new to playing the game. It was great for about 3 days & then it's now virtually unplayable. It causes my PC to shut down my internet connections (though the modem is still fine) & I have to reboot the pc to bring it back. 15 minutes of playing time if I'm lucky.
So I take a break from Neverwinter because it keeps killing my connection, and fire up PW's ARC launcher and load Star Trek Online... game is completely fine for a couple of days, and then BAM! Internet connection killed. Same like in NW, just sitting there doing little/nothing (i.e. at bank, talking to npc, etc). Sometimes it just dies having the launcher sit there.
I scanned through the STO forums, and they look REMARKABLY SIMILAR to these Neverwinter forums: can't log in, server not responding, etc. Now most of those are likely due to the issue we all have here, and some STO players commented on it. Like here, any post about this is moved to the bug graveyard, but also like here, their bug graveyard is becoming very popular.
One user even suggested it is because they host on Cogent(?) network/backbone systems, but I don't know much about that.
Anyone else hear the chorus of Steve Miller Band's "Go On, Take the Money and Run" playing in their head? I think that's Cryptic's theme song...
I'm having the same problem as you and it's getting very frustrating. I can play for any random amount of time and all of a sudden my modem stops sending and receiving data. I basically have to just wait for it to reset on it's own or unplug and replug it. It's starting to happen a lot more frequently, too.
Ok i would like to point out that this game has some serius issue with the internet. If the company cant do a proper game then dont a freaking game. The worked perfectly until i started doing this quest that requires me to go down a sewer and kill rat man. Wen i go to the fire camp in the sewers the game kills the internet so plz NOOBS, correct this glytch becuz i will delete my acount and go back to World of Warcraft werre at least i can play more then 5 secondes. Other thing this game seem to have reel trouble handling massive players since it lags as hell. So tomorow if this probl
This is still a serious problem. Sometimes if I don't completely reboot the the game from the launcher it will instantly restart my modem. But I noticed it happens mainly when I join parties. I would have played this game alot and spent quite a bit of money on it to be quite honest. Oh well their loss. You'd think after 22 pages this would have gotten fixed. So long NeverWinter

Thanks for that thread. Glad to know I am not the only one with this issue. I got same problem as nitrusoxideus, and many people in this thread. And it always happens in parties, never in solo instances. And it's not only NW or STO bug. Looks like there's same issue in Forsaken Worls as well. Too bad.
When I was using the standalone NW client, it worked perfectly. After a PC rebuild I had to use the Arc client to access Neverwinter....now I'm having the same issue that other users are reporting. It did not happen before Arc
Once I exit Arc and remove it from the system tray, I can access the internet as usual. Very frustrating.
I haven't fully researched this yet -but I wonder if the issue is that Arc is pushing its own web browser.
Arc's In-Game Overlay with fully functional web browser; take control over the Internet to review the forums and gloat over your CORE Connect Achievements
I can see this thread is a bit old, but it really needs a bump.
I have installed Neverwinter Online 2 days ago, and it worked perfectly fine until today. Same thing started to happen to me - the game would actually "kill" my internet connection for 15-30 seconds. I've read the whole topic and decided to stop playing the game.
AND NOW THE WORST PART:
Now the same thing is happening when I play other online games, or even when I run programmes such as Steam. Needless to say, it wasn't happening before, and I was playing CoD, FIFA and many other games a lot - the problem never existed until Neverwinter Online.
I uninstalled Neverwinter and Arc - didn't help
I restored system to the point when it wasn't installed - didn't help
I restored router's factory settings - didn't help.

What should I do? Any help?
