My understanding is that the new gear really only pertains to the storm king's thunder content.
On a side note, if you do happen to get a legendary tool, it might be for a profession that you aren't even doing or want it for. Kind of makes it a pain really.
"This relic armor will help the wearer resist the supernatural cold known as Everfrost. But even ignoring its cold-resisting properties, the armor is the most powerful currently known in the Forgotten Realms, and thus is more than suitable for general-purpose adventuring as well"
Equipment on the other hand, is replaced outright, and Fangbreaker will absolutely include new, worthwhile equipment. The relic armor in Fangbreaker should offer a number of new best in slot pieces for many classes. When fully charged, relic armor is item level 150, edging out masterwork and dragonflight.
Had the Legendary tools been available from the start of the Masterworks introduction, I might have paid 20 mil per tool, and for something as good as a crucible, maybe more.
But with the declining population on Xbox, and an increasing numbers of guild reaching rank 12, paying that much will take too long to break even and start turning a profit on the tools for me...
Most powerful in the forgotten realms. Is that the new area or all of NW? Forgive my laziness for not knowing much about the new patch.
Forgotten Realms is the original world setting from the Dungeons and Dragons game. It includes all the FR/Faerun/Underdark settings including places like Waterdeep, Baldurs Gate and, of course... Neverwinter.
I know about relic armor since a while now but even before I already assumed new armor had to be at least item lvl 150 and thats the reason why I did not start Mastercrafting at all. Also its just too pricey and I dont have any 4.2K character yet, so I decided to invest further into my characters.
Edit: On my characters Im crafting the AD crates and Refinement stones within leadership, epic surplus crates for the SH and lvling up professions that are not maxed out yet. 2 of my characters have already 5 professions (6 with Black ice shaping) maxed. Actually I have all professions maxed except alchemy. So I am able to craft HAMSTER tons of crates for the stronghold.
So masterwork and dragonflight armor are now worthless. What's the point in doing professions anymore besides leadership for refinement.....
Only for the people who are in a position to immediately replace them with a full compliment of new gear.
There is all too often an assumption on these fora that the only people who matter are the ones at the top end. There are lots and lots of players, both above and below L70 for whom all that stuff is a long way off.
My guild is L3 and we have just aligned with a guild who have DF armour. We are going to be doing our first Stronghold Dragon run this weekend.
From the way the publicity reads for the new gear, we are all many months from even risking the quests/campaign, so no... Masterwork and Dragonflight aren't worthless.
Masterwork will be just because of the price. It has to be expensive because of all the resources it takes to make along with the failure rate and rush costs. If you don't rush the resources, it would take ages to make armor.

Strictly pen and paper speaking, Greyhawk is what become of the original campaign setting, starting off with no publications and then finally dubbed its namesake. The second campaign setting was without name, just known as "Dungeons & Dragons" yet most known by it's homeworld of Mystara and had several titled "expansions" if you will, such as "Hollow World." The Forgotten Realms is the third campaign setting in the D&D universe. It is however the most popular and most publicized of all the settings with one of the founding fathers of D&D still going strong with lore and interaction, the esteemed Ed Greenwood.
Bad grammar on my part. Yes, Greyhawk came first and was home to the earliest TSR modules.
I remember having to wait for years after first playing the cream covered Village of Hommlet before the rest of the Temple campaign was released.
Greyhawk was a complete world setting in a gate fold cover... old dusty memories of the big map on my bedroom wall. FR was the first to come in a box set, and its original premise was a world with only a few regions written by the devs, so that each FR campaign was unique to the DM writing it. It allowed DMs to map their own campaigns and plots into Faerun...
But as with all things, the mighty dollar took over when FR became more popular than both Greyhawk and Krynn (Dragonlance...) and I doubt there's a square mile that isnt covered by some mod, expansion or box set.
My favourite p&p location in FR has always been Waterdeep, even when I used to mod for Neverwinter Nights (1 & 2) I tried to recreate that city rather than NW or BG.
Good luck getting the tool honestly 500 or so packs and it was a big mistake just having to erase all those purple assets because the profession people won't even stack . And the unified elements or eggs don't nearly cover the cost . Not only this but also 6,000 or so enchanted keys within just a few days and still no legendary mount drop and only 2 gold companion lions . Worst ring box in the history of this game

6000 keys? Omg man.... Now that dedication! Thanks for the info on the Firemane RNG rate though, I have saved up 50 keys from vip and will probably use them on Glorious Resurgence or New Life instead...... 6000 WOW!
I've opened over 1k of these boxes and not one single admin message yet. This box is terrible for the big ticket items at least for me. I've opened a HAMSTER ton of professions packs and nothing. Don't get me wrong my luck is typically pretty good on lock boxes just this box has been terrible to me so far. 700 boxes in one sitting as well.

I guess we'll find out tomorrow....

Still, that Legendary Crucible is looking sweet
