple mail option, spam clicking + enter is the only solution for now)

Submit a ticket with customer support explaining very carefully exactly what happened. Use small words. I've had astral diamonds reinstated from this bug. I am not sure about physical items, because policy is usually the items won't be replaced. But it doesn't hurt to try.
