I for one have been banned with no explanation given. so i created a new account. Sadly, my other account is HotN and i have also spent $50 for zen... >_>

The point is, i am on the verge of requesting my money back. After all the Beta Weekends, all the hours i have put in to making my 4 toons 2 of which are 60's without exploits!! and i get a ban for 72 hours. what a joke.

Maybe they should have banned you for ever then. Would that made things so much brighter at Champions Online?
...wait...oh, this wasn't about CO at all.
    Carry on.

Only if you like bogus made up numbers pulled out of thin air. :D

Dev's, please help save CO. We need you, you are our only hope! Don't let the game die to doomsayers, number wranglers, Telepathy masochists, or snakes ego.

Support your game, it is all we ask.

Champions is my absolute favorite MMORPG of all time and even with all of its glaring faults I still love it over everything else.

I mean, c'mon, it's an MMO that lets you have blue hair. Neverwinter doesn't even let you do that! No fussing around with dyes and transmuting to make your character look neat, just get to level 10 and you have the full costume creator unlocked for your use!

Of course, there's the ever-present issue of Cryptic ignoring the game save for mounts (which are lame vehicles that you can't even change the appearance of, going against the EVERYTHING about the game) and adding pitifully short event queues (we call them Alerts) that take weeks to develop and minutes to actually complete.

Beyond that, though, CO is the best MMORPG ever. Neverwinter doesn't even come close, imho... and yet Cryptic has locked CO in the cellar and occasionally tosses in table scraps.

Why would a unique game about superheroes, with character creator than any game has yet to manage to top and powers that you can freely choose be a priority over a 1-in-a-over9000 fantasy game with dungeons and orcs and swords and elfs and wizards that all look the same?

We get table scraps?! No this is untrue. We don't get table scraps.

We are the food tasters. We don't even get to enjoy whats left of the meal. We get to make sure that what ever new gimmick they come up with wont end up poisoning their new game. Lets take a brief look at the stuff we had to swallow first..

    Fusing system.
    Socket system with Offense/Defense/Utility slots.
    Gear revamp
    Alerts (Skirmish tech)
Vehicles that characters can ride (mounts)

Pretty much everything that came with On-Alert. And most of it once tested was left unfinished. We don't even get to use the horses, that were pretty much pioneered in vehicle tech.

Now, i'm not saying the systems we got from all this are bad, assuming they ever get to a finished state. But the problem was, we were told these changes to the core game needed to happen to improve the games future....we simply assumed that meant Champions future not Neverwinters.

But we are happy. We get continuing content added to CO, weekly patching, new stuff in Z-store, new costume pieces.
    ...
    Ok. That actually sounded stupid....

I don't believe that Cryptic North exists. Not until there's an actual announcement about them officially. Internet is full on stuff that people put there to make something appear real.

I'm neutral on Cryptic. I played CoH for nearly it's entire tenure. On one hand, Cryptic was the major force in it's creation, and on the other, the game got a hundred times better after they got the IP bought out from them. Sure Paragon took a while after jumping off of that particular cliff before they truly spread their wings but once they did, things got AWESOME.

Does Cryptic abandon their games? Sometimes. Maybe techically most of the time. But so far that I've seen they've usually only done so temporarilly, and always for good reasons (or at the very least due to lack of choice - Cryptics blackout period being the best example). Also, I gotta be honest - CO is inferior to CoH, always has been and always will be. Will it be a loss for those who enjoy it? Of course. But there's a few things the Chicken Littles here should keep in mind.

    1. If CO gets abandoned - IF mind you! It would be the first time Cryptic had walked away from a game of their own accord, at least that I can find. STO isn't abandoned - Romulans and Remans anyone? CoH wasn't abandoned, it was left in better hands and Cryptic was happy to see themselves out the door, there.

    2. Chicken Littles have been talking about CO being at risk of getting the axe for... good lord, YEARS now. Ever since the Lifetime Sub' thing and before that even. So this is just another example of how Chicken Littles are, by and large, often wrong. Sky isn't falling until it's falling, and / or fallen. With NW now past release, give the team - or teams now with North? - time to get back to CO. If they don't, or say they won't, or whatever, THEN the sky is falling, but not until. Then again, some of us have already been there and done that. Cryptic has by and large been much more generous with CO than NcShaft was with CoH, especially since the latter was far, far, FAR more profitable / acclaimed / populated than the former.

    3. And really, last but not least - why post about CO in the NW forum? I mean I get that you think you're "looking out for your fellow gamers" or some such bull, but really, if people cared about CO... they'd be on the CO forum. What you're talking about falls more under the heading of Jack Jacking things up for Jacked Up Reasons. Now, that isn't all of what you're saying, yeah - but some of us know Jack Emmert's brand of horse manure better than others, having had experience with it before CO existed. Others don't at all. The rest fall in between. How about addressing that more directly? CO is a classic example of JE and his "gotta eff with stuff" attitude, but far from the only one. And if it's not Jack and his Jacking stuff up then what is it? As I said, CO's had people claiming it's end days for years now. Maybe someday you'll be right, but why bother non-CO people with it? Especailly after having been wrong for so many years...

Finally an FYI - I'm not trying to cause offense here, just tryin' to be a voice of reason. Do I care about CO? No, not at all. My two cents, if Cryptic's gotta let something go, it should definately be CO. If CoH's Heroes in Exile can't save CO, and out of sheer lack of options to boot, then NOTHING will.

    @Raven Lord,
Liberty (or Death, and yes I was there right 'til that happened)
    CoH for 8+ years.

HAHAHAHAno. So wrong. CO's CC was inferior from the day it was born, onward. Too bad that CoH no longer exists so you can see what I mean.

    Wrong? On which account?
I played CoH for years. The characters in CoH were butt ugly. Yea, the tights choices were better. And some costume pieces were awesome, after 8 years. You could choose power animations. The graphics were old old old with mitten hands. It had good things but it's now way near superior to COs. And CoH is long gone. So CO creator kicks butt in every game genre.
We talk CO here because we talk NW in CO... And there are people who played and still play CO along NW. If you're nonCO people you dont have to read this thread. Theres plenty of NW manure here to dig in.
And seems the Cryptic/PW attention is pointed on NW.
Until ta mod comes and lock this up, do us a favor and try not to tell what to do or not to do.

CO's costume creator requires a lot of practice to use.

Also, the initial, watered down version a lot of new players got is probably a pretty huge turnoff, so...

Kindly <censored>, CoH fanboy. You're just another nostalgia blinded idiot like most (not all) of that game's fanbase. And it sickens me that I share the same species as you. If Cryptic's going to let anything go, it should be themselves, and just dump all its fanbases out on their <censored>. That way maybe <censored> like you would "get it".

CO easily has the most potential out of every IP they've got going right now, the only thing stopping them is that <censored>fanboys of Star Trek and DnD will shovel whatever <censored> games devs put out down their throats with a stupid smile slapped across their faces. And hey, you'd gladly shovel <censored> into someone's mouth if they payed you hundreds of dollars to do it too, right?

Anyways, get back to me in 3 years when Cryptic has given up on doing anything with this game because their half <censored> code has gone to <censored> again and they can't figure out how to unravel it to fix it.

    -
I'd apologize for this after coming to this morning and remembering i posted this, but I can't. The CoH fanboys with this "Holier Than Thou" attitude about their crappy 9 year old dead game really do make me sick and ashamed of my own species.

CO is a large part of the reason I've stopped spending any money here as well--a company that engages in those practices doesn't merit my money via any product they make. Fortunately, my efforts to get my normal group to find another game to replace NW are starting to work as they too begin to see the familiar signs of Cryptic mismanagement, having also given up on CO since it was abandoned over a year ago.

    Agree 100%.

And I think from a marketing perspective Cryptic is also missing out a great opportunity here. You have this awesome trinity of genres (Fantasy, SciFi, SuperHero) all connected through your chat system. Heck, you could actually advertize it that way!

But Champions needs some love. The game itself is great and offers very unique things like the epic costume creator, complete freeform power customization, some great Comic Series and a good combat system to name a few. All of this counts for little though, if Cryptic is satisfied with keeping the Status Quo. This game could rise like a Phoenix from the ashes and attract plenty of your new customers to an epic trinity of genres.

Heck, seriously... I can see myself growing old with this trinity of games. No other MMO's needed. Make it happen Cryptic!

wait.. if I read this right, I can chat cross game platforms via chat channels?

. . . . . This may be the Off-Topic Forum, however this is not the place for issues on other Game Titles. As well, we have a strict "No I Quit Threads" policy - which include hostile demands, ultimatums, petitions, and (but not limited to) boycott threads. We allowed this thread for as long as we possibly could. Never-the-less, the feedback is welcomed and I'll make sure this thread is passed along to my Superiors.
    No "I Quit" threads.
We're sorry to see you go, but please keep your goodbyes to PMs or in game messages. These threads do not contribute to the community discussion and generally end in hate or flames.

. . . . . As a Champions Online player myself, I can sympathize but our Rules are our Rules. I am truly sorry.

. . . . . Yes, custom chat channels span the entire Cryptic Chat System and can be used to communicate across CO, STO, and NWO.
