Well this is going to go down a treat with the players that have the old leadership armies, there is going to be an uproar.
For me maybe a blessing in disguise cause I wont have to worry about incanting anymore. Glad I have a few Million AD saved up.
We play in a world that has a set of very vengeful gods my friends, as soon as you seem to be getting somewhere . . . . wham . . . . the hand of god nerfs you back into oblivion
This could have the potential for an extreme market reaction.
Every 10 characters invoked 6 times a day is approximately 1 million AD put into the economy every month. A maxed out account that invokes regularly would input 5 million AD into the economy.
Lets just assume that there about 500 players with accounts like this (I picked a random feasible number). That would equate to 2.5 billion AD that will no longer be in circulation in any given month. Add to that amount the smaller accounts with 10 or 20 or 30 characters, each equaling smaller amounts that could very well add up to more than 2.5 billion.
Combine this ENORMOUS loss of market liquidity with the reduction of overall salvage values also coming with MOD10 and its easy to predict a MONUMENTAL reduction in overall spending trends across the board.
The real questions are: What will happen on the Auction House? How will this effect player spending habits, price point selection and wealth distribution? What will be the effect on the Zen-AD Exchange? How will this effect asset valuation?
Will any of this show cause to adjust pricing decisions from the developer side of things? Will the cost values set in the Wondrous Bazaar, Companion Upgrade System, Crafting and Campaigns still be valid or will they need to be adjusted?

Is this my claim to fame? Post screen-shotted and re-posted?
I'd like to thank my mum for always believing in me....
On a serious note, i'm really not digging these changes, nor the fact that they were snuck in and NOT mentioned at all. Hoping that we get some word from the devs since they should be waking up now, as to why they are changing this.

This whole invoking system is balls! Just scrap it already I say and give us other options to obtain Coal Wards because I guarantee you it's the only reason players invoke in the first place. The AD reward is secondary.
Our pain is self chosen.

Hilarious! I just came back 2 months ago after a 18 months break. A very interesting move to keep players close to the gaming application. I congratulate the management!

The main thing I'd like to take away from any changes is for them to re-evaluate their 4-hour daily invocation cycle, but I'd rather discuss that if they do post an official feedback thread. Which they might not because flamebait.
this will make invoking less useful for bots. why just not reduce the number of daily invokes then too, to make it less annoying for players?
This is my line of thinking.
In brief, if you're going to run dungeons with these changes (first and second, not subsequent runs that grant paltry AD), you're better off doing so after you've invoked 5 times to get your maximum bonus buff first. That's 2.5 hours of waiting to do something. Or run your dungeons and then do your salvaging 2.5 hours later. This is stupid, or at least it's an indication that they're designing something that is once again not really intended to benefit players, because the system is not based on a reasonable model for how people want to play the game (ie. log in and DO STUFF).

This is pointless. Botters make more AD doing dungeons than they do from invoking. It won't hurt them at all. Only legit players are going to be maimed as usual.

Maybe they should make a new character and play it until BIS, without their dev powers. After that wonderful experience this game might end up going to right direction. Bad thing is that that process would take few years
You do realized that there is more AD generated from automating baby dungeons right? This IS NOT something i do (check my logs) but you can't tell me you've not seen it running through with alts!! I had one the other day that followed me everywhere and stopped with I stopped and everything. There was no doubt in my mind it was either a bot set to assist or a player who straight up used the /follow command to just walk along behind me.
I have 52 toons, each can generate what 10k a day for 2 dungeons(5k each). 520k a day. Half that, one run with each toon 260k which is still more than invoking with all my toons.
I invoke from home and work. From work I use remote desktop to access my home PC. The game is not playable this way but invoking is.

Queues are already barren enough as it is. Seriously, how do you think we can make ADs if queues aren't popping...? No one wants to run endless baby dungeons to make ADs FFS.
In the end, we'll be burnt out within an hour while the bots feed off legit player's sweat, control the AH, keep everyone suffering.
So @beckylunatic and a few others on the Preview thread have bought up a very good point - in order to get the full benefit, you need to not earn your AD until after you have completed 5 invokes - so that is 2.5 hours (if you invoke the second you can, with cycling through alts, you are looking closer to 3 hours).
That is 3 hours before you should run dungeons, skirmishes, salvage, or anything else (lets hope weeklies and maze engine dailies also benefit from this boost).
I'm based in Singapore - so daily reset for me is my 6pm. My play time is 6pm-midnight (yeah I have no life outside of work...), which means I need to make sure I don't generate any AD until 9pm. A three hour window is left to run dungeons on my 5 mains (remember the whole no life thing). Even for me, that will be pushing it (and trying to make sure my alts get salvage to also benefit).
The reason we made this change was because was saw that Invocation was the largest source of AD that could be generated by not actually playing the game, this is not good. It was very apparent when comparing the PC numbers with what was happening on Xbox, VERY different playstyles but the vast difference between the two groups suggested this was a problem area.
The change we made will actually increase the amount of AD you would earn if combined with actual gameplay. You can even bank it for a week and play all on the weekend, you just have to do something to actually earn that AD now instead of having a bot army.
It does however look like the bonus will accumulate, for how long we don't know (and there is no mention of the bonus potential listed anywhere which needs to be fixed). We still need to be able to see the bonus pool amount (currently invisible), and we still have ZERO idea how this interacts with the VIP bonus since we don't have VIP on preview (something we've been asking for since it existed).

At least the devs are good at something.... continually reducing the player population.
